It was doomed from the beginning

>>Family Guy writer running Animaniacs

The original Animaniacs was nothing but pop culture references, non sequitur gags and risqué push-the-line humor. Hiring a Family Guy writer seems like an obvious choice.

Christ—people have been afraid that Warner would demand the new Animaniacs be softer and less rude than the original, but with the creative mind behind TED at the helm, we're going to get Animaniacs Adult Party Cartoon.
Rude but not even graceful and funny about it, just "let's all be assholes because fuck you."

No but it won't stop people from acting like it is.

>just "let's all be assholes because fuck you."

That's exactly what the Warners were in the original series, though. They were throwbacks to 1940s "screwball" characters like Woody Woodpecker and the original Daffy Duck, who were assholes who fucked with innocent people because lol.

If anything, this'll be keeping in tune with their original portrayal where all they did was pick a victim and harass them ceaselessly for 5 minutes for no reason.

could still be good, and if it's not, just ignore it

>reboot
I really hope it is a REBOOT, and not a sequel. I do not want this show ruined.

>Having any kind of hope for this at all

Thing is—in the 90s series, the Warners were /creative/ assholes. There's a huge difference between wild, creative brattiness with references to Gilbert and Sullivan and the Marx Brothers, and the rude-for-rude's-sake behavior of MacFarlane characters—or, for that matter, of any towel-snapping dudebro in high school who thinks he's a comedy genius, which is the crowd for whom Wild has traditionally written...

These

I'm not ready to dismiss this out of hand yet. WBA has been all over the place quality-wise, but they did produce some gems like Looney Tunes Show and Duck Dodgers.

I'd be more worried if they tried to produce a physical comedy-oriented show. We don't need another Wabbit.

>Ted
>Ted 2
>A Million Ways to Die in the West
>Dads

It's going to suck

So does Spielberg and the original creator have nothing to do with this reboot?

Oh wait Spielberg is actually working on this thing?

Tom Ruegger and none of the original writers were approached, and they were all upset about it on Facebook.

who?

I will not accept reboots done without blessings from the creators.

This is bait. Animaniacs isn't coming back and it never will.

Yeah kinda fits

user...

What?

You think the deal is gonna fall though, or what?

Who cares?
This show always sucked
Bring back Tiny Toons

It's not coming back. I just know it

Eh, Hulu already made a deal for two seasons, they're putting the team together, and they've set a 2020 release date. It could fall through, but it's probably getting made.

Wow, Marx brothers references, how creative, unique, clever and high brow.

You shouldn't accept reboots at all.

>bring back Bugs and daffy except now they’re tiny and colored differently

Dumb idea. Besides, there are many reboots I love, and consider better than the original.

Huh, that is pretty dang fitting.

And I know its a ways away till it gets posted to the public; but I really like to see the model sheets of the characters. Then I'll know if its gonna be shit or not.

Wonder what Famicom would have to say about this?

>implying the Ted movies are bad

I hope that fucker is dead somewhere and never coming back. That autist was a cancer to this board.

Famicom is TMS Fag, right? Is he really gone? Can we have threads about 90s Spielberg cartoons and Disney Afternoon cartoons again without it getting hijacked into bullshit about Hamtaro and Blue Jacket Lupin?

Hopefully Gargoyles is getting revived soon

Don't forget loli foot porn either. The dude had a thing for the loli feet in hamtaro and I think card captor sakura?

fpbp

>When the 2 or more characters argue, kiss, love each other while being voiced by the same actor/actress.

This is conflicting to say the least.

either one of those would be ruining it

Animaniacs is a product of it's time and specific circumstances. You can't catch that lightning in a bottle twice. A sequel would be awful because it would be nostalgia pandering to 90's culture, when the original show was topical and fairly current when it wasn't parodying "old" hollywood

or be a reboot, which would be awful because modern culture is awful, and it just wouldn't be the same show anymore

A depressing truth I guess.

I just don't want to see it get "edgy" with the push the line humor. It'll be pretty mediocre regardless, so I just don't know where exactly to place my expectations.

>tfw they all look like calarts monsters

LISTEN RIGHT THE FUCK OVER HERE

Your brand of pop culture references, non sequitur gags and risqué push-the-line humor IS GARBAGE COMPARED TO ACTUAL QUALITY EXECUTIONS.

I CAN GIVE YOU DIAMONDS, GOLD, SAPPHIRES, RUBIES, ONYX AND YOU"LL STILL MANAGE TO TURN GOLD INTO RUST.

Because you are just THAT fucking SHIT.

>wakko does a song about genders
>10 minutes long

>Wakko's 50 States and their Capitals song because the 50 Genders and their Pronouns song.

We've lived too long; it's time for us to die.

...

pls no

I concur, reboots are a dumb, creatively bankrupt idea that only fags approve of.

No they weren't, they were fucking cunts. Every warner segment I suffered through for a Pinky and the Brain segment just made me want to snap their fucking necks. The warners were shit.

People rank the Warner segments as the "good" segments alongside Slappy and Pinky & the Brain, but they were shit that languished down with the Hip Hippos and Buttons & Mindy. Every Warners short was just them desperately trying to force catchphrases for 5 minutes.

>BOINGY BOINGY BOINGY
>Mwa! G'night everybody!
>Dumber than advertised!
>I gotta go POTTY!
>FABOO!

And on and on and on. Just whitty writers trying to come up with something obnoxious to slap on a t-shirt. Their segments were garbage.

...

Its too bad John K is so controversial because he's so fucking right about this shit. The warners were like if you got a committee to try and recreate golden age cartoons. It feels like the writers trying to convince you how smart they are.

>Animaniacs if proof that script-driven cartoons are shit
>OK KO and SU are proof that board-driven cartoons are shit

So how the fuck do you make a GOOD cartoon then?

Neither of those statements are true.
I don't think you understand logic.

Stop making your kickstarted cartoon when it’s halfway done and complain about how not every cartoon looks like Hannah Barbara

what the fuck happened to Famicom?
