I'm a 35 year old man. I work in a professional environment and have been doing software development for 11 years. I'm sane. Not schizophrenic, not bipolar, and I don't have any mental health issues at this time.
However, when I was in college, I was incredibly stressed out. I had anxiety related to school, but I figure it was probably normal levels for anyone experiencing lots of pressure while living in poverty. I contacted a school counselor to decompress my emotions a little bit, and we had a normal session without any outbursts of emotion or anything from me. She recommended I go see a psychiatrist who just happened to have an office right among the housing facilities.
I went in, and she prescribed me neurontin. I started taking it for anxiety, but it led to a whole host of psychological issues that had nothing to do with my ACTUAL problems. I went in again to talk about these psychological problems that the drugs were causing, and she suggested I take some other shit that I don't remember now, saying it would counteract the negative effects of neurontin. That shit led to a psychotic episode that almost got me kicked out of school. Instead of taking me off the stuff, the psychiatrist decided I was schizophrenic and put me on haloperidol, without reducing the doses of my prior two medications. I was out of my mind and completely unaware of what was happening to me. I was terrified I was going insane, so I stuck to her regiment and took every pill she recommended.
I wound up in the hospital. On the way there, the paramedics asked what medications I was on, and I told him, with doses, all of it. He shook his head and said I need a different doctor.
I spent 4 days under observation, and met with a different doctor who told me to stop taking so much of my pills. I opted to go without any pills at all once they released me from the hospital, and I slowly returned to sanity.
I can't help but think about that psychiatrist's location. What is she doing there?

The point of this long rambling thing is to say that the school counselor funneled me to a VERY close psychiatrist whose location was almost perfect for taking normal young people and turning them into psychotic freaks under the guise of 'helping' them with their stress.
From what I've gathered now, I was on 3x the normal dosage of neurontin, and the dosage of haloperidol was what they'd give a complete raving lunatic. There was NO WAY she wasn't just fucking experimenting on me. But what was the agenda, and what relationship did she have with the school counselor?
I'll never know. I never went back to any mental health experts after that. I never had another breakdown, psychotic episode, suicidal thoughts or anything once I got off all meds.

No kidding man. When I found out about Ted Kaczynski and how they subjected him to various psychoactive drugs in college, something just clicked for me. They took a normal mathematician PhD student and fried his fucking brain. It drove him to hate technology (machines may have been used to monitor him), as well as hating academia altogether.
I shudder to think how many mass murders are just normal people who get drugged up by the wrong doctor, and then they take the most 'receptive' ones and turn them into killers. Are they doing a scattershot test to see who can be drugged/brainwashed?

I was 22 or so. It's been 13 years and a few thousand miles. I was so drugged up at the time that I don't know if the psychiatrist's name even made it to my long-term memory.

It's hard to explain. I was convinced for a while that I was schizophrenic. It took a few weeks before my head even cleared up enough to know what was happening. And due to being hospitalized, I'd lost my semester at school and I moved back home. My parents were worried that I was schizo, or suicidal, whatever.
Once I realized what had been going on, I was mostly just happy to have the whole experience behind me. It wasn't until much later that it clicked - I had been malpracticed upon.
Only in the last 5 years or so had I ever connected it to stuff like James Holmes, Sandy Hook, and other stories with over-medicated young men who've been (probably) coaxed into committing mass murder.

Listen user, I am supposed to attend a psychiatrist Thursday due to my LSD experiences and coming clean to my parents. I have had troubles with my attention ever since I was young, but I refused to rely on drugs to support my intelligence.
Long story short, I got in with the wrong crowd. I have had 5 LSD experiences, smoked pot for almost two years (also did on LSD, which got me into horrible thought loops), and have snorted pills. I have slowly started to overcome my anxiousness with time (been about a month and a few weeks since my last trip) but I do get paranoid here and there. Should I straight up cancel?
