Was Stinky Pete really a bad guy?

Stinky Pete did nothing wrong in Toy Story 2. Kids are awful little shits and they totally do destroy toys. He tried to save Woody, but he wouldn't listen. Why was he a bad guy?

i'm so excited.

I was disappointed they didn't go to that toy museum in Japan.

I mean, he tried to force "someone" to do something against their will and that's pretty bad. Especially considering that something was spending eternity in a glass case without his loved ones.

>Stinky Pete stayed on a dime store shelf for years, likely marked down and his worth next to nothing because he was unpopular compared to Woody, Jessie, and Bullseye
>There likely were many of him who were also devalued and plentiful, he just got lucky being the one that Al bought
>Finally ascribed worth as a collector's item than a toy
>Sees via Bullseye and Jessie that children eventually get tired of their toys and leave them broken miserable messes to the whim of fate
>the most popular toy and hero of his media is finally found, his dreams of being loved forever are being realized
>Woody clings to his naive loyalty knowing the end and the likelihood of rotting in some landfill (Toy Story 3)
>Stinky Pete is forced away from the collector who could in time find another three for his collection and placed as the property of a little girl who defaces her toys
He's really a tragic figure with a fucked up backstory, moreso than Lotso, but at least he ended up the toy of a little girl. Those toys often end up part of elaborate soap opera drama than hardcore play and he likely was surrounded by a shit ton of barbies when playtime was done. Not a bad end compared to Lotso, really.

Lots O on the other hand was completely different

Sid was the real non-villain in Toy Story. All he was doing was exercising his creativity by experimenting with his toys in different ways. He had no idea they were sentient.

Technically, Woody is the villain in the first movie

Sid doesn't have any sort of real consequence thrown on him either. He gets a little scare, and grows up to be a healthy, productive adult.

>Little scare

Kids probably scarred for life and suffering from a paranoia that all toys are alive. He probably wonders what else is alive? Is your computer alive? Are your books alive? A building? Kid probably went insane.

I wish he died.

Reminder that this was their last chance at a clean death. Now the chances they’ll eventually end up torn apart, crippled, discarded, and left to watch their own bodies decay into the earth has reached 100%.

He was voiced by Kelsey Grammer that is all you need to be a bad guy.

>grows up to be a healthy, productive adult.
He's a garbage collector. Though whether he has that job because of his encounter with the toys or he's just stupid is anyone's guess.

garbage men earn good money

It's not glorious work but it isn't a bad job depending on the state he can be making really good money.

Blinky, Beast and Frasier say hi.

>good pay
>excellent benefits
>pension
>job will always be in demand
>job cannot be outsourced or automated on a mass scale

Yeah, he sure is a failure right? Cause pulling down 20+/hr to start at age 18 in a union job is so crap. And hey, who says he's not just working for a few years before going on to get a degree?

how does toy sentience work with shit like lego and mix-match toys.

I would assume the head controls the body. Much like Sid’s mutant toys.

Woddy was forcing him to go back to the warehouse against his will by refusing to go to Japan with him, so the same can be said for the heroes.

You get great benefits as trash collection because nobody else wants to do it

>good pay
>benefits
>pension
>regular hours
>unionized
Want to know how I know you're underage?

He was bad because he took the choice away from Jessie, Woody and Bullseye (though I think as long as Bullseye was with Jessie he would've been happy).

He has a point, the last movie kinda proves a good one at why even being a hand me down might not be helpful (A lot of kids are rough AF with their toys, there's no guarantee Andy's kids would treat them with the same care. I mean, Andy's sister doesn't give a shit about her toys when she's giving them away. She's upset because they're HER things but she can live without them.

But you can't force others to agree with you or live by your decision just because you think they'll be safer.

Spiderman! For the last time, stop using my hands to masturbate!
They're not YOUR hands Hulk....

Somebody post this Mr Potato Head pasta

>He was bad because he took the choice away from Jessie, Woody and Bullseye (though I think as long as Bullseye was with Jessie he would've been happy).
To be fair, if the majority is wrong and their decision will head you towards a terrible fate I would consider staging a coup.

>Dude, sacrifice yourself for me
>No way, just come with us
>You piece of shit don't you know who I am? Some hero you turned out to be

Reminder that when the movie came out a torrent went around that cut to credits before they got saved, so a bunch of kids whose parents pirated it probably thought the movie ended with them all dying.

He was wrong but I felt sorry for him. He was the least-liked character of a tv show who nobody wanted. He never had a home. Was never played with. Was never loved. For a toy that had got to sting.

I hope they bring back old characters

Good. Stop being a cheap fuck.

He was the garbage collector, he clearly got over his fear of toys and even went on to have a Lotso bear.

I hope the toys meet a nice old man analog that turns out to be evil and wants to turn them away from their owner for his own selfish desires.

He is a villain who has this status because he is simply antagonistic towards the established protagonist of the story.

Both goals of the two characters are logical and could be easily seen as the 'correct' choice. this is what makes him a villain and a pretty good one.

well he did steal and dismember his sisters toys and treated his dog like shit

That was way different and you know it.

i'm pretty sure garbagemen are more wealthy and contribute more to society than the entirety of your generation

Ron Jeremy is a garbage collector(Yes it is true) Used to be a world famous porn star. Is it worse to become a collector having already been a nobody or become a collector after being somebody?
