Id say life was at least nominally better in the 80s due to increased social interation. As the post modern world advances we'll continue to have better qualities of life but higher rates of depression and suicide. To cut to the chase, yes i will be starting a neo amish sect where we only use technology produced in the 1980s or before.

nope.

There was no internet porn. You usually had to go to a porn shop to get some porn.

Obligatory

cuck

Fuck off m8, right in the feels.
Try talking to a stranger in a 7/11 today and you'll either scare them or start a fist fight.

It was better because it was the last decade America was still white.

I had almost forgotten. Then you posted it again.

Totally better from a social point of view.
Not so good from social and materialistic.

>Not so good from social and materialistic
*informational and materialistic

This. People have gotten too intellectual and the complete dominance of technology and deconstructionist, postmodern philosophy has destroyed the foundation of society. We have 30-40 years before complete collapse.

10cents less for more gulps.
>An absolute golden age

RIGHT IN THE FUCKING FEELS

Well, the movies were annoying. The action movies always had a male lead and an obligatory female eyecandy. So I remember being frustrated by that trope.

Overall I do think life was better.

You would have more women going "I am special because I'm a girl" but they also thought that men were special for being men.

Life generally felt more meaningful, and work for a white-collar professional was often a lot easier. There was a lot of eating out, wasting overtime money, and visiting strip clubs.

>was life better
Depends what you prefer. Things are pretty cheap now and we have better technology/information systems. But people were more upbeat and friendly, less cynical, spoiled and entitled back then.

>Tfw u will be alive to witness it

This is literally how hipsters came to be
>have own mini society in NYC
>ride around on bikes and use typewriters

>sexy underwear models delivered every day with the Newspaper
"advertisement"

You know, areas that are all white are still like this. They're expensive to live in but not all hope is lost. You just need money.

Things that sucked in the 80s
-no Internet porn
-carrying change to call your mom on a pay phone to pick you up
-VCRs
-going to Blockbuster to rent movies
-be kind, rewind
- atari 2600 is the best game platform
-commodore 64 the best computer
-good computer games come on 8 double sided 5.25" floppies
-having to write all of your book reports out by hand

>u will be alive to witness it
Imagine how German WWII veterans feel now

Take a look at the highschoolers from the 80s and 90s and compare them to today's. they look more like men and women and today's look pubescent still. It's strange.

I was a teen in the 80's, of course it was better. People weren't as pussified as they are today, the economy was better, movies and music weren't totally created by committees and focus groups yet.

>areas that are all white
They're either rich snobs or rednecks

>dem hips
>dat thigh gap

There were a lot less fat people at least so women with that kind of body were more common at least.

I mean there are more hot women now probably just because of how many more people are on the planet now, but as a percentage we have less because of the fat epidemic.

Also back then you could still get an education for pretty cheap.

good I'll show up with my 80's hipster gear in my 1988 toyota MR2

>Was life really better in the 80's
Well, there were more white people in the 80's so I'd say so.

We were more white and had more cultural confidence. Yes, it was better.

>rich snobs
Not really. That's what I thought they'd be when I lived in a trashy town but they're really not like that. If anything, poor people are far more judgmental and stuck up. Rednecks are a great meme but they're fun to hang out with. You won't get aids from the southern girls or robbed.

You just won best nu-male proto-hipster cuckpost of the week

Not really, there are a few communities here that are just young career people and not surprisingly it's pretty fucking white.

Also as much as I hate hipsters their neighborhoods aren't bad and they throw good parties so you can go that route. Rednecks are crass but they are super helpful and not judgemental, you gotta be able to bants though. Rich communities are 10/10, from my experience with these communities almost everyone knows each other and these people legit just leave their doors unlocked and let their neighbors go in and out of their homes. The people are all super friendly too, it's always the rich prominent people that offer me beer and to hang out after I'm done with work.

>You won't get aids from the southern girls
They're the biggest whores of the nation as far as I know

Some of them. The biggest whores from my experience were online dating girls. Most of them you meet and hook up with are married/taken

>My dad got to bang a gymnast like in your pic

I was created through utter beauty.

'60s baby here. It wasn't all that great. The media was intolerable and people were full of shit. '70s were the tits, though, but for you kids that must all be Starsky and Hutch, bell bottom jeans and roller discos.

What am I supposed to get out of this?

>few communities here that are just young career people
Please tell me how to find such ones. I'm ready to pay 1.5x of my current rent to move out of this multi-culti shithole

Look for newer planned communities in your city, usually there will be at least one that's in just the right price range and new enough to cause a lot of middle-upper middle young whites to flock there. One I used to party and hang out in a lot had maybe a handful of spics and one nigger in a 50% white city. Fun place, lots of parties and just general hanging out at random, always could find someone to do something, Opted not to move there though since I would have had to pay double what I pay now for a smaller place.

