some hard-core Christians I know don't celebrate christmas.

Redpilled AF

Red pilled to celebrate it or redpilled to not celebrate it?

It's pretty good. It gets muslims and kikes riled up. The church, when expanding into Europe said that Jesus was born on Christmas but that is false. They did that to end the tradition of yule which was a holiday for northern Europe so that they could expand their influence. Thy did a lot of underhanded shit.

Redpilled not to celebrate a pagan tradition

To reiterate.
history.com/this-day-in-history/christ-is-born

Good time of the year where I get to spend some time with family and old friends who come back home to visit. Sure it's commercialized as fuck but you're not forced to buy in. Just ignore it and spread some cheer. Merry Christmas fuckers

youtu.be/1FL5meQegc0

It's awesome because people participate in traditions (mainly Christian) that they normally don't. It's a great time for some subtle red pilling over Christmas beers.

It's sort of a last bastion of Christianity in our culture, and we have to fight to keep the meaning true.

Inb4 hurr durr it's a pagan holiday

And the swastika was an Asian symbol of harmony.

Christmas is comfy. pic related is the cause of our butter crisis back in 2011.

Butter is the best. I don't allow margarine in my house.

Christmas is max comfy. Make a fire in the living room fireplace (gas one is downstairs) wife is making Christmas cookies, I'm sipping rye, Christmas music playing (preferably the classics) snow is falling outside. For a brief moment I'm in the past, isolated from the faggotry and treason of the world...

Indeed!

Is the celebration of the birth of Christ

i tought he was borned in April

January 7 according to the orthodox.

comfy

Jews took advantage of the holiday to make buck so now we have "happy holidays" and "santa claus" which is not what it used to be about, at least in the way it's used now.

It's great that people of any nationalities and faiths celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.
We can all be good christian people, at least for a day.

>Når natten er sort, så tenner vi lys og drar morket bort

nah, i clearly read somewhere on the internet he was born March/April, off course i shouldn't trust anything that's written on the internet but i as wondering if i should trust anything that's written in the bible aswell

Except the sun is born on December 25 each year?

Jesus was conceived around the end of December and born likely on Rosh Hashanah in September.

This is by tracking how pregnant Mary's cousin Elizabeth was (6 mos.) in March, when Elizabeth's husband was struck dumb having been a priest in the temple.

No way the census had people traveling in December.

No way the shepherds would be out in the field with their flocks by night in December.

December 25 is Saturnalia, the pagan festival commemorating the longest night, anticipating the coming of Spring. As with all things Catholic, they stole this from the pagans, and became pagans themselves.

he was born on the 5th of november, that should be well known

Yes, Saturnalia. Pagan winter solstice celebrations introduced into Constantine's catholic church wholesale. Yule log, silver and gold decorated evergreen trees, hot cross buns, exchanging of presents, the works.

All pagan.

Don't be an asshole, the calendar has been reformed various times, days and months are out of phase in ancient dates.

You live in a failed country. You should have to turn in your flag.

>Muh pagan bogeyman

Ok

Nah I'm pretty sure Christianity is just mostly Egyptian solar worship with a bit of other stuff added in.

It's fun. The only argument I have ever heard against it is "MUH PAGANISM", which is such pain to listen to like . To which I say fuck off. Christmas is one of the last things Is enjoyable and be considered innocent. Besides it's all about the traditions, and I love my family's tradition.

It's a good time.

You'd be right if you had not misspelled Catholicism.

sounds about right
it's don't
i don't care, i want the truth

Orthodox deny the validity of the common calendar.
Deny our cultural traditions.
Push their own ideas like it is the only truth.
They are a political psyop designed to undermine other cultures.
They hate us but love our money.

Merry (early) Christmas from Sweden

You're an idiot.

>living in the timeline where you can say Merry Christmas again
>not that Happy Holidays kike thing

I love Christmas. It's like Thanksgiving 2.0. I can sit around with my family, have a nice dinner, get shitfaced and bullshit about whatever. I mean, I normally do this on a Sunday evening but I get to see my extended family as well.

>mulled wine

Also nothing is better than the smell of a live pine tree in the living room, giving the whole home a nice, fresh aroma.

>Carola represents Swedish Christmas spirit...

vg.no/rampelys/carola-aapnet-hjemmet-sitt-for-flyktninger/a/23533304/

Happy Holidays is completely bullshit. It's not even HOLY-DAY, it's HOLY-NIGHT.

Have you seen Karl & Co? Pretty fun series. At least as funny as norwegian tv got at the time, or now for that matter.

>vg.no/rampelys/carola-aapnet-hjemmet-sitt-for-flyktninger/a/23533304/
I haven't, unfortunately.

Wrong link, sorry

I think it's comfy as fuck, and the song Silent Night brings tears to my eyes every time.

youtube.com/watch?v=JlxvmukW1AE

top comfy
best holiday

Yeah it has been pushed here for a long as I can remember (almost 30 now). It doesn't make sense because the only other holiday here is Hanukkah, and nobody celebrates that Kwanza bullshit. What about Sweden? Do you get publicly gang raped and stoned if you say Merry Christmas within earshot of a mudshit?

