Did 9/11 damage the American psyche? I'm not just talking PTSD for survivors or first responders. I mean as a Nation, are we a more paranoid, cynical, introverted and mistrusting people? I was young when 9/11 happened, so I can't say for sure, but just as a whole, we "feel" different.

It was the best news. Nothing after it could be as good.

9/11 is when america peaked as a nation.

Peaked right into your mom's goose pussy

oldfag here. It absolutely did

it's becoming more and more evident as millennials grow up with this jaded, cynical outlook on humanity

Shut up bitch.

you have no culture.

"The day that changed the world" as some would describe it.

I dont understand how a airplane crashing into a building made a generation of americans into stupid pussies

Three airplanes, actually, stupid leaf. Maybe it had something to do with seeing fellow Americans leaping out of 100 story buildings because of thermite cooking the office floors inside?

i seen worse shit than raining men, faggots man up and go do worse to them

no one cares about 9/11. its pretty much pearl harbor now. I don't know anyone that even knew it was 9/11 this year until it got brought up by someone seeing a headline. No one cares.

Your stupid 9/11 has nothing on Serbia getting bombed by NATO.

You faggots got what you deserve. Theres kids growing up all around the world, dreaming of killing americans.

You fucked up.

As an American I agree.... people turned into paranoid idiots, compared the attack to pearl harbor, etc.

At no time have the terrorists possessed even the potential capability to threaten the sovereignty of the US. They cannot take over our cities, towns, or anything at all... they can't.

That was a real possibility(theoretically) in WWII and that's why shit was such a big deal.

After 9/11 we sold out our freedoms because we were that scared of the .0000000001% chance of being killed by a terrorist. FUCK... 9/11 wasn't THAT big of a deal but we managed to make it so.

RIP Milica

this guy is right

Well according to Newt Gingrich, it was probably a brilliant and professional move

this take is hot, and it is also right

before 9/11 i had was able to walk into the dmv and get a license with anyone's birth certificate. even fake ones. at one time i had 5 diff licenses with different names all with my picture on them. i never used my real one and had over 12 tickets for moving violations that spanned those fake licenses. crime was so much easier.

It marked the end to a longstanding peace between Major world powers. The Soviet Union had collapsed, the Cold war was over and we had just experienced major Economic growth.
Our strength and Isolation made us feel safe and like no major acts of war would occur. This changed that. An entity from a nonrecognized government declared war on us and demonstrated that large attacks could still effect us with little to no warning.

>Theres kids growing up all around the world, dreaming of killing americans.

then we'll kill them first. you seem to be forgetting that Trump is president now.

The soviet union was systematically dismembered through color revolutions!

Innocent people got what they deserved? No, this isn't the ordinary citizens fault. Our country is controlled by Zionist regimes and has been for decades.

The Kikes have pitted us against Islam as to do their dirty work.

Blame the big fat federal government and the CIA and crony nepotists.

>Why isn't everyone else an edgelord like me? ;~;

Leafs need to be exterminated

...

geez no wonder leafs are the most despised posters

>paranoid
We wouldn't be if the media didn't keep shoving it down our throats.

>cynical
For the most part, we're cynical about ourselves more than anything. SJWs and "proud" LBGT groups started becoming more vocal, and Communist preachers are becoming more active.

>introverted
Depends on what you mean by that. If it's because we're shy, I hardly think it's the issue. It has to do with the next issue.

>mistrusting
This is definitely a problem because of 9/11. Who is our friend? Our foe? Is that person looking up porn on his laptop a terrorist? The person using a phone? Who is going to Allah Akbar next in public?

So yeah, a lot happened because of 9/11. But people saying 11/9 is horrible should gas themselves.

Faggot swiss, keep breeding with albo mongrels

>we'll just get in more wars and regime change operations over there. that will fix the problem created by getting into wars and regime change over there

You culture is entirely borrowed from ours. If we have no culture, you're really screwed.

Yea, America was never the same again.
>pre 9/11 - Blissful Ignorant dream
>post 9/11 - A very rude awakening
Think of it like this OP. Think of the atmosphere and feel in America pre-9/11 as an episode of Friends.

And after 9/11... well.. American bubble 'popped' so to speak, and partly responsible for SJW's
>MUH WHITE GUILT
and their fetish and weird fascination with muzzies and Islam...

Pre 9/11 America... How I miss those blissfully ignorant days.

Yes, 9/11 is the most recent occurrence of collective national trauma in US history, there are studies to confirm this.

My life went from zoboomafoo to survival mode with the change of a channel.

;)

alright achmed say hi to trudeau for us

I find Us to be more pussified... so many beta male now.

>not a big deal

lmao okay tell that to the millions of dead people who are now buried because of that one day's events, edgelord.

Fucking faggot ass leafs. Day of the rake can't come soon enough, French twats.

you're acting like we have to do it the obama way

god you're the worst.

Yes it was one of those moments that shifted the word into a new path

Everything going on today, even trump's ascension is all realated back to things set in motion from 9/11, more accuretly our response to 9/11

;)

Was it really that great?