> "It's a smaaaall word after alllllll...."

nostalghia

I live next to such area and it's multi-culti. The area itself is white, but full of old people and young snobs

I was born in 1989 so I guess that was lost on me, either way it's just people talking in a convenience store though

Also if you're willing to drive extra try going just a bit past whatever suburb cities you may have, I've found a lot of kick ass white communities there and the housing land prices are usually great. Usually they tend to be family oriented though so it might be weird if you don't have kids.

>The area itself is white, but full of old people and young snobs
You just gotta find the right complex, the place I'm referencing is a pretty quick drive to a cheaper more multi culti shit zone and another quick drive for a yuppie zone.

or white people who try to act like niggers that are from the suburbs

>Was life really better in the 80's or does it only look better through nostalgia glasses?

Usually in a country that is growing economically social ills are reduced as time goes on. Well, our economy is bigger than it was in the 80's, and look at how miserable people are now.

I bet they were miserable. They probably thought it was a wonderful time because of the drugs however. Only the brightest individuals alive look at the world through a scope that is not limited to their own life, they know history and they have predictions of the future. Only they have genuine excitement in their lives. Everyone else was probably living in some kind of drug fog mixed in with faith in God and faith in a bigger state.

90s was slightly worse due to the rise irony/cynicism and then things went drastically downhill when normies starting using the internet with social media sites,

Cum inside and leave/10

The movies, music, and fashion was fucking awesome, the economy was great, and the country was still mostly white. It seems way better to me.
And regarding technology - I prefer NES games to most modern shit anyways.

Generally the culture of america has become more isolated and cautious of strangers (through sensationalized media focused on violence and crime like in the news).

People are less friendly to strangers, we're all just minding our own business.

In the video in particular you see total strangers smiling and having fun and talking.

People used to let their children wander around and explore, but now we're all afraid of pedophiles and rapists.

Hitchhiking used to be a viable way to get around.

That sort of thing.

That picture isn't from the 80s. She's holding a smartphone.

this is pretty cool. seen it posted a while ago too. never got what i'm supposed to be seeing here or understanding? can someone explain?
it's a cool video nonetheless.

They all became fatasses because of those insane slushi/soda sizes.

hair metal, valley girls, decade of bluepills

>endless conservatism
No

is street racing still a thing in merica?youtube.com/watch?v=qxwJ0T45EdI

People become fat because food is more cheap and tasty. Regular people can barely control their desire for satisfaction

>I prefer NES games to most modern shit anyways

I miss when games were just you put the cartridge in and after hitting the power button you're pretty much playing immediately, and they didn't require hours of time to actually get anywhere. Like Mario, Gradius, Contra, etc you're just playing immediately and you can put it down in 10 minutes if you want and you still had a good amount of fun.

given the hostility and just general shitty nature of humans in this time period, this video reflects how simple and worry-free life used to be

This is not how american society is at all today unless you live in a really small town. If you try talking to a stranger they'll usually take offense or think you are a psycho. Post a video of south african feels m8.

The stress free happy go lucky lifestyle. Everyone is open and chatty with each other. The atmosphere is just positive

Today our world is not like this. You go in 711 and the only staff are two miserable nig nogs and the only customer is some gangsta that if you look at will say 'SUP BICH u WANT soma DIS!?' everything now is dark and depressing in comparison and the magic of interaction in a tight knit community has vanished.

>Generally the culture of america has become more isolated and cautious of strangers
This is straight up due to increased number of non whites. I watched it happen in my own childhood neighborhood, when I was a kid and it was 95% white you had kids running around all the time doing stupid social kid shit but the blacks came in and started stealing and then they made it us vs them, had to get into fights with them all the time for access to the playground. Eventually white flight started and a bunch of spics came in. When I go through there now I don't see any kids and no one gives a fuck about each other. You cannot have a multi-cultural community because non whites don't integrate and just ruin shit, it's the sole cause of so many problems we have today.

1980s Ireland was a penniless shithole. You couldn't even buy condoms (people tried clingfilm). The UK hated you all because of the IRA bombing campaign.

So yeah, it was better if you were JR Ewing.

I was around in the 80s and they were OK, desu. Don't worry about nostalgia, just remember in 30 years kids will be wondering how cool it would be to go back to 2016 when we didn't have a refugee in every home and a tracking device embedded in our skulls.

Who cares. It's illustration. Women don't dress like this today. Sadly.

pure kino

>going to Blockbuster to rent movies
>sucked

Heem yourself, my man.

>To cut to the chase, yes i will be starting a neo amish sect where we only use technology produced in the 1980s or before.

