How low can you go?

You are right, but this is the A-wing chick, not the sister.

Sister is pic related.

>master ship

>implying Sup Forums raiding and spamming it with dislikes means anything

>93
That's not bad

there's no such thing as JJfags.
t. Trekfag

>not the John Williams Superman theme

apply yourself.

Reminder that Snoke's backstory and motives are never going to be seen in film

And suddenly Sup Forums pretends like they care about RT

>master race

He's just going to come back from the dead again

IM JUST TESTING MY NEW LIGHTSABER GO BACK TO SLEEP

I liked it, but there's a bunch of small things I would've changed about it. I walked out feeling fairly fulfilled, but I think I enjoyed the experience of watching Rogue One more because I'm a philistine who likes violence.

My least favorite parts were probably:
>The shit with the casino and setting up the class rebellion and the kids and the horseback sequence, it just didn't engage me at all and I usually love the casino setting- it just didn't click with me for star wars
>Why the fuck didn't the pink hair vice-admiral assure Poe that there was actually a plan instead of looking like a retard and acting like there wasn't actually a plan? Was there some kind of greater scheme there, some kind of "you don't need to know?" She would've been FUCKED if that steam pipe wasn't right there. I would've liked the character's sacrifice a lot more if the devices to make you dislike her early on didn't feel so contrived.
>I was annoyed that the Republic Capitol got destroyed in TFA, but I was under the impression that we'd get republic remnants joining the fight against the rebels- literally the first thing you see is that they're all dead. This isn't Rian's fault, but fuck off, they even drop the pretense and start calling the resistance the 'rebels' again. Are we going to call the first order the empire again in the next one? Not sure if I'm sold on the idea of it being a full scale popular uprising in the next one, either.
>Phasma, period. Is it just a tradition now to make the cool Boba-esque character die a stupid and humiliating death? She's got a fun design played by an amazing actress with loads of charisma, and what happens? You get a few seconds of her being cool then haha elevator goes back up I'M REBEL SCUM dead. I actually kinda like Finn and I restrained myself from going "okay." after that scene, it pissed me off.

reposting because i want to talk about the movie

TLJ was garbage and worse than R1. Are you telling me that the SUPREMACY and 5 other SDs couldn't send out enough fighters and bombers to BTFO of 3 small cruisers instead of that fucking retarded space chase scene. Or how come that retarded Tumblr admiral refused to tell Poe what the plan was indirectly leading to countless unnecessary deaths or how they completely butchered Luke's character. Fuck You

>You have spunk, girl.
>Oh, Supreme Leader, you don't know the half of it! *pulls pants down*

Oh, and the pacing. I felt like the movie had so many characters and setpieces it was focusing on all at once it was going even faster than Rogue One, I would've rather it focused on a few characters rather than throw all of this shit at us and leave a few major characters completely unexplored other than as obstacles. It did a decently better job at this than R1 I think, at least.

did he actually say spunk?
thats kind of offputting innit?

I can only imagine that if I listened in on Disney executive phone calls right now all I'd hear is demonic screeches

Tallie makes me uncomfortable because she's hot but she also kinda looks like that brainlet Jenny girl, and I autistically waited in the credits to make sure it wasn't her

>Hux survived two movies
>Hux outlived Phasma and fucking Snoke

Damn... I hope this is building up to a glorious Krennic Tier death for this fucker.

5>4>6>7=8>Rogue One>3>2>Holiday Special>1

I know it's basically impossible to have a civilized discussion about this movie right now but personally I really enjoyed it and thought it was better than TFA. I'll have to give it more viewings but I loved how it took risks and did some wild, out there, new things. There are definitely things I didn't like, such as how Hux was treated like a joke, the Finn and Rose subplot, and Leia's Superman moment, but what was good (basically everything with Luke and the final act) was just SO good in my opinion. We'll see how I feel within the next year or so but so far I was impressed and I think the knee-jerk reactions are a bit unfounded.

You really think Sup Forums is 60,000+ people, all conspiring to destroy the movie?

>is an amoral mercenary who only cares about bettering himself
>is the ONLY character in the movie who exits better than he arrived, with no losses sustained, after betraying the good guys
This flies in the face of all Star Wars morality. I can only assume DJ was Director Johnson's metaphor for him coming in and trashing Star Wars to boost his career.

Yes and it was.

More likely discussing firing Kennedy if TLJ underperforms, shes already in the shitter for Solo development hell

...

>You have spunk, girl.
>A-actually, it's Kylo's. (blushes)

I knew something was very, very wrong when the movie opened with the heroes destroying the Dreadnought. At this point they'd never even taken down a FO Star Destroyer before.

