>Israel

Yeah it's called anything from hollywood

>Iran

I've seen two films by Fahradi, A separation and The Salesman. I've liked them desu. Small slices of life and in the Salesman there is a mention of Gaav by Mehrjui, which I previously saw.

Gaav is weirdly strange, bordering surrealism. Though, I don't think that a good quality of it exists online.

I also wanted to see Prince Ehtejab, but the available versions are even crappier than Gaav.

Kiarostami
+1 for Farhadi

Unfortunately i dont know any good Southern European films

Days of Glory

>he hasnt seen Waltz with Bashir

thanks, gaav looks interesting

the only relevant country in that region, when it comes to film, is Iran.

More Iran kino:
Abbas Kiarostami
Jafar Panahi
Mohsen Makhmalbaf (and pretty much everyone in the family)
Sohrab Shahid Saless
Ebrahim Golestan
Kamran Shirdel
Bahram Beizai
Marva Nabili
Majid Majidi
Dariush Mehrjui
Mohammad Rasoulof

There are some other good obscure directors but these should keep you buys for a while.
Also, there's a lot of good African kino in general. I'll reply with more if you want.

This. It's one of my favorite movies of all time. The cast from stranger things ain't got nothing on these kids.

Just wait for the Syrian civil war to end for some war kino from ME
