Why couldn't she have just told Steven she saw blue diamond?? Or just give him future vision to prove him??

Why couldn't she have just told Steven she saw blue diamond?? Or just give him future vision to prove him??

Because if Steven knew he'd want to go even more. Pay attention, she said it right in the episode.

So, he'd go even if he knew it ment his dad being kidnapped??

Garnet does not panic well.

cause Garnet is a retard

Just because you're psychic doesn't mean you're smart.

>Why couldn't she have just told Steven she saw blue diamond?
Because she freaked out and BD still cause Garnet to lose her shit and stress out and be scared when to come to Blue Diamond.

It's Garnet trying to avoid confrontation while at the same time trying to not look at any future path involving BD.

She foresaw the importance of being cryptic for her show's ratings. Reminder that SU is a show that exists in-universe.

Because she is gay, BIGOT!!

>ment

she didn't know that greg would get kidnapped, only that blue diamond was there and would be dangerous by common sense

How convenient.

Honestly this show is driven by connivence/coincidences.

For a gem that sees the future, she sure lacks foresight.

This, really.
Neither Sapphire nor Ruby deal exceptionally under pressure. Which is often not a problem because having probabilistic precognition means they can see things coming and be ready.
But under emotional stress they fall apart, literally.
We have seen how they are when upset after Pearl dicked Garnet over, and how Sapphire almost failed an easy lie to BD's face.
Garnet is fucking terrified of the Diamonds and has shown blatant avoidance tactics to get around the topic while trying to maintain composure and be a leader.
See any time Steven asked about the war, Gem history etc.
Garnet always tried to steer him away, blocked, deflected, etc.
The Answer is late in season 2 because that's as late as Garnet was ready to talk to Steven about her past.
In Steven's Dream, Garnet follows Steven and Greg because she knows where they go. But she can't go anywhere near BD or immediately blow their cover, and she's scared half to death of her ire.
This is maybe one of those things where the show is too subtle with a fact so you don't notice for a long time unless you take psychology classes.

Garnet's futurevision is one of those powers that can never be allowed to work as advertised, because otherwise she would be unstoppable and the show would have no tension.

>This is maybe one of those things where the show is too subtle with a fact so you don't notice for a long time unless you take psychology classes.

I think you're giving the show too much credit.

the thing is, they treat it like perfect precognition most of the time when it's really more all possible outcomes. She needed more instances of making a decision sure of the outcome but get it completely wrong

>Why couldn't she have just told Steven she saw blue diamond

Because the Crystal Gems are so passionately, vehemently, idiotically, fucking retardedly dead-set on not revealing to Steven any information whatsoever regarding Homeworld or Gems/Gem culture in general that they're literally willing to put HIS LIFE and the lives of others in incredible danger.

And this is not the first instance of a Crystal Gem being tight-lipped that has fucked someone over. There are countless times throughout the series thus far that a situation could have been helped or avoided entirely just by the Gems sitting Steven down and fucking talking to him.

Or maybe because Sugar is a hack. Your pick.

>and the show would have no tension.

The show already has no tension.

Given how prominent inner turmoil and emotional conflict have been in the show, it seems fitting that Garnet's problems are the least addressed as she tries to keep up a leadership she is not really suited for.
I don't think this is placed here accidentally.
The reason you may not see it is Garnet's personality.
She acts like she has total control when she hasn't and panics at the worst possible moments, but tries to hide the fact.
By now it's so glaringly obvious, the mounting evidence must be deliberate.

Taking psychology class? Alright, thanks for a waste of time

There is good money in psychology.
Psychotherapy or manipulation tactics both can pay handsomely.
There are easily worse things to choose.

there is no certainty about the future, it wasn't definitely going to happen. The choice that led to the most and best outcomes all involved Garnet not telling Steven anything and letting Greg take him to Korea

How is future vision this hard to understand its been explained like 3 times at least

WHy couldn't you just post the rant video you're referring to? Or just give link without saying anything?

>a gag of characters ending up in the same space as their creator
>THIS MUST BE A POP-CULTURE REFERENCE/CANON LORE/PLOT TWIST/DEUS EX MACHINA
oh you /sug/arites

Morons don't get that it's not magic, but advanced stochastics Garnet is running constantly, based on known factors.
It's not an I Win button.
They just ignore that we have seen Garnet be wrong, manipulate information to reach desired outcomes, and hedging bets. They assume these things mean Sugar doesn’t get her own show, instead of presenting the extent of Garnet's power.

but even if he wanted to go more, she could have prevented greg from getting harmed.
So what if steven went. Garnet goes with him and they watch BD mourn. Then she leaves, and they move on with their lives.

Garnet did not foresee that Greg and BD would bond, or that she was collecting for the Zoo.
Probably. Maybe she saw way worse if she had come while BD was there.
That encounter would have marked the second big war, likely.

she was probably in a state of panic and didn't want him to go at all costs, if i recall its not like she knew he snuck there with greg. i never claimed it was good writing though
