Presidential pardon

What are the limits of the power of presidential pardon?
Hypothetically, could trump not get one of his mates to introduce a bill to build the wall in congress, then announce publically he'll pardon anyone who murders a senator who votes against it? It seems the most efficient and masculine way of getting shit done

They'd quickly learn that 'my will be done'

if he publicly does that, he would be impeached and jailed for murder of the 1st degree or consensual homicide

Ayy, not even president yet and he's already cleansing America from degeneracy.

yea and he should get the guy to cut the senators hands off and nail them to the senate door as a warning to the other senators not to cross him

Pardons only work for federal crimes (so they can't pardon somebody tried and convicted of a state crime), and if he tried to do something like that, he'd be immediately impeached, and the American people would probably revolt.

Governors, on the other hand, can pardon people for state crimes in their state, but obviously not for federal crimes.

>linking this shit site still instead of having a proper discussion about said topic

bet you're a discord fag too

That's ridiculous, didn't America have separation of powers? Why can the executive meddle in the judiciary?

Isn't murder a federal crime?

Because it's a power granted to him by the Constitution. I thought that was obvious.

But that's wrong though, the President shouldn't have the power to exonerate anyone from their crimes.

How many killed themselves during the last year?

>it's in the Constitution

So yeah, he kinda can dummy.

The idea is checks and balances of one another. The pardon is one such mechanism of that balance of power, allowing the executive branch to have a measure of control over the judicial branch (as well as legislative branch, to an extent). This is important, as the judicial branch is often the one least beholden to the other two.
Depending on the circumstances of the crime, one could be charged in federal court, or a state court. For example, if you murder somebody in a national park, it's a federal crime. If you murder somebody in Detroit, it's a state crime.

>something that would of happened no matter who was elected
It's rained a few times since too

Typical over dramatic transfags.

Seriously transfags have a higher suicide rate so hearing this happen isn't surprising.

Figures that someone with a mental illness like that would be emotionally unstable with life.

Too bad, he does.

The President ... shall have Power to grant Reprieves and Pardons for Offences against the United States, except in Cases of Impeachment.

He shouldn't. It's a bad idea, but it's the case.

Only countries with god-tier Constitutions may post in this thread.

Well I'm not arguing that he can't, dumbass, it's obvious he is granted the power by the Constitution, but it's just wrong.

They never expected a non-freemason to actually win

Separation of powers + checks and balances. Hence each branch has power over the other two.

This

Though I wouldn't be against it, a few Senators hanging from lamp posts would do this country good

>First (Temporary provision).- The Argentine Nation ratifies its legitimate and non-prescribing sovereignty over the Malvinas, Georgias del Sur and Sandwich del Sur Islands and over the corresponding maritime and insular zones, as they are an integral part of the National
territory.

>The recovery of said territories and the full exercise of sovereignty, respectful of the way of life of their inhabitants and according to the principles of international law, are a permanent and unrelinquished goal of the Argentine people.

>respectful of the way of life of their inhabitants and according to the principles of international law

>respectful of the way of life of their inhabitants
We cucked ourselves with our own Constitution.

presidential pardon only works on a federal offense. not state.
murder is in the state jurisdiction

What is a malvinas

Trans people always commit a lot of suicides, they are mentally unstable.
