Pretty much this.

I like it. It's a good movie.

Love the movie, hate the normie perception of the movie's message

Most Overrated Disney flick along with Frozen and Lion King

It was very interesting movie.

One of my happiest surprises in the last several years.

I remember when it was announced and I was just like "Well that could be cool." And then the teaser had me more interested...and then the actual trailer was like "I'm in, but it could still suck." And then it was great, and it did great, and it was just a really fun, positive happening.

Also 100+ bonus points cuz furry.

>normie perception of the movie's message
Alright, am intrigued by this; that perception being?

Big fan of the fan comics. Pack Street is weaver's worst work though.

preachy garbage made by SJWs

Which comics?

Pro cop shit. Fuck that. I'm not even that left swinging and I still can't get behind cop propaganda.

That all the movie had to say was "RACISM IS BAD" when there was very little anti racism sentiment in the movie

I feel it could have been better if it didnt have to conform to the restrictions that come with being a Disney property.

suuure

youtube.com/watch?v=kpLX_gMwKms

user, you can't post a discarded concept and use it as a counterargument against a point reflecting the finished product

How?

A little bit of this but you have to remember Disney has to appeal to normies to maximize profits. Therefore restrictions must apply.
I felt the movie's message was "multiculturalism isn't as easy as putting different people in one place and expecting things to sort themselves out."

Is there going to be a second one???

i like judy

Yes there is.

Could Roommates really be better? I don't have terribly high hopes for anything set in the TGI Fridays universe.

And what is your interpretation of the message?

I didn't like Judy's motivation for kickstarting the plot.
>fresh imitate that just graduated
>she thinks she's entitled to work on a massive missing-persons case

I wonder what the plot would be?

Not him, and I would accuse a lot of my problems as stemming from the writers being lazy with their buddycop formula rather than purposeful propaganda, but: Judy got away with a lot of abuses of her power that she rarely suffered repercussions for, and only ever minimal ones at that.

She made a public announcement to the media about a theory from a field she hasn’t even studied, stating pure personal speculation based on an overheard conversation, and wound up igniting a mass panic. And she didn’t professionally suffer for it, she just felt bad.

She decided on whether or not to report a health code violation according to whether the establishment would serve a customer she bullied them into serving.

She broke into private property and searched without a warrant. Her making up a ‘loophole’ to justify it was total bullshit.

She worked with the mafia without any authorization. She’s pretty much part of that mafia by the end of the film: she’s a member of that family by way of being a godparent.

There’s probably other stuff I forgot. Bottom line is the movie treats Judy like she’s above the law just because she’s a cop, not that being a cop makes her even more responsible for adhering to the law and that her power is meant to serve and protect citizens withon the sphere of the law, not to serve her own personal agendas and personal ideas of justice.

Again, I think this is just laziness in an attempt to make an entertaining product, but it sure does send a disturbing message about how people think of cops.

People thought it was some progressive, anti-racist story, when really it was a pro-cop story about how good policing is necessary to ensure a civil society, and how racial strife is often stirred up by politicians for political gain.

I think it fits her personality. 20-something year olds can be pretty petulant.

I didn't really catch sight of Zoot until after the trailer, which made the movie seem like it was going to be really childish and low-brow, another "anthro animals doing animal things while living in a human society" movie from Disney, with shitloads of cheesy animal jokes

basically Sing! was what I was expecting zoot to be, based on the trailer

and then I went to see it (in IMAX no less) and it was fucking amazing

Immediately after getting out of the theater I got on Amazon and ordered a little Judy plush.

I think you'd be kinda mad as well, if you put in a mother fuckton of effort into police academy and graduated at the top of your class and then were assigned to what is basically the lowest possible police job.

I liked it and I hope there's some followup in ten years time.

Cops arent sent to run meters, thats a separate government function. In reality, she'd be paired off with a senior officer to learn the ropes.

>basically Sing! was what I was expecting zoot to be, based on the trailer
Pretty much this. I spent the days leading up to the theatrical release shitting on it because "LOL ANIMALS WITH IPHONES!"

I really want to be two inches tall around Nicke WIlde. He would use a single paw to envelop my entire body and keep my head peeking out between two toes, where he'd force me to lick the sweat between them like a good slave.

Just kidding of course, haha.

