Step 1: Stop making shit threads.
Step 2: Go the fuck outside.

IT'S THE GUY FROM THAT MOVIE!
LOOK!

I don't understand how she exploded his brain.

Be good looking, smart, funny, self conscious, confident, and go outside

me on the left

Find a girl with ASPD

when I watched it I assumed she had some kind of weapon.

Im outside, now what?

She dislocated his skull, replicant strength and precision basically

Step 3: invent replicants

>I don't understand how a replicant with 10x the strength of a normal human and a gun can smash someones cranium up
???

I don't know but if you ever find out, please tell me

Don't worry I'll keep you updated bro

whats her problem?

>h-hey you can’t take t-those
Why was coco so beta?

He lost his composure in the presence of BR2049's best girl

She's not JOi.

You fucked up Step 1.
Start again.

Understandable I guess

Is it me or is there a fake film grain on this pic?

Why did they CGI this scene? Why is there so much unnecessary CGI in literally every single shot of this flick?
>youtube.com/watch?v=X4c6wAJVMO8
And every other VFX reel, basically the entire film is touched up with CGI, no shot is left original. Villenueve is an industry puppet, adopting every gimmick under the sun with glee.

Unironically, make her.

The edit is much more unnerving and leaves you with the impression that she can seriously fuck people up

Unedited it's just boring and pleb friendly

i think his point is they could have just made the suit with higher shoulders and achieved the same effect

This is actualy an example of good CG use

tfw no luv to sit on my face

>Cgi is unnecessary unless you KNOW it's been used
???

Fincher also does this in many of his movies, is he also a hack? Who cares if it's CG if you cant' tell a difference.

build her in the first place.

She hit him so hard that the entire back of his skull got shoved forward. You can see when he's on the floor that his top jaw is no longer aligned with his bottom jaw.

Fuck you're stupid

Luv Drowns.jpg when?

I unironically wish K would get gangraped by 50 black pleasure model replicants for what he did to her.

He was assuming she was acting in good faith, and she played along by acting polite and giving him some forms.

she's the best one

Attached: 2049 luv beautiful.webm (1492x800, 1.25M)

she looks like a dog, butch looking face, square jaw, overly masculine -- not very flattering. beta males find ugly chicks like her hot because they're ugly too

>is he also a hack?
Yes, in fact he is. "Fincher-tier" isn't a compliment.

With more conventional longer hairstyle she looks more feminine.

In any case, people here like her for her personality. I didn't find her attractive until later. She grew on me a lot. By virtue of her personality and purity and being the best one. Also she has a tite bod and an objectively super aesthetic profile.

Attached: luv profile.jpg (1920x796, 179K)

It shouldn't need CGI. If you approach a simply shot like that with CGI in mind, you're a worthless Hollywood hack.
>good cgi use
>can't even shoot an underwater shot without having to touch it up
And Deakins won best cinematography for this garbage.

>people here like her for her personality
What personality?

she's the best angel of all

Attached: luv twitch.webm (1920x796, 2.66M)

She wouldn't be dead if it was true.

I wish I was this stupid

>villenueve even had to cgi the fightscene
Christ, what a goddamn hack. This flick is more video game than film.

Attached: watch?v=X4c6wAJVMO8_00:01:10.503.jpg (1280x720, 92K)

What's the problem?

Be honest: Would you have guessed that when you first watched the movie? Did you think twice about that shot at all?

No talent on set to choreograph a real fight, so they resort to low-effort, cheap CGI and call it a wrap. Every shot is made in post, then served to the viewer as valid film, when in fact it's a glorified video game cutscene.

If it looks good in the end, what's wrong with it?

Fucking Jurassic Park might as well have been DinoCrisis

Cheap piece of crap

be black

she's sexually frustrated

In this particular instance, no, I didn't notice. They do a good job hiding it in the shadows. But you notice in many other shots. It's a matter of artistic integrity; I'm interested in film as a medium, and not CGI-everything which is made in post and doesn't constitute as cinematography.

It's actually the right way to get the effect they were going for... this isn't a fight between two human characters, they are beating the absolute shit out of each other with superhuman strength, Goose is getting his head slammed against the wall/ground again and again, and you see every impact on camera. You can't do that to a stunt double without giving him brain damage.

They could've resorted to trick angles, sped-up footage, etc but they would've had to cut away a lot more frequently to maintain the illusion. It would've looked cheaper. This isn't the same kind of fight choreography as characters having a fistfight or wrestling/grappling, it wouldn't look great. Part of the quality of the scene comes from the way the brutality is depicted so matter-of-factly in simple stable wide shots, because neither of these characters are considered significant, and this kind of violence is an everyday part of K's job.

You don't know what you're talking about, dude

The subtlety of her acting is amazing.

This is after K says 'He named you, you must be special.'

