Can atheists really justify a reason for living? If you truly believe this is all just one big coincidence then why even bother going on? You seriously believe there was nothing and then all the sudden there was something and that mindless something just happen to create the extremely fine tuned laws of the universe.
Atheist really?
I don't have a reason to keep going, I just do. It's instinctual. You know, because we developed instincts from our ancestors
how did God come into existence?
This question is as ridiculous as how atoms came into existence. There obviously has to be some form of external existence
>Can atheists really justify a reason for living?
Destroying all that the left represents sounds good enough.
Who cares if god exists or not, destroying degeneracy is more important
You are the universe experiencing itself, it has been debated and it makes way more sense that anything any religion can come up with
Yes, eternal as in energy is not destroyed. Your mind is not eternal, what makes you is
Or wiping out you right wing fags.
Neither side can be wiped out. If the Left wipes out the current Right Wing, then it'll rise again but with obvious differences and vice versa.
Politics, it's just one big game.
Yea pretty much
Good luck cuck. Dont forget we are the ones with guns.
Excellent thread, fucking bars and stars.
>If you truly believe this is all just one big coincidence then why even bother going on?
Do you really need purpose in your life to not kill yourself? That's not normal, just so you are aware. Are you going through some hard times, user?
Hey! What does an atheist scream during sex?
ME! ME! ME! I! I! I!
>i haven't formed the requisite words to describe my purpose because i am not conscious of it because i reject even the idea of purposefulness therefore i don't have to think about it
right well in that case, the rest of us will do all the leading, then. stop voting.
Yes. Cause it is the one life i have and i want to enjoy it while also helping others enjoy life as well.
I believe in God, but I don't think we have a purpose. And if we do, it's probably so convoluted we couldn't hope to understand it.
I'm just alive to enjoy it. Me moral, be principled, and hold those close to you. This life, If lived well, is worth more than gods kingdom.
Existentialism is too their philosophy btw, not shitty nihilism
>Can atheists really justify a reason for living?
Atheists usually respond with hedonism. They figure the reason for living is to obtain as much pleasure and as little pain/suffering as possible in their finite lives.
They believe you only live once, so you must get the most bang for your buck, and who cares what anyone else thinks.
God is the only thing that has always existed. "Time" and "identity" was created so God would forget that God is literally forever alone.
>Can atheists really justify a reason for living?
Can dogs? All dogs are atheists, you know. How do you justify a dog living? How do they? Should we just go ahead and kill them all now because according to you they'd never be able to justify living without going to church on Sunday, and they don't allow dogs in church.
Why wouldn't i live? Living is somewhat ok.
>always existed
now you're just going in circles.
Because what the fuck else is there to do? Kill yourself for no reason when you're literally going to die anyway no matter what?
I like drinking beer. I like fucking high school girls. I like eating at fancy restaurants. I like shooting sick ass guns from the back of an ATV in the desert. I like watching mudslimes die on the internet. In what sense do I need a reason to keep doing things that feel good? I'll keep doing things that feel good until I die, then I'll leave a bunch of hatemail with my lawyer to get sent out to all the faggots I don't like every year on my birthday for the next couple decades.
Don't ask so many questions, just start doing shit. Retard.
>2016
>needing "reasons" to live
faggots
>implying atheism and postmodernism ethical relativism isn't directly a cause of degeneracy
Atheists believe there is no objective morality. So any moral system is simply a matter of local time and place. Which explains cultural relativism. Which explains all degeneracy.
Atheists think morality is simply a matter of public opinion. If the greater mob thinks human sacrifice is fine, "who are we to judge"?
kek
I agree athiests are just like animals we cant expect them to act like us superior men
>You are the universe experiencing itself
Wow, the rare universe redpill on pol.
>says the guy who believes things without evidence
I hope most religious people aren't this obscenely retarded
>Can dogs? All dogs are atheists, you know. How do you justify a dog living? How do they?
Good point.
A dog doesn't think about it. It just operates on instinct.
>I am a believer, and I have no reason to live without Big Daddy watching over me ...
You are pathetic.
There is no meaning of life and there is no evidence for god. So theists deluded themselves to believe there is meaning
>superior men
>takes life advice from a book of fairy tales and is subservient to a make believe magician
neck yourself dumb dumb
>Can atheists really justify a reason for living?
i assume it hurts or is uncomfy to die
Wait are you guys actually Christians? Wtf why?
Because I like living enough.
What kind of reason to live is living for a magical being who created you? Just living to serve the master who created you but doesn't bother to interact with you doesn't sound appealing to me.
>religious people
>aren't retarded
That the whole point of religion, dude (make people be stupid)
the concept of eternity is not possible. if things have been eternally happening, then we will have never reached this point in time
and besides, scientific evidence shows that the universe is expanding and would have had to have come from a point of origin
what makes the most sense is that we lived in a closed system with an external force that had created it. We cannot understand this cause, hwoever, as we can only understand what we experience, and how can we experience something beyond the parameters of the universe which we are confined in?
