I too have started writing numbers no so long ago, and I can say that there is literally nothing more entertaining than this.
But sometimes it's hard to concentrate, and if you mess up or write in the wrong digit, you have to destroy the notebook and start a new one from the beginning. Your friend is pretty amazing if he managed to fill hundreds of notebooks
