Companies stock crashes

>companies stock crashes
>because of a fucking tweet

Why does anyone take the stock market seriously? Being a publicly traded company is a scam.

Gee, I sure hope Trump doesn't uses that power to wreck the shit of the ((((companies)))) that wronged him during to the election...

Stocks are literally feelings based.

I'm getting tired of winning

You realise stock market reflect expected profit of a company? Boeing makes all it's money on inflated government contracts, if the president stops letting them rob the taxpayers they won't make money anymore.

Holy shit, good fucking time to buy Boeing then.

Maybe that's his game. Temporarily lowering major company's stock value so the informed but average joe can climb aboard the gravy train.

>Stock goes down by .5% in a single day
>Using the words stock market crashes

Listen I know you're a Salon, MotherJones, NeoGAF, and Cuckening Post reader, but stay out of economics, for your own dignity's sake.

And for the record, the military industrial complex also includes the fancy gadgets and toys like Air Force One with an infinite pocketbook because no one in the Government gives a fuck about efficiency or good deals.

> Feminist markets powered by feels

They deserve it for opening plants in China and letting the Chinese have the fucking patents for the things they're making at the plants.

this
>almost every company swings 0.5 -1 % each day in any direction
>OMG STOP THE PRESSES

> Implying China cares about burger patent law

>Boeing has sold millions of planes for airlines worldwide and is the biggest plane company in the world
>not spending 5 billion hurts them

Investors are morons.

It already rose back to normal

Reminds me of that Futurama episode where Fry starts giving a speech on the company while on the verge of selling it and the stocks just keep rising and falling with every thing he says.

Wasn't Boeing's stock actually up by the end of the day?

Pull up!
Pull up!
Windshear!

Why not? It's their own fault for getting involved in politics.

Probably, I love how an average fluctuation in the daily market got as much coverage as his deal with Softbank for 50 big league billion dollars.

it has been a joke since 2008. with governments being big buyers and influencers of stocks, fundamentals are fiction this time. it's going to have to correct sometime, but no one has a clue when

I'm not educated on this (and in general). What is the value of a stock? Like, if you own a stock, is the only thing you can do with it, is sell it? Or does the company send you money every month or so for owning a share of the company?

>tailspin
>0.6% down

It's fucking nothing

I'd be worried about the stock market if this tweet DIDN'T send their stick tumbling

>companies stock "crashes"
If this is a crash, ruble and russian stocks would be crashing nearly every day. Of course RT doesnt report this.

what the fuck
read a book m8

lel'd

>I know absolutely NOTHING about economics
The post

think of a stock as a percentage of the company. you only receive parts of the profit if youre a majority stockholder

lol
you used to be able to get some money on the stock you own (its called dividends) annually, but most companies dont pay our dividends anymore. you make money by trading your stock, a bit like how a second home. if you own a stock, you can either hold it or sell it, same as you would with a second house.

>Why does anyone take the stock market seriously? Being a publicly traded company is a scam.
The stock market is basically a bunch of computers all trading super fast and trying to take fractions of a dollar from each other.

Are you retarded? The DOW swings ~1% nearly everyday.

This isn't a trend down, it's a spike down on news.

If we were talking about futures then yes, that would be a significant amount but this in stocks it's nothing.

Gohanfag on /pol ?

so the only value of a stock is that you can buy and sell it? so...where the fuck does it even get its value from? the fact that its value might increase for some reason?

The stock market was truely the downfall of our economy. Gigantic bubble which only caused people to want to continue to grow the bubble. It's so incredibly volatile and based on nothing solid so it's just a crash waiting to happen. We're so tied into it now too that people believe they have to keep bailing it out every time it crashes so we don't completely fuck our country. The longer you delay taking the medicine the worse it's going to get though.

>modern economics
>on a solid ground
>it's a great system, b-bros!
>someone says mean things thousands lose their jobs

Capitalism, ho!

They mostly make money off the people stupid enough to gamble without insider info.

>Pig Pikachu
>Pigachu?

It has nothing to do with capitalism. Socialism is just as bad as public trading.

let's see if we can trigger cwc

Get fucked Boeing.

company makes money when it sells it initally, at the so-called initial public offering.
Price on the stock there reflects the present value of all the money the company is expected to make in the futrue, something thats called "fundamental value".
when the market value (whats it trading) is higher than the fundamental value, we say its overvalued, and its a good idea for you to sell. when its lower, its undervalued, and you expect that the price will change over some period of time to reflect that, i.e. the market value will increase until reaches fundamental value. thats when its a good idea to buy.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Animal_spirits_(Keynes)

thats just human nature tho.

>have to keep bailing it out
Don't you think this is even more likely to create bubbles because investors know they're going to be refunded if they lose?

>based on nothing solid
It's based on the likelihood of a return on investments. Granted it's hit or miss. But it hits way more often than any sort of central planning.

Damn I 'member that!

>Don't you think this is even more likely to create bubbles because investors know they're going to be refunded if they lose?
yes

He's definitely going to do that.
>It killed just by speaking!

Where the fuck did it crash idiot, the stock price went from 152.50 to 151.75 in the last 2 days. You're a fuckin tool.
>>Stock goes down by .5% in a single day
>>Using the words stock market crashes
This.
Some pay out dividends, you can buy a stock and it drops in price, and in reality not lose unless you sell it at a loss and vice versa.
Just put in an actual buy price and those hyper snipe trading systems can't shave off points from you, or buy funds friendorino.
>let's see if we can trigger cwc
>>Pig Pikachu
>>Pigachu?
I'd like to see that.
>Don't you think this is even more likely to create bubbles because investors know they're going to be refunded if they lose?
When GM was bailed out and filed bankruptcy, the shareholders were one of the first to be screwed, first it was pensions and healthcare of non-union GM workers.

This is the only post that means anything in this sea of retardation

>tailspin

Idle throttle and rudder in the opposite direction of the spin.

Fucking media thinks an airplane manufacturing company doesn't know how to fly a plane. Dishonest!
