Our political discourse is controlled by neoliberals and right-wingers. SDP needs to make coalitions with center and center-right parties to be of relevance. Then they hope their coalition buddies don't make a 180 and go full fascism.
HDZ is trying to sell itself as a neoliberal, right wing party, the kind that dominates Europe right now, i.e. MEP and Merkel's party in Germany. They are 'fiscally conservative' and 'socially liberal', meaning they will spend a lot on government and welfare programs, but usually at the expense of something else. They will rarely increase taxes or be 'hostile to business'.

That's what Croatia needs to do. Produce things. That is how you create value. You take raw materials and you turn them into useful people/countries want. China is becoming a super-power because of this. The only thing inhibiting China's growth is the population size.
Croatia used to have factories all over the place. Now we even privatized our most profitable company, INA. The leadership believes we can get rich through laissez-faire capitalism, by building resorts on the coast and inviting fat Germans and Austrians to fill the pockets of locals.

China drove its then small industry into the ground when Mao did this. They only started growing when they started removing regulations and restrictions on the market. Starting a company in China is far, far easier bureaucracy-wise than starting a company in Croatia. And how is human capital an inhibition? The gooks have shown that they can be productive.

If the leadership believed that we (or rather they) can get rich through lassiez-faire capitalism, we would have lassiez-faire capitalism. And as much as I despise tourism and think it brings out the worst in a society, people are getting rich through it, and I don't see why they should give a fuck about me despising them.
