Can't remember if I posted this in the last thread

Why the hell did i write the captcha in thr text box....

Recent

New L & R and the beautiful new Dave Cooper Ripple h/c too.

Forgot pic, like a div

here's most of my stuff, at least what i have with me

and some artbooks etc.

My LCS by my job was having a sale on variants and booksets and cpuldnt find that many good ones except for the two in the picture in my opinion. Was also able to finally get a DC and Looney Tunes Crossover comic. Pretty sure this is second printing since last time they ran out on the Batman and Elmer Fudd crossover.

Hey, Marvel Now Then!

>Pedrosa, Matsumoto, Tezuka, Igarashi, Sparrow, Moebius

No way you're not an artist. Props on having exquisite fucking taste, either way. Did you buy the special edition of Number Five vol.1 to get that figure btw?

Dayuum, I need to get that Yuasa book. Are those Matsumoto books artbooks too, and what do they cover? Where do you order from?

yeah the title is yellow on the first Batman/Fudd printing

Pls post scans of that Yuasa book on /ic/
you'd do the Lords work.

Not much big on getting second printing like other people but just bought it since i don't like digital that well. Was also wondering if they were going to even do a whole TPB of all thr crossovers but news yet on that.

Yeah it's set for March or April, sometime around then

>Fantastic Four
I cry errytime. How long before they bring back the best family?

Anyone here have the Voltron Legendary Defenders toys? Can't decide if I should get my brother the 5 lions for his birthday, or the 14 inch Voltron. How well does the transformation work? Is there a big quality difference between the set and the completed Voltron?

...

Must be nice to have money.

Alright thanks, will be sure to definitely buy it.

what's the best way to get rid of books I don't want?

fire

ebay, local comic shop, friends

>booksetc.com
the website is dead now or it moved here booksetc.co.uk/

Great, now the brand new copypasta is already outdated.

well shit

How's Shirtless Bear-Fighter? I reckon it's not serious, but is it actually a fun read or is it try-to-be-funny-but-isn't-at-all?

Sure, let strangers around the world judge what are mostly mexican reprints.

>Best Loki

how can one picture be so based???

like a lot of this too, not so much but that's more my taste than yours.

9.5/10 would want to borrow

thanks, yeah i'm an artist, illustration mostly, trying to make comics (duh), weird that it shows
i got the full No.5 vol.1 package, i just don't display the box, here are some photos i took when i got it: imgur.com/a/2JXk3 (the book is lying under tekkonkinkreet, it's just that the spine print is some fancy foil that reflects light so you can't see it)
and yep, 100 (i'm missing that one, it's older and more expensive) and 101 are Matsumoto artbooks. this one has all sorts of stuff, stand-alone illustrations, some stuff from the beginning pages of his comics (but in a larger format), and even some short weird comics/sequential art like in pic related.
also i like how you put Sparrow among those giants, he deserves it, the guy is a genius.

i was praying someone would do the same until i finally bought it. been eyeing it since it released but i was hoping the price would go down somehow. it went up tho, luckily not sky-high, i got it for about $60.
anyway i will probably scan it some day, when i have the time and will to do so.

Thanks, and sure get thru the plane, customs, and all that so we can talk.

>Where do you order from?

forgot to answer this, ebay and bookdepository mostly, some stuff i picked up in local stores and when i travel. and some stuff directly from the publishers obviously, like Peow, Shortbox etc.

Here is what is coming for me

>Hal Jordan and the Green Laterns vol 3
>The Irregular at Migic High School vol 5
>Clockwork Planet vol 4
>Citrus vol. 6

>weird that it shows
Eh, one artist recognizes another I guess? Do you have a blog or portfolio you'd be willing to share, I'd love to see if and how all those guys influence you!

I didn't realize the boxed edition came with a neat poster too, looks like that's next on my list. Is the book itself paperback like the rest of the series or HC? The paper quality of those Taiyo artbooks looks gorgeous by the way.

Sparrow's fucking fantastic, I got to meet him in person last year and he's even lovely in person.

Are you guys really gonna make me go through everything I have and take pictures of them?

Ah kay, I mostly get my untranslated Jap stuff from eBay too. Just ordered three of Otomo's anthology collections for only forty pounds recently off a seller in Japan, can't wait to get those.

Speaking of Otomo, did anyone here pull the trigger on the Kodansha boxset?

Not until you find a cure for your parkinson's.

I literally just through my hand up and snapped the flash, didn't really think much of it.

Won a bunch of auctions recently after getting kind of obsessed with Mike Allred. And got an absolute score on the Umbrella Academies.

are those sandman books just the big black book spread over 10 books?

I was going to say something but not after this 10/10 comment

dude....

>ponies in the back
no, please don't

Im not sure what you mean by that, in these are the 75 issues+Orpheus song special, the whole series not counting spinoffs.

I think you mean the absolute sandman which is 5 books of the whole series AND some spinoffs iirc

Does anyone have Crickets 5 or 6, or any of the Pope Hats issues?

But my shelf has ponies and I've gotten, like, three compliments on it.

