Annihilation
Arrival

BR2049 > Edge of Tomorrow > Annihilation > Interstellar > Arrival
I haven't seen Ex Machina

Interstellar is dead last. That's easy. Rest is a bit harder. I'd say BR is top.

BR2049
Arrival

Annihilation really surprised me. Very solid sci-fi. All of them are very good honestly, except for Interstellar which is shit.

1. Ex Machina

3. Arrival
4. Annihilation
5. Blade Runner 2049

Epic

Actually good movies > Interstellar > Edge > Arrival > entering the soy realm > Ex Machina > BR2049 > Annihilation

First Nolan shat out Inception. 90% hype just because it's from the guy who made TDK. Then came Interstellar which was absolute tripe. And now we arrived at Dunkirk which is probably the dullest and sloppiest big budget WW2 film ever made.

When will people realize that Nolan is a complete and total hack?

the only that I saw was the Cruise pic and that was pretty based

BR2049
Ex Machina
Annihilation
Arrival
Edge of Tomorrow
Interstellar

Honestly I think Nolan is shit with big budget movies. His early stuff is decent to good

BR2049
Annihilation
Arrival
Ex Machina
Edge of Tomorrow

Dunkirk is his best and only truly great work besides Memento.

Really liked Edge of Tomorrow and Ex Macina

Interstellar and Arrival were kind of meh

BR2049 failed in every way possible

Haven't seen Hershlag's new one

Look at this faggot, adding movies that weren't mentioned in the OP.

I like all six movies OP mentioned. I won't rate them in any specific order because I'm not some internet-raised babby child. Have fun with your little thread, kiddos.

Interstellar only worked well in the cinema. So much of the experience came from seeing it on the massive screen and watching it on a television just doesn't do it justice and makes it a lesser movie. Also

What a crock.

If it wasnt for the twist and the flashbacks Arrival would be a super mediocre movie

whats a sufragette ?

This man is not pleasant to look at.

how old are you? its explained even in the fucking panel
underages should leave

Jesus fucking Christ what a faggot. I cannot even put into words how much I despise that man

Blade Runner > Edge of Tomorrow > everything else

If it wasn't for the twist and stupid ending Interstellar would be a super kino

Jesus christ they are all shit but at least ex machina sated my love of modern home interior design.

Right off the bat you have to agree that none of these movies are original in the least when it comes to sci-fi ideas in film, so let's see what unique thing/scene they added to the movie in spite of their recycled core.

Ex Machina:
>Dance party

Live Die Repeat:
>Tome Cruise rolling under a jeep as bill paxton shrugs confused yet unperturbed.

Interstellar
>Visuals

Arrival
>Literally nothing unique added

BR2049
>rare example of an actress actually being able to portray rage without failing totally as most oft do

Annihilation
>Bear with woman screams(not unique but still a great horror scene in an otherwise bland movie with a shit ending)

ex machina
arrival
blade runner 2049
interstellar
annihilation
edge of tomorrow doesn't belong in this list

How can you possibly like Annihilation but none of those other films?

Twist? I liked that the "aliens" communicating were super-advanced humans
Still mad about MUH LOVE IS MOST POWERFUL FORCE though

>you have to agree that none of these movies are original in the least
????

Fuck. This is hard.
BR2049
Annihilation
Arrival
Edge of Tomorrow
Ex Machina
Interstellar

Movies that hinge on some outrageous 11th hour plot twist are super lazy
You can like the movie and acknowledge that you think it's good and also acknowledge that if the last 30 minutes or so were even slightly different it would be dramatically less entertaining

But that "twist" is heavily interconnected with every single moment of the film though? You have a flashback (which turns out to be a fast forward flashback" almost every 10 minutes or so, the entire opening sequence also, every time Louise experiences a flashback etc

Hit me as hard as you want to, but explain to me how we, the viewers, know that the alliums were super-advanced humans please.

It's a very well done sci-fi action film starring Cruise and Blunt with a cool gimmick that keeps things interesting and tense and exciting. It wasn't too dark but also not quippy or funny. It was serious with just a pinch of fun.

I'm too lazy to look up the script but I'm pretty sure McConnaughey says they were just future humans who figured out all them dimensions

I'll have to watch it again. I missed that completely and just thought they were extraterrestrial or extradimensional aliens.

+Tom Cruise
+Time Travel
+Good cgi
+America Fuck Yeah atmosphere
+Female actress actually worked out for the role
+good "twists" to keep the characters on their toes
Overall a well made movie, and compared to literally everything else in OP's list, it stands out.

>Still mad about MUH LOVE IS MOST POWERFUL FORCE though
one of the most satisfying pleb filters is hearing this gripe, honestly

Hearing the gripe is the pleb filter? Meaning, plebs can't hear it?

Edge of Tomorrow is the only one that's not 1,000% reddit.

Sup Forums just like tom cruise and emily blunt, objectively though the movie is probably the weakest of all 6 here

Interstellar is garbage
Arrival is garbage
Blade Runner is decent
Haven't seen Annihilation

Cruise Kino wins again I'm afraid

Emily is a qt
Cruise is a great actor, obviously. You can really see him turn into a hardened veteran
Fun premise
You can either get mad about the happy ending or make up shit to justify it, which is always fun

>objectively though the movie is probably the weakest of all 6 here
>I can rank movies objectively!
rebbit is >>>

1) Interstellar 7/10
2) Edge of Tomorrow 6/10
3) Arrival 6/10

6) Annihilation 2/10
Modern Sci-Fi is such utter garbage.

>Edge of Tomorrow that high.
One of the greatest meme of Sup Forums

It's just a very good sci-fi action film.

why is blade runner 2049 liked by so many people here? i mean it wasn't bad but come on...
is this the first movie you anons saw that went for the cinematography as its main selling point?
is everyone circa 17 18 years old here ?

How many foreign language sci-fi films have you seen?

Might as well only eat McD burgers your entire life and then ask yourself why no other restaurant makes good burgers.

its shit so put it at the end

there are more countries than the US?

I had a good cinetography and a good story. It’s a sci fi without cgi mess. It did some subversion of tropes well. Its existence is also sort of a miracle because nobody expect a sequel of a decade old cult classic can turn out to be good. Most sequel aren’t good in the first place. Everything pointed to a soul less cash grab or a rehash but it ended up being a fresh story even when it panders to the fans of the original