>>takes life advice from book of fairy tales and is subservient to a make believe magician
not everyone who bashes you retarded athiests are religious my doggo friend :^)
lol Go over to /his/ and those guys are at each others throats over The Protestant Reformation.
Animals acknowledge the existence of God tough
Your newfag is showing
>>>Reddit.com
Athiest =/= sociopath
The Christianity meme didn't even pop up until 2013 or so.
What if he created himself?
What was he doing before he started creating shit? Just being all lonely? That's kind of sad.
>why do you do anything when you could just do nothing
Once you believe in cause in effect, every cause has a prior cause, all the way back in time, until there is either an infinite series of causes, or a first cause aka a causeless cause.
If there is an infinite series of causes then time has no beginning, so how can you speak of time?
If there is a first cause, that means every cause has a prior cause except for one, and if the first cause needs no prior cause, why does any other cause need a prior cause?
This goes back to the "origin" of the universe, the first second.
What could "cause" the first second?
Stephen Hawking suggests that the universe may have begun inside a black hole (where time does not exist), so that the emergence of time doesn't really have a cause. However, that posits the existence of a black hole that precedes the universe. What caused the black hole? I think most theories argue that black holes are caused by collapsing stars. However, that's still positing the existing of something BEFORE the universe.
And some philosophers believe that all logic is ultimately circular, that every "locical" conclusion is really just a restatement of a premise.
Others contend that the concept of "time" itself is circular. In 1908 J. M. E. McTaggart argued that since every event has the property of future and present and past, that time itself is a self-contradictory idea. And that one must "invoke" time to speak of time. That you cannot speak of time without relying on the concepts of past, present, future. That the concept of time can only be explained by the assumption of time.
Other philosophers contend that language is like a circle you step into.
Eternity can exist if this universe is just one cycle of and endless cycle of creation and destruction
Can theists really justify living? If this whole plane of existence is one inconsequential trip on the way to eternity, why bother?
Do religious people really have any morals? I mean, they just do what it says in some book because they want to be rewarded after life. They are either gullible or egoistic and in either case they do not possess any true morals in and of their own.
Life is an unbroken chain of chemistry that has been boiling for 4 billion years.
We all die but your life isn't really about you.
We are the results of our parents life's work and all the people we've met growing up.
If its our surroundings that create who we are, naturally the proper role of your life is to help the people you meet.
To love each other and to teach each other is what brings us better lives collectively.
I guess you can try and model yourself after Jesus, but that's not the message most american Christians seem to get from the Bible
Redneck philosophy. Just live like an animal.
>Animals acknowledge the existence of God tough
.... that is a genuinely insane statement. You would have to be off the rails to think that dogs are aware enough to give a flying fuck about the deeper questions in life. Seriously. They eat their own shit, and are scared of lemon wedges.
To a dog, its owner is god. All knowing, all powerful, all loving, all providing. That is about as religious as they get.
I like to fuck, drink and fight. I chase women and go to rock concerts. The only God is KEK the only order is chaos.
Normie Christians are such whinny pussy faggots. Go get your dick wet before you're meat in the ground you fuck.
Ahahahah are Mexicans actually this fucking dumb?
No wonder your country is in tatters.
Stay out of civilized places. You wont ever fit in
Wow, you refuted centuries of existentialism and nihilism with a Friends GIF.
You're an embarassment
Wait, you don't celebrate Christmas? What a shitty childhood.
>This question is as ridiculous as how atoms came into existence.
>he dosent know about nuclear fusion
I thought leaf philosophy peaked with "if you kill your enemies", but I'm proven wrong.
I mean, its tough, I struggle with that on a weekly basis. My ultimate reason is advancement of the species and the gathering of knowledge, but on other days it does seem quite pointless. Especially since the heat death is inevitable...
Religiously
That your lechianus, bro?
Dat feel wneh you don't celebrate christmass and your christmass tree got a communist star
Imagination
I would like to think people like you go to a afterlife even if you are not religious the fact that you go through life trying to make things better for your people and not just for your self is a good example of how selfless you are when you are compared to someone religious
I unironically believe this. Praise Jesus.
what do you define as morals?
Kek and meme magic is justification for living.
>the concept of eternity is not possible.
Sure it is.
Once you believe in cause in effect, every cause has a prior cause, all the way back in time, until there is either an infinite series of causes, or a first cause aka a causeless cause.
If there is an infinite series of causes, then time has no beginning, that is literally eternity, so how can you speak of time? Some have written that there is simply an eternal present, an eternal now, and that "time" is simply shouting out new numbers in the present.
If there is a first cause, that means every cause has a prior cause except for one, and if the first cause needs no prior cause, why does any other cause need a prior cause?
This goes back to the "origin" of the universe, the first second.