We lost a lot of innocence. Could take decades to forget ala uss maine and pearl harbor

...

the bush and obama ways are the only choice. you're not going to literally nuke them all off the face of the planet

>as a Nation, are we a more paranoid, cynical, introverted and mistrusting people?
yes... and the Internet compounded the cesspit's demise

but burgers have their hollow heads far to far up their own shart holes, that they cannot see their own deaths on the horizon

>lmao okay tell that to the millions of dead people who are now buried because of that one day's events, edgelord.

the millions dead are a result of the iraq war, which had nothing to do with 9/11.

Yep, it has and will continue to shape the foreign and domestic policies of America and NATO countries for years to come.

As to OP's original question:

Yeah, ever since 9/11 and all of the other mass shootings and terrorist attacks (false flags or not) you can say as a whole Americans are more paranoid.

A lot of that has to do with not trusting the government and knowing they are hiding things about said event.

Leaf?

9/11 did tremendous damage to the American psyche. To really understand this, you had to have lived during the 90's. The US was a veritable utopia that decade. We had just won the Cold War, stood unchallenged on the world stage, were experience a tech revolution that witnessed shocking leaps in technology that changed how the world works, the biggest political scandal was Clinton getting a bj. Academics were writing papers wondering if History was over....let that sink in. And it all came crashing down, the curtain was drawn back. We saw how dark the rest of the world had gotten while we had been blinded by our own radiance.

Seems pretty forgotten.

There is a fair bit of solid proof that the whole thing was orchestrated by Isreal, or at least was know about in advance…. but you can't even get people to focus long enough take it in.

It did change a lot. You used to have sporting events with out massive security…the worst danger was drunken fan brawls…

airport security… NSA spying… It did massive damage..massive. The is less freedom as a result, and it will only get worse.

That doesn't even factor the damage of 15-20 years of Middle east military intervention… probably a Trillion bananas that could have been used for better things

>Millions of dead people

No it was only a few thousand.

oldfag here. It seems just the same to me. Gore V Bush felt exactly the same as Thump v Clinton, same partisanship, social divides, same shit
The internet was the big change

it was an inside job, right?
an excuse to grab the oil in the middle east?

9/11 drove burgers insane because they saw retarded, impossible bullshit and at the same time were told by the government that it's how reality works. You niggas are still in denial. Who the fuck let's a terrorist plane enter NYC air space without getting blown into pieces by the army? You dun goffed.

Thought I was replying to a leaf again, whoopsies.

So you're saying if 9/11 never happened we would have invaded Iraq either way?

>NSA spying
you mean applied mathematical analysis?

being "too" smart?

fpbp

basically the takeaway from this was that smug liberal assholes thought they had the whole world figured out and that all conflict had ended, and that neoliberal economics were the foregone future for all humanity for the next 5000 years. They were retards then and are retards now.

yes it showed americans not only are they losers abroad (1812, vietnam, iraq, isis), they also lose at home too.

america was dumb two build to big towers so close to each other

canada are smart because we build our tower so it is hard to hit with planes

US were always a bunch of cheating pussies.

They bombed Serbia in 1999 to eliminate competition at the Olympics.

Extremism took over, the Internet was on the rise, parents became paranoid, the recession hit, kids were told they could be whatever they wanted (before and after).

It all fell through, my generation is just the spoiled brats who got their toys taken away. I try not to take anyone my age's opinion seriously. Some of us will survive, the generations after us though will truly despise us though. What with millennials being primarily liberal, what will happen is a mass rejection of our ideas. I can't fucking wait to see millennial parents get btfo, getting into a suit and tie will be the new punk rock.

There's really no winning as a millennial, all of our happiness was in childhood, and the rest is just a Hollywood constructed narrative. I've yet to meet anyone my age who "figured it out" or did something that got people around them to wake up or respect them. And I mean truly respect them.

What am I looking at here, exactly?

>Muzzies going out and rampantly attacking and spreading wherever and whatever they can get their grubby hands on
>Christian Crusaders having a defined path and direction

This angers me just by looking at it.

The difference is these people mattered.

This. 50x more people died in that tsunami 3 years later.

I was a 5th grader in ft worth tx. everyones parents came and got them before the day let out because of fear. Now ft worth has Lockheed Martin but we are no target for a terrorist attack. Shit was on the news for more than a year. stories would be played like terrorist want to start attacking small american towns just to scare us more like the terrorist will hit anywhere. I Blame the media and Terror levels that created this awful paranoia. I personally think 08 was more damaging than 9/11

Lol no it was not an inside job but it was treated as an excuse. fatal error on our part.

>So you're saying if 9/11 never happened we would have invaded Iraq either way?

yeah. Bush had planned to "liberate" Iraq before 9/11 happened. You can look up bits of it in the 2000 Republican Party platform, actually.

its strange people barely remember that tsunami

the deep cynicism and paranoia began with the assassination of JFK. 9/11 definitely did damage too.

ok you are a serb slav, we get it. now kys

>Killing Muslims is somehow bad

9/11 changed everything

I could hit that easily. I pull 5 g through pylons yards apart as a warmup.