10/10

Is this supposed to be nostalgia inducing?
It's not the 80's man, what you really miss is being young

I'm only 22 and I can remember how much more friendly my part of Britain was 15 years ago. Totally different to the states in this video, but I think most people are able to recall a little part of what life used to be like before multiculturalism&globalism.

>you have a collect call from"MomImDoneComePickMeUp"

For grown-ups the 80s was pretty shit. Reagan was a pretty bad president, he almost brought us to World War III, he messed up the economy, he was involved in scandal, and the only thing that saved him was his silver tongue and a bunch of loyal boot lickers.

For young people, the 80s was amazing. Great music, dance clubs, record stores, cozy BBSes for online geek get-togethers, phone phreaking was still a thing, D&D, arcades, video games were still a magical thing, arcade machines were literally everywhere and a pocket of quarters led to tons of fun, computers were still a magical thing, magazines were still a huge industry and were fun to buy, trading cards of all kinds (Garbage Pale Kids, etc), every kid owned a bicycle and you would ride all over the place, and the good times just kept coming.

And you had to not be a retard to use computers and BBSes back then too, unlike today where any retard with some cash can shitpost on the internet.

Some days I wish I could just be a kid again out riding my bike without a care in the world.

>that girl at 3:40

my life is so empty

This strikes me as something Kramer would do

we can never go back

>nostalgia
PRO TIP: you can't have nostalgia for something you never experienced, OP. What you're doing is called romanticizing the past.

Yes, the 80s were better.

life in the 80s was awesome until aids.

aids fucked things up.

>Usually in a country that is growing economically social ills are reduced as time goes on. Well, our economy is bigger than it was in the 80's, and look at how miserable people are now.

That’s not true at all. A booming economy can provide a thin veneer of prosperity to cover over social ills, but it is almost as likely to exacerbate them. The American economy boomed during the 1960s, but a lot of out most dramatic social ills (drug use, crime, family breakdown, etc) started taking off during that time period.

>going to blockbuster at the movies as a kid
>it was basically a candy shop too

what the fuck is wrong with you

jesus christ, I miss my America. I want it back. We can get it back, right lads? What do we need to do to get it back?

youtube.com/watch?v=W8n11y2lxrE&feature=youtu.be

and here is the 2014 version

>or does it only look better through nostalgia glasses?
That describes everything about the past. We glamorize the best aspects of the past but ignore the worst. That's why leftards like socialism, because in it's application before hordes of third worlders invaded, it worked but they want it to apply to everyone. And conservatards want to go back to rugged individualism even though that would mean forgoing the internet and most modern amenities.

The only gripe I would have had was always needing change for a pay phone, but everything else seems pretty based

Adults don't look like adults now. Dindus are the worst. But us yuros can tell if a guy is a yank, because often he will have cargo shorts and a baseball cap, whereas yuro blokes wouldn't wear that (holidays excepted) past the age of 13...

Everyone wants to look like a fucking teen. Look at some 70s chick in her 20s. She wants to look sexy and sophisticated. Same girl now wants to look like a fucking loli or just dresses like an actual child, unless she has to dress up for an occasion.

Absolutely agree. In games today you have to sit through so much fucking tutorial and story bullshit, and then the actual game isn't even worth it.

FPBP. I'll be there for your sect man. I want a small tribal feel though where it's like everyone is your extended family.

Immigration and political correctness aside, the worst thing about the modern world is that I feel nothing is authentic or genuine. It's like everything is ironic, sarcastic or an imitation of something in the past. There are no real cultures or people with real opinions. Everything just feels fake, everyone plays a role and everyone is virtue signalling.

Is that actually them?

"Mozzerella is good on pop tarts."

Jesus Christ is America really that bad nowadays?
I mean goofing around in a 24h shop is still entirely possible in Germany

maybe you just grew old

If you were a straight white person, AIDS literally didn't matter at all

That's direct result of globalisation

It's better than it was in, say, the 1700's. People learn their behavior from their parents. If the parents are fascists then I think they kids are liable to act that way, so you see those government types in times of authoritarian parenting. Now many parents are more fair with their children, maybe they encourage a kid to get a job from an early age and learn how to work in the free market. These are people who are going to understand trading with other people. If the parents are completely authoritarian, and this was more common in the past, then you see more authoritarian governments, again more common in the past. Better parenting makes people who want to trade only, not loot from people for the "social good" or whatever made up excuse people use to steal without feeling bad. You can influence a society based on how the children are raised. Are you surprised that the government has taken over education? They needed to in order to exist.

Back when men looked like men

Good seeing alot of diversity, racist old white men btfo

Yeah, its them 27 years later in the same 7-11 doing the same thing.

I imagine they feel something like
>at least I can die knowing I fought on the right side

Yes, you can't fool around in a 7-11 at night anymore because dindus will rob you and the store

Fugg, i remember sitting at the bowling alley and collect calling people