What could "cause" the first second?
If time does have a "beginning" then that makes the past goes all the way back in time until it stops (or time starts), but if the future keeps oncoming and if the future becoming present becoming the past keeps increasing the distance from the present to the origin of time, then that "start" can never be reached.
The universe could be expanding from a single point. But that doesn't refute the Big Bounce theory, that the Big Bang is an eternally recurring phenomenon. If you think the universe could have "started" once from nothing, why not again, and again and again and again?
I believe in both creationism and my own free-thinking philosophy and reasoning.
Anyways, I had a near death experience; I got a sharp pain in my heart, when I get a slight flash of an empty white room, with a yellowish light, no lamps, just light, and in this small flash I had this strong feeling of "nothingness", that I am "nothing", just like how atheists talk about, it was weird, i just felt like I am "nothing", there is "nothing", but that was all only for a half a second.
Ignorant religious folk like OP ask why atheists bother living if there is no reason to live. What about Christianity? If heaven is so great, why not just expedite the journey? Leave Earth to us heathens.
Pretty sure suicide is a sin.
I don't think so. I think humans are the only theists (we know of) in the known universe.
I think we only have evidence of humans believing in God, and no evidence of non-humans believing in God.
Since only humans believe in God, and since atheism is lack of beliefin God, that means everything in the universe that is not human is atheist.
>Can atheists really justify a reason for living?
sex
>Christmas is about JEEEEEZUZ nowadays
I think Apatheism is better if we are talking about animals
>baptize a child
>kill a child
>repent
>profit
What is the Holy Spirit? I never understood that?
Why not?
Atheism is lack of belief in God.
Every shark is atheist. Every bear is atheist. Every tiger is atheist.
Every killer bee is atheist.
Every virus, flesh eating virus, brain eatong amoeba is atheist.
Every cancer cell is atheist, every toxin producing cyanobacteria is atheist.
Every tsunami is atheist, every hurricane is atheist, every tornado is atheist.
Every planet-killing asteroid is atheist.
The vacuum of space is atheist. Radiation is atheist. A nuclear bomb is atheist.
None of those things believe in God. Based on all available evidence, only humans believe in God.
It's the fact that we have no purpose that I find living beautiful. Some will take this "no purpose" as just living for short-term happiness, like alcohol, drugs, hedonism, etc. but I think it gives us a real chance at personal fulfillment. Fulfillment is only met when you have happiness AND meaning. Because there is no religious aspect to a person's meaning, it can be found for each individual in both experience and environmental factors. It's the chance to find real answers in the world around you, not in death or through some external arbitrator, that gives me hope to live
Some people believe that yes, God was forever alone, and the universe is essentially one giant singleplayer roleplaying game that God plays alone to forget that brutal fact of reality.
Tfw I dont care either way, I dont deny God existing but I wouldnt call myself an atheist, I'm just passive to it all.
Would you recognize God if you saw Him?
Matthew 25:35-40
>"For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.' "Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?' "The King will reply, 'Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.'
Athiesm is another religion yes, we all know this.
Their religion is a godless one and therefor exists under circumstances mainly rooted in science.
Does they're opinion justify anything more than the next guy, couldn't tell ya.
Either way I'm going all in on this thing we call the moment, and when I cash my chips I'll be leaving with stacks or stats.
2ez
teenbro
We're one of the greatest chemical reactions in the Universe. What more do you need?
The Universe expanding did not need a 'creator' anymore than lightening did.
I don't think all religions believe in an afterlife. But they may believe that serving others is serving God.
Atheism means you're unconvinced of theistic claims. It's not a religion as the concept makes no sense.
You have just as much faith in the risen Christ as your ancestor OogaBooga did when he first saw lightning, and thought that it was the sky God 'Sparkyouchouch' punishing non-believers.
Tangible evidence sounds to me like materialism.
What if it takes multiple deities to create a Universe?
I don't need an 'ism' either prove your deity exists in reality or make a logical argument that proves your theistic premise.
That's ridiculous, I won't give that idea more than a second of thought or consideration. Just what about karma? And you better not deny karma too, you are human, and you've lived a full life, you knownexzactly what karma is. Were sort of meant to stay away from being bad.
Honestly Christmas as a religious holiday dead
Christianity as a religion is dead. according to modern "Christians" no one goes to hell and its OK to be a degenerate and a "christian"
Karma is pseudoscience.
why do we keep having these threads on religion its not like some Canada poster of some aussie poster is just going to come out of the floorboards and tell us the truth with undeniable evidence
>I need a magic sky daddy why don't you?
If you need to ask then its already too late for you.
>This question is as ridiculous as how atoms came into existence.
virtual particle pairs. together they cancel each other out, but they can split apart into real particles. hell even the atom is mostly empty space
the whole universe, for the most part, is nothing at all
Pretty sure that a chance to nut in the vagina of the woman in your picture is a good reason to live dude.