Don't get too high & mighty. There was a little something called WWI and WWII, few people got hurt there too.

>pre 9/11
>Bush plans to "liberate" Iraq
>9/11 happens
>perfect event to rally American hatred toward Muslims

Coincidence?

in which tsunami?

a tornado is a lot less memorable than a serial killer.

Bush and Obama did that but trying to mold the country into a Jewish vestal

It was very orderly and less chaotic. There were no extreme culture war like we have now, there were no movement trying to undermine social integrity and values of our Constitution.. You can make decent wage and live off pretty comfy off any shit-tier job and even save off of it if you were frugal..

Basically for most of its citizenry, the biggest worry they had was what movie they were gonna go see. What kind of car to buy next. Whether or not to tell your SO they're startin to let themselves go.

Worldly affairs for most Americans were pretty much nonexistent. Yea we'd watch the news, catch a few events here and there, but everybody felt certainty, cozy, and nothing but confidence for the future.

At least that's how I remember it anyway. It was the very definition of blissful ignorance.

Leaves get more and more retarded everyday. Am I speaking to a white person or a French mudslime invader? Your country is cucked, Trudeau.

The level of unabashed leaf shitposting here is at levels I haven't seen in a while.

Nope. we were always interested in arab oil. Playing politics overe there for decades resulted in 911, thats what terrorists do.

canada is irrelevant. merely headwear for the greatest country in the northern hemisphere.

however, or the asian side, it's clear that we have everything else on lock.

Even outside America things have changed a great deal largely as a result of 911 and things connected with it
Dude stfu
>9/11 is when america peaked as a nation.
There may be some truth to this but they could still rebound.

late 70's born and raised
on a playground is where i spent most of my days
Then one day the jews hijacked some planes
Oh shit son Saddam is gonna have to pay
We had a few wars and killed a bunch of browns
All the moms and dads hid their kids from the towns
For the past 15 years nobody played outside
9/11 was when the US childhood died.

Partnership for a New American Century spells it out pretty well. Calling for a new Pearl Harbor...
I try to keep faith that we didn't do it or know about it
blind faith

Things sure were different back in dem days!

if you're arguing that this created political expediency for intervention I would agree. But the WMD argument would have happened regardless. and im sure the government would have made some fake "Nayirah" testimony if it would have been necessary.

My point is 9/11 was the perfect catalyst for a full-scale invasion. You cannot deny that.

The US Government wanted it to happen, plain and simple.

where did the 3rd one hit?

grew up with russia as our enemy

then we broke their commie socioeconomic backbone like bane broke the bat

no enemy for a while, the Beast slept

now these dirty sand people are the new enemy

feels good

>a tornado is a lot less memorable than a serial killer.

This.

I'm not sure why- disease, random accidents, etc are the most likely things to kill us but nobody really worries about that stuff.

If you look at the raw statistics there's no reason to be afraid of terrorism yet people are obsessed.

>a leaf
>A FUCKING LEAF
>talking about how other countries have no culture

*tips ten gallon hat*

Spiritual sensible people know that there is a world before 9/11 and a world after 9/11. Most everybody, consciously or unconsciously feels it too.

It was - at that time - a partly successfull satanistic and ritualistic event to lock humanity & the earth/planet itself into a very very dark timeline. Hence you can say that the world has at least accelerated in going to shit ever since 9/11 occured.

The war on terror (Terror - a state of mind), the military conflicts in the middle east, the almost escalating conflict with the russian empire. Everything stems from what has occured on 9/11.

All the bloodshed in the middle east was legitimized in perfekt karma neutrality because of "muh war on terror".

So yes, the whole world, humanity, the planet, nature, everything has suffered from 9/11 and the following years.

If you were in college, this was a huge fucking deal. America was never attacked like this. The WTC, the Pentagon and Capitol building were targeted.

That's America's commerce, military, and system of governance. It was supposed to be a three-pronged attack using commercial airliners as bombs.

>For the past 15 years nobody played outside
>9/11 was when the US childhood died.
bullshit

No, it wasn't even that. Bill Clinton was centrist as fuck, and though nobody will ever tell you this, he worked with the Republican Congress to actually put together a gr8 economy. Its just that nobody in the US imagined anyone anywhere would challenge US domination, especially some bumfuck muslim extremists. The Culture Wars had started, but were largely limited to skirmishes, mostly around abortion at the time. Nothing like it was after 2004. Hell, immediately after 9/11, liberal ideology beat a hasty retreat, nowhere to be seen for a year or two. But after 2004, It returned with renewed vigor and redoubled its efforts, using the Iraqi war as its catalyst.

I never denied it, I called it a "fatal error" (to invade). 911 was very obviously used as an excuse to go whole-hog.

Also see
90s was like, America in the 50s before the Cold War ramped up and became serious. I think it was the closest thing to paradise on Earth.