Her hair and dress are incredibly dorky. Its meant to highlight her immaturity.

You're supposed to see her as a preppy school-girl that her rich parents dress up.

Big problem with Luv's fighting style is that K can just tackle her. Lots of flashy kicks work in kung fu movies, but not real world. K is strong as hell, and she's only balancing with one leg.

>and not CGI-everything which is made in post and doesn't constitute as cinematography
I could guarantee that these effects were planned in pre-production before they ever got on set. Most of what you're seeing on that reel are practical effects where the actor's face gets superimposed later. Planning & lighting those effects properly on set, and then later lighting each part of the composite to match the master frame, becomes part of the cinematographer's job.

At this level they're not just saying "fuck it we'll figure it out later." Good CGI requires proper planning

>This is after K says 'He named you, you must be special.'

Luv is a tragic, sad, person. He never named her, he just called her "luv" once, as in the general term you call anyone, and she latched onto it. Luv and K are both searching for meaning, and purpose, and to be special. Luv has a child-like adoration of Wallace and needs his approval. She tries to be "the best one" in his eyes.

Luv is a house slave, K is a field slave

I dont know what americans use the term 'luv'. Unless the man who revolutionized replicant technology is some fat bricklayer from essex in a egg and paint stained shirt who 'named' her as she walked past his building site. Even then, her name would still be "your lips belong on my dick, luv"

What is this autism? Do you actually think CGI isn't used to touch up pretty much every single shot in movies nowadays? Especially people underwater or fight scenes?

>I dont know what americans use the term 'luv'.

Plans were for David Bowie to play Wallace, and the script assumes Walalace is British.

I don't understand this mindset that CGI is considered cheating. It's one tool/technique that can be used to achieve images & effects that can't be done practically. I don't see why a "real director" should self-consciously avoid it even if it means he's willfully making the wrong choice for the scene.

It all comes down to quality of execution, either way. If it looks "real" to the audience, then it doesn't matter how you did it. On the other hand, nobody cares how much work you put into building a giant practical animatronic if it looks shitty and unconvincing

user gets it. Have some Luv.

Attached: 1517165314171.jpg (3840x1600, 2.26M)

how hard would you bust if she stepped over you like that in those boots

SO hard

I want Luv to step on me ;_;

Attached: luv kiss.webm (1920x800, 3M)

Oh its this guy again
Fuck off

Yes, because you cannot depict physical voilence without CGI, right? Wrong.
>They could've resorted to
They could have resorted to talent, instead of throwing money at a effects studio. They could have done it a million different ways to good effect, but chose the CGI route, because it is the current industry-standard gimmick and every hack under the sun uses it.

You're hopelessly defending this mess by making excuses for it.

Attached: americanhistoryx1.jpg (454x240, 32K)

This was a good film bros, why did it do so poorly while capeshit continues to succeed? I'm legitimately flustered and concerned that kinos will no longer be made, just paint by numbers board room schlock.

SHE LOOKS LIKE A CAT I WANT TO PET HER MEW MEW :3

>Says the effects were so good he didn't even notice it was CG
>Finds out it's CG
>"Wow what is this video game garbage"
Embarrassing

This is why you don't know what you're talking about - you act like every kind of on-screen violence is the same thing. There are specific things going on in this scene that couldn't really be done any other way. In addition to the stuff I said earlier about the head-slamming, they're also able to pick each other up and throw each other around like they weigh 5 pounds. They're using dummies with the actor's faces superimposed on. That's not even really "CGI," it's just basic compositing, which was a standard part of filmmaking long before films were edited on computers.

It's retarded to say "CGI=no talent," when they executed the CGI so well that it didn't even occur to you that they were using it until you saw a VFX reel. You're being autistic

>buy a mona lisa
>turns out to be a replica, but can't tell to the untrained eye
>"why are you mad, it looks just like the original??"
Video-game cutscenes aren't art.

This dude is doing pretty well since The Dark Knight

>Can't tell the difference between a replica and the real thing
>thinks his opinion on art matters

>attempts to pass off a replica as the real thing
>thinks he's an auteur and not just a hollywood hack
t. Denis Villeneuve. Go back to poisoning the minds of the masses with your lowbrow garbage masquerading as worthwhile film. Of course the average capeshit drone can't tell the difference between art and not.

Walking out of the cinema I heard people saying how amazing it was that they used so little CGI.

This is how CGI should be. It should be so subtle that people barely even consider it. Like in Paddington 2 where you completely forget he's a CGI bear because it looks so good.

He does a lot of transsexual porn which is weird

oh my god, are you serious? Fuck, they should have lazarusd him just for this.

Cute hair and demeanor, fridge bod

I was extremely aroused by this scene.
What are some more movies with super strong women brutally and graphically destroying men like they're insects?

Luv has a man face
JOI is perfect femininity

this

Based cat poster

More like
