Just came back from watching the movie and honestly i don't know what to think of it. The pacing was great but some scenes felt like a waste of time. Finn's adventure on the Casino planet and Poe doubting Holdo only to be revealed she was actually good were boring. Luke Vs Kylo was underwhelming and Snoke felt more like a MCU villain cracking jokes than a SW one, not to mention he was barely a character. Phasma appeared way too late into the plot and died pathetically without doing anything(Also, I think this time she died for real). Some other scenes were great though, Yoda burning the tree was a nice "Let go of the past" message and wasn't insulting at all. The comedy was the same as In TFA and wasn't MCU Tier as many said it was. Overall I think the movie was ok. Definitely gotta give props to Rian for giving the trio (Poe, Finn and Rey) their own plots. That said, I don't really feel hype for Ep 9.

I have literally just left the cinema and I have never felt so conflicted about a film before.
How is it possible to enjoy a film but dislike it so much? This was TFA part 2, it was rushed trash.
The most offensive thing was the complete ruining of Luke's character. What was the entire point of ROTJ now? The entire point of that film was Luke resisted the dark side and is a confident jedi. Now he's has doubts, is a hermit and believes that he should just do an anakin and just slice down a kid. We have never seen Luke act like that. Fuck these films and fuck Disney.
Also, why have they made the galaxy feel so small? Every battle feels like two gangs in a tiny skirmish. I miss the prequels and their worldbuilding. You felt that the galaxy was huge and the war was huge. This was just a mess and I hate myself for hyping it up.

I honestly loved the way they killed him. I would not change a thing. His backstory would not have added a thing to the film, because it was already so jampacked with story lines. Snoke's backstory is meaningless in terms of TLJ's scope. He's just Sheev 2.0, but Rian had the balls to kill him off which make's Kylo's character arc much more interesting. Now Kylo is the master.

We will not agree on that. Just because she never devoted herself to the Jedi ways doesn't mean she never learned anythjing about the Force. Whereas Sheev liked to rule from a seat of absolute power and sow oppression top-down, Snoke believes that it’s more efficient to operate from the shadows and prolong the war as long as possible, attacking either the Republic or First Order when either own gains an advantage, therefore prolonging the suffering and fuelling the Dark Side.
