And before you go "oh less prisoners saves money", that's not really a good point because a very small amount of criminals go to death's row anyway so it's mostly negligible.
Also don't say "Ohh it's so expensive to kill someone death row so it should be stopped" because that's actually not true. In the long run, keeping someone in prison for life without parole normally stacks 2 or 3 times the cost.
There is also a lot of evidence that the lethal injection is often done incorrectly and can cause massive pain to a paralyzed convict.
I want factual arguments or ethical concerns supported with factual information. Thanks.
just kick all the criminals out of the country not your problem anymore
Elijah Rogers
We tried that. It's called Australia.
Adam Hughes
They come back though. At least that happened a couple of times in our country, in which we almost don't have border control, and I read it happened a couple of times in USA with mexicans.
Jack Martinez
the reason liberals can claim capital punishment is expensive is because of inflated legal fees. I mean just think about the cost effectiveness of a bullet and a man- does that really cost thousands of dollar?
It's a solution to overcrowding, and I'm all for it. You say that it's a small amount of criminals and that's true, but every spot counts as far as I'm concerned
Isaac Brooks
we should bring back firing squads, or hanging, or even the fucking guillotine
Joshua Miller
Did you not fucking read what I just put on the OP, do you really fucking think that killing 20-30 people a fucking year is gonna solve overcrowding?
I'm all for the death penalty but ffs...
Josiah Roberts
I don't understand what's wrong with just shooting the death row convict. It's really cheap, kills them super fast, and it can be relatively clean if done correctly. I don't know why we have to use these extremely complicated and expensive drugs to slowly kill someone or have someone electrocuted for 5 mins straight.
Carson Gray
It's the only way to ensure that a serious criminal can never harm anyone ever again.
Case in point: Ted Bundy
Kayden Adams
Another shitty, flawed argument. You could ensure the person never harms anyone by locking them up for life without parole and possibly solitary confinement.
I'm playing devil's advocate here, and you guys are shitting all over the floor.
Jose Richardson
Sometimes I believe, in some serious situations, like the death of a child or a serial killer, they should suffer the same fate as their victims. They're gonna die anyway so why does it matter HOW they die?
Jaxson Foster
This is a common idea held by the pro-death penalty crowd, it is also one that I resonate with. The person must suffer in equal measure to the crime they've done. This is why we don't kill thieves or rapists, we just give them less/worst sentences.
Easton Gutierrez
>muh life is sacred
You are a shitty, flawed human. Go be christian somewhere else.
Kayden Scott
Go away retard, you can't even argue against the devil's advocate. That's not a reason to kill someone, it's not a valid reason to kill someone. A valid reason to kill someone would be the retribution argument, in that you deserve an equal amount of punishment to the weight of the crime you've done
Lincoln Gomez
>execution vs spending tax dollars to pay for a persons life sentance
How's that for a valid argument?
Colton Martin
Capital punishment is just a tool of getting rid off complete, irreversable human trash >b-but there is a chance to wrongly condemn an innocent! There is also a chance of a plane crashing and killing 200+people on board, yet we happily use them
Colton Murphy
Spending tax dollars on an extra 30-40 people. Gee, what an economic vacuum!!! Also keep in mind the cost for killing the person can be equal or half the cost of keeping them alive for life, so it's not even a major loss of money.
Retard.
David Hill
we should bring back public executions. Make it the main attraction at carnivals. Like on the weekends. Bring the kids, ride roller coasters, eat cotton candy, play games and win prizes, watch criminals get what they deserve.
Benjamin Evans
Yeah, but that would require massive cutting of red tape and supreme court decisions. Lethal injection is currently the most used and federally legal form of execution, and it just puts them to a coma. For some fucking reason, every other method is too "brutal". The courts believe that they should relieve the convict from as much pain as possible so they don't violate the 8th amendment, so that takes off hanging and electrocution from the table.
Julian Thompson
Well yes, it will take a lot in order for something like that to take off. On a serious note, at least half of the incarcerated are irredeemable. They will not produce for the community, they will not offer anything of value. Capitol punishment is a necessity. Also remember hearing that lethal injection is anything but painless, considering the countless ways there are to end a life, I'm sure there are more humane ways to go about it.
Cameron Adams
Don't do it cuz you get the wrong person sometimes
Nathan Scott
It's true, and the problem is then the anti-capital punishment people go "Ohhh you see! It still causes pain! Ban it!", which is retarded. Why ban capital punishment altogether when we can have it changed. I think a 9mm to the skull is a somewhat clean and very quick death, and it should be adopted.
Xavier Cooper
It's rare.
John Williams
My government should not have the right to take away my life when I am powerless and in its custody. For any reason, ever.
That's all there is to it, and those who disagree are fools.
Angel Sanchez
A bullet to the back of the head, severing the spine from the brain (fatal T). To quick to feel anything or even know what happened. Personally I believe the punishment should fit the crime. Serial pedos like the podestas should be hung by the balls and skinned alive.
Luke Murphy
I know that's fun and all but it violates the constitution.
Ryan Powell
>273 replies and 39 images omitted. Click here to view. Its good, the one redeeming quality of Texas if you ask me. >you murdered someone >So we murder you back The one redeeming thing about Texas, they burn their trash.
Jason Johnson
Eye for an eye style executions are outside the realm of possibility. My point is that serious crimes should be met with serious punishment, after a trial of coarse. Self defence, even negligence isn't exactly malicious intent, and all these things have to be considered.
Gabriel Ramirez
It doesn't matter. As long as there's a chance, however slim, that the legal system fucked up I can't see a way to justify capital punishment.
Even in the most apparently open and shut cases, there's always a very slight chance that someone fucked up.
Once someone's dead, that's it. No coming back from that (excluding mythical Jewish zombies). It's an act you cannot reverse. At least with prison time you can release them and compensate them.
And there's no way to eliminate that chance either. So it'll never be justified.
Aiden Butler
People die in all kind of stupid ways (car accidents, food poisoning, and such) just so we can have the civilization the way we like it. Even if there were a couple of people per year who are executed it's still worth it. But there is no epidemic of innocent people on death rows. You have to look wide and hard to find these cases.
Gavin Williams
Solitary is more inhumane then just killing them, that's torture.
Hudson Garcia
Accidental death isn't the same as a deliberate killing of someone by the state
Grayson Thomas
>It's rare So let's wait until it happens to you, or your children, or one of your parents and something like this happens youtube.com/watch?v=qLglbp4Ht6w But at least we're still executing people right?
