The reason most of the world is capitalist, as well as has some form of liberal democracy (which allows capitalism to flourish) is because they saw the UK and USA doing it and realized it worked really fucking well so they did it too.
There can be some management. But even authoritarian-esque societies like Singapore, Hong Kong, South Korea, Taiwan are nowhere near socialist or marxist. And they do very well, basically 1st world-tier, whereas only 60 years ago they were Africa-tier.
