Voltron: The Third Dimension

Voltron: The Third Dimension
What went wrong?
What went right?

No, let's not.
Everything.
Nothing.

It introduced me to Voltron and was one of my gateways to mecha.
Eat it VLD faggots.

Tim Curry as Cyborg Lotor was fun
Dracotron was a neat concept whose design could've been ironed out

Voltron saw better days.

The writing was actually surprisingly OK but man was it just too ugly as shit.

What made it worse than other CG cartoons at the time?

No homolust or tranny Pidge.

Lack of budget or experienced studio probably.

I was touted as the first fully American CG animated series.
Meanwhile, Mainframe in Canada kicked their ass with Beast Wars season 3.

How would you redesign him?

That honestly looks way better than the main Voltron and its shitty yellow blob eyes.

Why was Oberstein piloting Black Lion?

Sad thing is that Dracotron was never even made as a toy.
Now this piece of shit on the other hand...
Seriously, when Westerners designed characters for Beast Wars, they got it right.
When Westerners designed robots for Voltron, they got it wrong until Legendary Defender

This or Voltron Force?

>Seriously, when Westerners designed characters for Beast Wars, they got it right.
Thankfully they were big fans of The Guyver, and similar works.

If you guys can find something that's okay animated by them I'll give you a cookie.

He-Man 2002 and Code Lyoko
Done

Wasn't this it, or was it never released?

This thing from Voltron Force didn't look too bad.

Never saw that image.
I searched Dracotron on Google and only found prototypes and according to all the sources I could find, it was never released

As one who saw 3rd dimension, it was a fun little cartoon. All the cartoonish villainy we love, with none of the consequences- and when there were consequences they just made things worse for the other side!

They took their Lotor to an unusual place, but they sure made it work.
