What exactly is communism according to Marxist-Leninists:

Well the USSR didn't remain shit. It did thrive in it's time. Capitalist reforms starting with Khrushchev led to it's eventual degeneration and collapse. And in the USSR and China the people's quality of life, education, health, etc. all improved greatly under socialism.

In a stateless society with no classes and full social ownership of the productive infrastructure, what would 'creating a new state' actually entail? Creating a new state at that point would entail some segment of the population breaking off economically from the global socialist economy. What would stop them is the rest of the people who liked the idea of having the global socialist state and shared, coordinated industry.

I don't have the statistics on hand but production of material goods and literacy and such steadily increased after switching to communism. I mean if you really want basic 'proof' just look at how the USSR became a modernized space faring superpower from a backwards country of serfs and feudal lords. And China used to be called the "sick man of Asia" and was a failed imperial dynasty under control by western colonial powers, but the communists turned all that around and now look at China today.
As to the doctor vs.burger flipper thing, think of it like this. Economic equality promotes social harmony. Nobody will have a good reason to steal if everyone has the same overall level of wealth. If you have an underclass of lesser paid people there will be more crime. Still, people can be rewarded for hard or difficult work by other means than money. They can be given honors/celebrations of their achievements, social praise/prestige, etc. Actually doctors are like that now, highly respected for what they do. Ultimately we should stop valuing ourselves by how much money we make, and seek more wholesome sources of satisfaction.
