The benefit of living in the big city is that you meet more people. You have more freedom in forming your social life and choosing who to be friends with.

I live in the suburbs of a major city. I live close to work, bars and entertainment... But I realized that me and my wife don't use these things too often since we prefer being at home. I drove out to a place outside the city limits and immediately felt relaxed. I could see the stars and breathe. I now want to live in a small house 10 mins outside the city limits on a couple acres of land. The crime rates are low and the schools are good compared to where we live now.