I might need to get that Loki,i only own the Batgirl and the Lady Deadpool one

I had ponies before it was cool, grea up on a farm and enjoyed having My Little Ponies stomp over cars

sure, here: dsst.tumblr.com/
and here's an attempt at a webcomic i should sort of "reboot" soon:

knock yourself out!

p.s. the No. 5 is paperback, but still very nice (the figure alone is too cool to miss)

Bought it from amazon, really fast, really neatly packed and right now is 65 bucks.

>Sparrow
are we talking about the hardcore futa/furry porn artist or am I missing something here? because the way you talk about it so casually sounds a bit... unhinging

New shelf

This is still missing like 1/3 of my collection but it'll all be together eventually

Is that Green Lantern/Green Arrow trade the whole series?

I think so? All the Denny O Neal Adams ones

No not that one, I'm on about Joe Sparrow, an excellent cartoonist.

Nice one, followed! I'll check out your webcomic when I get the chance. And thanks for the No. 5 info!

Ah, I caught the thread. Never not gonna.

Is ripple any good?

I just read suckle and loved it, but the art style on ripple seems too dissimilar

Poopin

...

...

...

It's fucking amazing. And now that the new h/c is like 2 1/2 times as big as the first print s/c it really shows off the art...if there was any touchstone it'd be late-period Crumb, I reckon. But I mean I love his Suckle/Crumple (read that next!!!) overly cartoony style but I guess Ripple is a more "realistic" cartoony style. It's similar to the Dan & Larry In: Don't Do That! art. Very dark story of twisted sexual obsession an artist develops with a (quite probably underage) homely, dumpy chick (nothing against homely and dumpy chicks, just describing the story as best I can!) who basically just fucks with hi and sexually humiliates him. The first part as they're getting to know each other is kind of touching but it just ends so abysmally...it's pretty sexually freaky, too.
So yeah, it's great, this is the third time I've bought it, first when it was serialised in Weasel, then the s/c and now the hardcover. I like Suckle but it's the least-good of the Suckle/Crumple/Ripple loose "trilogy" imho. But as I said if you dug the art in Suckle get Crumple, at least. Cooper's a fucking master, kind of sad he doesn't do comics anymore but it's his muse...oh, and if you can get a cheap copy of The Complete Pip 7 Norton (written by Vice founder and general alt-right cunt Gavin McInnes, it's pretty funny though). French pal of mine has an amazing Cooper collection, I mean like 3 original pages and shit, just awesome stuff.
tl;dr--YES

The comics are in a somewhat chronological order, but I ran out of space.

Other comics

Normal books

what are you doing to that booster gold showcase???

DVDs and anime.

Stuffing the missing issues in-between the pages so the story is in order. I got the showcase for free and it's not that expensive anyways so I don't really care if it warps it.

Stuff & things

I think that bureau needs a good wipe down

this is it. watchman is on another shelf.
thinking of getting headlopper, continuing with fatale or JLA by grant morrison.
its really difficult not just ordering everything off amazon.

damn those sandman books look expensive. arent they like 25 dollars each? i refuse to buy more of the paperback cause THEY were too expensive. they look good though.
>miniature stan lee cup
heh, nice. what team do you root for?
how was the black mirror?

Black Mirror is really good. Highly recommend it.

>and it's not that expensive anyways

i bet you'd have more room if you stood those books up

Lol. It's like 20 bucks in the US.

Well, about those sandman I have good news and bad news.
These cost me around 17 usd each, so not very expensive, they are hardcover and they have nice pages.
The bad: mexican reprint so they're in spanish (the translation is good tho) , they have the recolor and they are hard to come by outside of resellers that inflate the prices.

Habs all day

getting scarce too though

Nice one bro I will have to check it out, I'm looking for a crumble trade now and they must be out of print as they're very hard to find.

Definitely going to buy Ripple though.

On an unrelated note I bought Daredevil: Guardian Devil yesterday and half way in I am unimpressed.. I don't think I like Kevin Smiths writing style. I will read it all though and see it through.

Huh... You're right. For some reason I remembered thinking there wasn't enough room to stand them up.

Haven't got to it yet. There is a lot of hype behind it

...

>sandman for 25
How is this expensive? There are plenty of far worse comics that are just as pricey and have worse bindings.

Yeah they're out of print unfortunately but eBay's a good bet, bookdepository or something like that. Having said that you could pay ridiculous prices for the old Fanta anthology Zero Zero that it was originally serialised in! Pic related

Also found a coupla pages from one of thos Big Books of Urban Legends or whatever

...

Original Ripple page too.

I like that girl Loki statue. Is that a cloth cape?

Nah, it resembles but it's resin

Dude if anyones gonna be an ass and "judge you" it'll be based on the actual titles not being a reprint or a mexican version or whatever. Get your damn comics however ya can!

that's where you're wrong, kiddo!

Thank you!
I've thirsted for those scans.
Have a good read.

Thats great to hear, Im not used to the way buyfag threads work, everything so far has been positive, MADNESS.

Now this one makes more sense

in all seriousness though, getting criticized for whatever should be integral. if your collection is shit, someone should tell you. fuck safe space mentality.

Seen that the thread is almost dead, here's a close up to that Loki