I think her first day on the job is still too soon to get pissed at being handed grunt work. If she worked that fucking hard and long at academy, she should realize she needs to work hard and long at the job itself. Her graduation is not a free ticket to any assignment she wants and no matter what her grades were, the other officers all still hold seniority and in-field experience.

Was she being infairly discriminated against by her boss? Yeah probably. But it was still way too soon to call him out on it. She hadn’t earned that.

Epic prank my dude

In reality, yes. But this is still a fictional world we’re talking about, so maybe cops in zootopia really do run the meters.

Pleasantly surprised. I rolled my eyes when I heard it was "racism metaphor with animals", but it turned out to be an excellent movie with more subtlety and depth than I expected from a Disney movie.

she wasn't pissed about being given parking duty, she instead challenged herself to double the expectations given to her. it was only the ware of the non-cop like task the started getting to her later.

and it was the chiefs' unfair biased towards her that encouraged his decision since he out right told her that she was there by order of the mayor with no input from him.

>It's a "People actually believe Zootopia was about Racism" Episode

It's cute and I like the creativity in the animal world and that they thought things through like different animal sizes and their needs at their sizes.

I think the message is a little heavy handed considering the high tensions right now but I still like it and think it's enjoyable regardless of your political views and beliefs.

I hope they do a sequel because I like the buddy cop comedy with a bunny cop and a fox and i want to see some actual cop-Nick.

I hope there's less sloth next time though. That scene really drags for me in re-watchings but it' was hilarious on the first couple watchings, even with it being kinda ruined by the trailers.

I love it.

Sing was better.

It was good, the world was cool.

Judy is nice and cute. The movie was fun and I hope they don't treat the IP poorly.

Have they done anything with the IP post movie? Feels like theyre just letting it rot.

Judy in a gang bang.

The biggest flaw is that it's yet another animated film to end on a dance number.

The only flaw is that really shitty non-relevant Shakira song

Try everything kinda grew on me, I liked it

It was horribly out of place imho.

I think the idea of racism is in there to be sure, but Zootopia did it in a really smart way. Rather than just do, "X animal is Y race" that a lot of similar settings end up doing, they made sure to make the prejudices different animals experience completely different from any real life human race.

So then the movie becomes about prejudice in general (and how governments will manipulate that prejudice) rather than just, say, prejudice against black people.

I can kinda see that, I'm not sure why I like it but the music video does it for me. I like the train scene a lot so maybe I'm just too attached to that.

And thanks for being honest :^)

school and workplaces are vastly different environments.

we have entry level jobs because of this.

I hope so. Seems like theres a lot to explore in the world.

Please tell that this picture isn't implying somebody on Vancouver Island went to Zootopia 24 times?

For a while, normalfags and some idiots on here were saying it's an obvious but poorly made parallel to black/white race politics, or to Muslim/Christian strife, or something.
It's a more generalized message, in truth. No matter who you are or what sort of people you hang out with, you're going to have prejudices. If you let these stereotypes control how you see others, others will use that to control you. And while there may be a grain of truth behind some, remember that nobody is merely the sum of their stereotypes.
>Judy at first sees Nick as a dangerous predator or a lawbreaking sneaky fox
>he's not dangerous or criminal (Judy's felony tax evasion thing was a massive bluff), but he is very tricky
>Nick at first sees Judy as hopelessly optimistic and a staunch believer in the system, and an easy mark
>she turns out to have tricks up her sleeve, and her cheerful optimism is tempered by wariness of possible threats
They were both pretty accurate in their initial assumptions, but decisions they made purely from those are quickly proven suboptimal. Similarly, Bellweather planned assuming Nick and Judy would behave like typical pred and prey, leading to her downfall when the duo successfully plots against her.

Enjoyable movie for normal people with the bonus of enjoyable porn for furries.

So are you a drug dealer or a white collar tax evader?

I agree, that early script nad some amazing ideas.

Shame about Pixar shooting them down.

Yep.

He actually saw it *25* times. The viewer lost the ticket stub to his fourth viewing in a laundry accident.

Tbf, he never beat out that guy who saw it 32 times in the first 23 days.

i always saw it more as "the cute and submissive looking character goes against whats expected by actually taking the lead"
also, she almost dies like 3 times during the movie, i guess it was a means justify the end kinda deal

Yeah, I think the movie wanted you to see her as that cute but take charge person. But when I see someone in a uniform like that acting that way, I can’t help but see a person in a position of authority pushing around people who don’t hold that authority, even if she’s small and female and cute. I don’t think the movie makers intended that perception at all, though.

