Has an anime to live action adaptation ever actually been good?

Has an anime to live action adaptation ever actually been good?

No.

Seven samurai. The problem is that these retards grab everything from the manga or anime and cram it into one movie which obviously isn't enough.

Directors should be recreating a movie in their own image.

Yes, but people here are only familiar with a fragment of what has been made.

>directors should be recreating a movie in their own image.
they tried that with attack on titan and it was one of the worst things I have ever seen, even viewing it as standalone film.

no because the source material isnt good either

Of anime? The Kenshin films were awesome.

manga to live action maybe

Then nothing is good.

yes

I was going to post this. It's a pretty generous adaptation, but still a pretty good movie.

Absolute KINO

Japanese Death note wasnt HORRIBLE

Not from anime but still..

No because you need good source material to adapt

They're almost never based on anime, people just keep calling them anime for some reason.

Then good source material doesn't exist anywhere.

>generous adaptation

So, a good adaptation? I hate when sourcefags demand an adaptation be a replication of existing material instead of something new for a different audience.

The Dragonball movie was a replication of anime into live action. No one should be trying to replicate anime into live action. That is entirely antithetical to what an adaptation is.

Yes, Takeshi Miike

It's grown on me.

It was tho, the cast act so bad.

Like are you having fun with your Nintendo, son?