It just reeked of the "bigger and badder!" mentality that JJ had when he gave us Snoke and Starkiller Base, and it pretty accurately foreshadowed how the rest of the film was going to be handled.

He was a really weird character, too. He comes into a star wars movie, starts talking about the fucking WAR ECONOMY, and leaves.

Where the fuck is this going to go, Rian?

So how did Ezra end up with a speech impediment?

I'd suck Rey's Futa cock

THERE AIN'T NO L-L-L-LIGHT S-S-S-IDE, THERE AIN'T NO D-D-D-DARK S-S-S-IDE, THERE'SSS ONLY G-G-G-GRAY.

I agree with it being better than TFA, luke thing is mixed with me (good but could have been better). But this movie just feels closed off to me, like these characters did not have lives before or after TFA or this one. Even though the water cooler scenes were amazing (snoke death, hyperdrive kamikaze, big FO equipment, etc...) it just felt like they made star wars small, self contained. Like the whole movie was to end not just TFA, but star wars.

I hope Phasma shows up in the next one somehow, being a canonical version of Boba Fett's sarlaac escape.

I want it to be a tradition for Phasma to narrowly escape death every movie

strawpoll.me/14626358

>Hire good looking Asian
>kill her & keep the ugly fat one around

>7 and 8 higher than any of the prequels
>episode 1 that low
How does it feel to have no taste or original thoughts of your own?

So between TFA and TLJ, they have successfully rehashed all the story beats and visuals of the OT.

Tatooine, Endor, the Death Star, Hoth, the Rebels being wiped out, Sheev and Vader turning and killing him, the old mentors dying, fucking all of it.

IX will have to do something new now, and yet we're three movies too late for that, and nobody is going to trust JJ. What the fuck now?

Hux IS a joke though.

That's the point. The good guys fail in this movie because part of life is accepting that you're going to fail at times. Hell even the bad guys fail so it's more about the good guys failing and learning from their mistakes while the bad guys (Kylo) fail and double down on their refusal to accept it and move on (Kylo doubling down on his devotion to the dark side). The only person that wins in this movie is the guy with no convictions because that's just how life is at times. However DJ is alone and never learns any lessons or gains any wisdom in this movie and in that sense you can say he's 'lost', at least I feel Yoda would consider him having 'lost' in this context.

I'm disappointed that after seeing Luke's X-wing in the ocean we didn't get a scene of him lifting it out

I felt kind of the opposite, actually. To me it felt like this movie was the start of a pivotal change in the trajectory of the saga. The fact that things can get so different is a bit off-putting to people and even me to an extent, but it seems interesting.

For better or for worse, it reminds me of how Legend of Korra basically bucked the prior series' traditions and opened up a new path for the lore to go.

>Rose shooting Phasma's armor and the blaster bolt bouncing off like it did when the armor was still a ship on Parnassos
>Luke fishing with that giant pole
>Luke's Pillio compass seen for half a second
>Fathier race track and the jockeys
>everything about Holdo and Crait
Journey to TLJ did pretty well this time around. Better than JtTFA did.

I walked out of it enjoying it and feeling fulfilled but then I talked about all the shit about it I didn't like for like an hour. I guess that's just how I am.

I liked watching Kylo and Rey go to work on the royal guards a LOT, the hyperdrime kamikaze would've been cool if the leadup with that character hadn't felt weirldy contrived, the opening bomber run was fucking awesome, the Yoda scene was actually really well handled... But then there's so much stuff that's like "why did they do that?" or "where is this leading?" to the point of "holy shit why" with one or two scenes.

>That topless scene

I swear Kylo had the biggest tits in the movie second only to Luke's space cow.

Reminder Revenge Of The Sith is still the Top greatest Star Wars movie
And still the current best SW to date.

Empire still big top dog.

>wanting more rehash shit

There's only one movie left, so I'm guessing in the next one she trips on a landmine and all that's left is her smoking charred helmet.

And then she comes back in Rian's trilogy anyway.

>Mat pat sperging out about Han and Leia being Rey's parents
>her parents are literally being called out in the movie as being nobodies who sold her for drinking money

FUCKING KEK

RLM BTFO

No, the change is great, I agree there, it's just, why make TFA to just end it and not just go out and do the new. I dunno, I feel both happy and that Half Life 3 was cancelled again at the same time. They had to kill my past to make a new thing instead of just making a new thing.

I wouldn't it put it pass her to have survived that inferno in that armor of hers, it was made from this guy's yacht after all.

>yfw Disney sees the polarizing reactions to TLJ and gives the new trilogy to JJ instead

ESB > RotJ > TLJ > ANH = RotS > R1 > TPM > AotC

if I could split Jedi into two parts, before and after Jabba's palace, then the later half of the movie would rank above ESB, and the prior part just behind The Last Jedi. Clone Wars movie is under AotC if it counts.

