Government is fighting to overturn the high courts decision(using a 400 year old law dragged up by a foreign millionaire) to make Brexit a parliament vote arguing the 17.4mn votes and 52% majority give them the mandate to go ahead.
Send all your energy for this crucial decision everyone. If it remains. Then a MP vote needs to happen regarding Brexit. If its overturned. Article 50 can be enacted without parliament approval before March 2017.

The plan is Article 50 before March 30th 2017. Which means leaving the EU in March 2019.

The Supreme Court are deciding on the nature of the Royal prerogative and if it can be used to trigger Article 50, even if that means overriding the The EEC and the Single European Act. If the court rules the prerogative is enough, May doesn't have to go to Parliament. If they say repealing the The EEC and the Single European Act requires another act of parliament, then she'll be forced to put article 50 to parliament, which will require it passing through the HoC and the Lords.
So the point is; maybe. But if this goes horribly wrong, and the Court says an act of parliament is needed AND it gets voted down, then we are in new territory and nobody knows what will happen.

It's quite simple, May will have the Fixed-term Parliaments Act repealed and call a snap election. Tthe parties will properly align themselves with the voters of the referendum and we'll almost certainly end up with an enormous Conservative majority that will then properly vote and behave as though we will be exiting the EU.