It's really comfy but I hate the commercialism.

youtube.com/watch?v=Qfo5LUoqS0E

This will be my first time seeing my father since he moved and I came back from abroad. I'm from New York so it usually snows here and is cold, but he lives in Florida. How does it feel to celebrate Christmas when it's 70F outside?

I know people who scrape and scrounge all year, just for a christmas savings account so they can buy stupid shit for other people.

Every year I take home bags of shit from my coworkers, and never get them anything. I didn't ask for any of it, and I've got bills to pay. Also any artist who has ever covered a christmas song should be absolute first in line on the day of the rope.

Nah, pretty much everyone says "god jul" in Scandinavia. No mention of Christ to get hung up on.

Why are you singing Sankta Lucia I thought that was a swedish tradition?

Also post comfy christmas songs

youtube.com/watch?v=D3bEi77wre8

IDK about rapists and stuff, actually.
There is also interesting thing in Sweden that those muslim people will take a day off when it is their Ramadan. It is completely BS and against the school rules.
IDK about those other Nordic countries or America if you guys have that shit.

youtube.com/watch?v=av0QpbAXHq8

this is still the most emotional Christmas movie.

the end was so sad.

The flag is a very nice touch.

That's my favourite Christmas song. There are a lot of good Danish ones too, but that one really is something special. Its world-wide appeal having been translated into just about every relevant language ever is proof of that.
youtube.com/watch?v=pmy26jptLRg

Norwegian churches are very beautiful, at least the ones I've been to in the mountains on ski vacations. Seeing the landscape around the church covered in half a meter of snow is highly calming and adds a lot of atmosphere.

It's up to the individual family to reject commercialism at Christmas.
Put a spending limit on presents and don't buy new decorations every year (or make your own, I recommend that). Christmas lights are also disgusting if you have more than one or two, preferably placed on bushes or small trees in your garden.

better version

Yeah I was joking, but if you want to take off for a religious holiday, I'm sure you can. Jews do it all the time for Hanukkah. I don't think that applies to Christmas because even if it falls on a weekday most places are closed, until you work in a service (fast food, movies, drug store etc.)

kek put on that vid in the background and suddenly *BOOM* allahu akbar music in the intro hits.

kek I thought I was the only one that realized that

You can't blame all of IL for Chicago.

Why is MI half red?

kek. You can never escape the mud.

Best holiday of the year. Kek approves and trips get a ultra rare collectible Santa Pepe 1st edition

Pretty damn comfy too.

Roros kirke is definitely maximum comfy at Christmas-time.

I can't recall ever hearing anything but "glædelig jul", but I haven't lived here in Aarhus for that long yet. Maybe it's different in a big city.

Get a load of the pedestrian street here.
Even worse, the old department store Salling is dressed up like a goddamn present, the entire facade is covered in christmas lights. It's really tasteless.

Life has been infinitely better since I dropped Christmas. The first year I felt bad about it, and a tad pious. Not my intention - just trying to bow out as graciously and respectfully as possible. I sent out cards to loved ones around thanksgiving, thanking them for being in my life and notifying that I will not be participating in Christmas. There was butthurt. I received gifts anyways and forked over the dough to mail it all back. The next year there was less resistance. Ten years later mom still tries but that's about it.

I'm not a grinch. I hope you have a Merry Christmas. But I absolutely LOVE not having to deal with any of it.

>Salling

Looks damn cool the first 3 seconds I look at it. Then I just think it's a bit sad. Indeed, very tasteless.

God jul, allesammans

OBLIGATORY

Glædelig jul

youtube.com/watch?v=_rzASYQYST8

Ya still love this song huh?

Everything is so much colder and less personable with those LED pedestrian lights and tacky banners everywhere. We've got a lot of the same in the bigger cities as well. Or even worse with shopping malls.

It's a shame because I though Aarhus was pretty nice to walk around in when I visited this summer.

I enjoy it

Expensive holiday. I haven't received anything worthwhile after 15. I tell people to not buy me a thing.

God jul

youtube.com/watch?v=KWyEWUN-1Jk

>expensive

kek. If you work in the banana fields.

I'm getting jeans, first gift in 5- 10 years?

Christ was born on Dec 25th- this is clear from the hard button Gospel account alone. All you need to do is compare Luke's writing with the Temple service schedule.

It was only very late that edgelords began to question the birthdate of Chrisy (and soon after His existance.). Orthodox also agree with Dec 25th. Jan 7 is Epiphany, which in some respects is the apex of the Christmas season.

T. Traditionalist Catholic

It is expensive unless you're the kind of piece of shit that gifts ' a shirt' or underwear. Clothing in general. Or the Jew that gifts those $10 shampoo or perfume sets from Walgreen's.
I'll gift you a mirror then ;^)

Maybe because it was so close. Or it was disputed at first. They did have a recount.

Did they account for the switch from Julian calendar