As to her life being endangered, part of that was the regular risks of the job she took on, part was bad luck, and part was her recklessly endangering herself. I don’t really think her life being in danger a couple times makes up for a lot if her behavior.

Thank the great Bun in the Sky they didn't go with the original idea. And that Whoopi Goldberg wasn't brought in either. Dodged 2 bullets there.

What was whoopi going to do on the movie? Good lord that sounds awful.

But I like Whoopi

Probably play a zebra.

kinda meh to be honest. The plot was pretty standard really.

If you can make Boxdog turning on the TV that compelling you could make a sheep living among wolves interesting.

better than pretty much anything disney has shat out in the last decade. at least it doesn't have shoehorned princess garbage and musical numbers. I could've lived without the breaking bad reference though.hope the sequel is good.

This was my first boner ;-;

I was so sad when he died. But he died an incredibly anime death, so I suppose it was for the best.

My first one was to Nala. As an adult now with more experience, I can say your kid boner had better taste than mine.

oh hush, i find the concept of animal apartheid fascinating.
Fingers crossied for the return of Wilde times.
m.youtube.com/watch?v=Otot3oVIGdI

Put so much effort into predatory ghetto and not use it in movie.
So much wasted time and resources, all for naught.

>Original.
>Animal apartheid.
>Nick is just trying to get a job, but herbs are being actually dicks about it.
>Mafiosi Polar Bears.
>Shit is actually pretty dark and grim, different. Leaves a impression.

>Actual film.
>Furry pandering.
>Non-existent racism.
>Nick and Judy are... Literally nobodies.
>Main villain is a twerp sheep.
>Soft. Too soft and comfy to be memorable.
Yeah.

>Furry pandering.
Are you acting like original pitch didn't involve electro-stimulation and collars.

I think it was creator's favorite fetish: constant male suffering.

His hobby is causing terrible box office returns.

I'd give fucking anything to see their meeting with Pixar. They saw the pitch and were like "Oh god, what have you done?!"

you mean this?

m.youtube.com/watch?v=kpLX_gMwKms

Flynn/Eugene was a punching bag too.

Sup Forums needs to watch this movie, especially the denial of information part. Judy's logical conclusion from the information provided is that only predators go feral, but until it's clear why that is you can never say preys can't.

Best cop movie in a long time.

One of the best Pixar movies I ever saw.

Don't quote me on this but I think she was going to voice the original version of Honey Badger as the bunker-dwelling conspiracy nutjob.

Why coudn't MLP MOvie reach the same quality of writing as this movie? Both of them were with anthro animals. But MLP was treated as Emoji Movie while Zootopia is a second ascension of Lion King.

I don't think a second movie would be better than first movie but their universe deserve to be explored as a tv show or comic series.

I really liked this song. And i also liked that there was no other songs in the movie, like in other disney flicks. Just a story and character development.

It was honestly a lot better than I thought it would have been and I am glad that they didn't push any musical numbers into it since they would have been out of place. However, some characters I felt were under utilized or not fleshed out well enough outside of the main two protags (pic semi-related).

I really like Try Everything. I still listen to that shit...it's got a nice beat there.

Do not dis on Lord Byron's fetishes. He crammed everything he could into that movie.

Worst Disney song ever made. Single-handedly ruined the movie and convinced me to re-instate slavery.

It is really good movie which will be remembered only because of furry porn. Comunity, yey!

It's incredibly heavy handed in the delivery. Otherwise, it's a vehicle unto which the next generation of furries will be born.

He's Privileged White Scum.

He said so.

Hehheh.. you're just trying (poorly) to troll.

It was awesome. Anyone have this lithograph handed out at the D23 Expo in 2015 they want to sell me?

Compulsively rewatchable. Easily the best animated Disney movie of the past 15 years.

I liked it. Judy is a cute.

I thought that the chief's comment that you don't always get what you want and that life isn't always fair was a decent message, and then the film went back to the dream-believe-achieve message. Like, she was on her first job and expected to do detective shit? It made it very hard to sympathise with her character. Overall, I could look past that grievance. Good film, one of the best from Disney lately.
