The Communist and Socialist ideal has worked quite a few times my friend. For example; Yugoslavia was based off a socialist model and became an economic powerhouse from ruins. Standards of living were high and the people of the nation were united against the capitalist threat. It only faced collapse, not because of its economic problems, but rather CIA infiltration and reagen funding of nationalists.
As for why it will work in the future, it is inevitable. The internal contradictions of Capitalism cannot stand, as more labor is discarded in favor of automation and outsourcing, the pool of workers and consumers will fall and the people will want their work and production back. Leading to the people wanting to take back their labor in a democratic economy.

There are other incentives than just "money.". In communism, your work directly benefits you, and society. So you don't face worker's alienation like in Capitalism. If one wants to be a doctor, they can be a doctor if its something they genuinely are interested in.

You haven't told me how it benefits me to be working in a communistic system though. In a capitalistic system, you work, then you get paid for your work (whether it be fixed or dependent for the amount of work you do). That money is used to spend on other goods and services, which is a net benefit to me.How does it benefit me to work in a communistic system if say I;'m a farmer and I'm living in the middle of nowhere. How would socialism help me then. In capitalism, I still have an incentive to join the system due to my need for food and luxuries that help me farm.
In addition, how would this affect the quality of the materials that I'm buying. In capitalism, the materials must be made to the highest standard in order to assure the customer. What about socialism? Don't tell me that it will magically be of the highest quality.Give me the reason why it will be made so that everything is of high quality.

Under capitalism, profit margins come before need. It's why perfectly good food gets wasted and why corporate farming is such an increasingly common cancer. Food is merely a commodity and you are seen as replaceable. Under socialism, the recognition of farming as a socially productive need would mean you would be supported. Not giant agricultural corporations like Monsanto.

Capitalism is competition. It allows for innovation and doing things in a more efficient manner. Of course there is going to be waste. Just like there's waste in Darwinistic evolution.
Communism doesn't allow for that since there is no real incentive to change anything, hence it usually stagnates and causes the system itself to crumble
