I liked it and actually didn't mind the changes made to the source material. The nightmare scene is rather contradictory to the plot and is one of more jarring things here, though.
I hate the animation. Or to be precise the absolute lack of any kind of flair. This setting should ooze climate with deep shadows and contrasting lights in the fog and yet it's so bland. Even the palette is hideous. It's a real shame.
Any attempts at inserting "grill powur" backfired horribly and it's just a more stuck up damsel in distress which is as hilarious as it is refreshing.