>the last time we see him try it he was still learning and failed at it
>seeing him lifting it now as a master who can do the feat with ease is rehash shit

go reeeee somewhere else

>Han and Luke are dead, but their actors aren't
>Leia survives, but her actor didn't

Well TFA was so absurdly safe that it fucking offended me. There were parts of TLJ that I didn't like, parts I wasn't sure about, but at least it felt like I was watching a new movie and not "a new hope with all your favorite characters and an exciting new cast!"

Thanks Sup Forums.

For fucks sake, why does every Star Wars reviewer feel obligated to shit on the prequels before even starting to talk about the movie at hand? This shit is getting ridiculous.

Luke can become a force ghost, he's fine even when he dies.

TFA was taking the series into a disturbing status quo. After I saw the movie for the first time all I could think was how the stage was set for the whole trilogy to just be a redo of the OT. Now with this movie I feel that there are so many bold new directions the trilogy could go. I think cancelling out some of the TFA additions was a good move, but that's just me, I can see why it upset some people.

This but unironically.

He gets fucked up in season 4 dude, just wait.

oh ye of little faith

It's explained in Star Wars: Captain Phasma v3 #173 (part of Journey to Star Wars: The Revengening of the Gray Jedi) that she managed to survive the landmine by bouncing off her helmet. It's utterly absurd, but fans praise it as an inventive and clever way to bring her back.

Reminder that we didn't need that for the Emperor to enjoy the OT.

...

>tfw living the super-rich chad life selling weapons to both sides as opposed to the loser who wasted his life splitting the galaxy in two so he could one day "run" it

...

>super-rich chad life selling weapons to both sides

We'll get notQ'onos and notVulcan

I wasn't being ironic.

>Is it just a tradition now to make the cool Boba-esque character die a stupid and humiliating death?
>Boba
>Maul
>Grievous
It's always been a tradition, user.

>not Sins of the Father

He kind of fucked up with the training of Kylo.

Maul had one of best duels and theme of the franchise. He doesn't belong in that list.

T_T
She was too pure for this rotten era

>OG Mudd: Hondo "nicest scoundrel you will ever meet" Ohnaka
>NuMudd: D "twisted fucking criminal scumbag" J

6>4>R1>5>3>8>7>1>2

Jedi is my favorite, but ANH is the only one that's objectively kino.

Read the post nigga. If the really pointless but cool jabba's palace scene didnt exist, RotJ would have been my number one. and please, i havent ever been to that place, and I have no desire to make the leap.

Okay, that's fair. DotF is a solid 11/10. But as a character, he was literally nothing more than some cool facepaint.

I read a motherfucking BOOK for this bitch, I actually got hyped for Phasma after the disaster that was TFA

You can not comprehend the anger I feel right now. The spark is real alright, the spark to burn my heart with rage. I want to fucking cry, the entire movie was just "oh shit, its about to get hype!" immediately followed by a depressing cockblock.

Grievous did Fuck up Obiwan before he died. Plus it took 6 shots to kill him. Beast.

think about it

>let rey look ugly to the other women

>ESB as best
>Prequels below everything
>not from Sup Forums
>implying
well if you're not, then you're fucking dumb. I'm not going to say you're letting RLM think for you, but you do have bad opinions

>Iden was a traitor in an utterly uninteresting straightforward star wars story and the expansion didn't change a fucking thing
>rogue one is a black sheep despite trying something new and it just happens to hit your personal precise niche
>TFA offered an awful setup
>TLJ, the first ST movie to innovate, is kinda weird and you're not sure what to think about it which probably means a lot of normies are going to outright hate it and we'll be back to basic-ass JJ poetry

Died a virgin loser.
He is truly /ourguy/.

Anyone have PDFs of the Art of Star Wars books?

>getting hyped for Phasma
You have no one to blame but yourself.

sorry books only get written about REAL fan favorites

Lucasfilm Story Group is good, I still trust them overall, they've done so well building Canon up, but the execution of the ST movies is just a fucking disaster. They should have NEVER done a ST. Do all the spin-off's you like, make it a true "cinematic universe", Solo, Obi-Wan, Rogue One, Fuck it do some Bounty Hunter movies based on Cad Bane and Boba Fett, and then a team-up movie like Suicide Squad (but good) including Bossk, Dengar, ect.

They're doing so good with the rest of Canon. But trying to continue the main saga? What the fuck were they thinking?

Filoni, please god save us. I need the Rebels finale to wash TLJ out of my mouth, like Twilight of the Apprentice did to TFA.
