I haven't seen too many threads about this. What do you all think about the Standing Rock protests in North Dakota? For those who don't know, an oil company is basically having a standoff against some Native American protesters and of course a bunch of white people joined in once the story broke. The oil company is trying to build a huge pipeline that runs from North Dakota down to Illinois but it is being built over the Native Americans' water resource and they're afraid it will contaminate it. I think there's also some sacred burial ground that is being intruded but I'm not sure.
What are your thoughts Sup Forums? Should it be built? Is it good for the economy? Does that supersede the rights and wants of these people? Or should they respect their land and find an alternative solution?
I think its probably good for the economy, but fuck man. If this were my land that was getting intruded upon by a big ass oil company I'd be pretty pissed too. Its a fucked up situation that probably happens all the time, we just never hear about it.
Aiden Cox
It's not their land. That said the reservation system should be ended and the dept of Indian affairs canned.
It's the equivalent of Rome sparing the Gauls and letting them live on shitty campuses seperate from their society.
Hudson Ortiz
Why do native americans seem like such a sharing people until you try and take just a lil land from them? I thought NperiodAperiod's liked nature and all that shit huh? Isn't a big straw less harsh on the ozone layer or whatever than a big oil tanker truck? And the govt almost uses imminent domain on them, like after all the shit that theyve endured? Fat guy under flourescent lights with a exxon shirt on fudging the numbers so they show exactly how demonstrably unlikely a spill is.

retardation: the protest: the movie
Levi Williams
These alcoholics haven't care about their land in 50 years.
I really hope they all kill themselves "In protest"
Kevin Butler
Jesus Christ man i think youre standing up for the native americans here but you wanna raid their reservations? They have their own governments, isn't that like, war?
Adrian James
There already is a pipeline going through their land.
The new pipeline would be underground.
Protests are phony. All the protest camps are around the only stores, owned by the chiefs of the various groups of the tribe.
The longer the protest goes on, the more money they make.
Matthew Bell
I dont like building pipes over the aquifer, but when you see the map of whats already there it literally doesnt matter. I dont know enough about the indian burial ground or whatever to say anything. I know that at the end of the day, you can see what really rules america: money. Even the secret muslim terrorist president sends in the billy clubs to bash protestor skulls.
Jayden Robinson
No, their government's only exist because we permit the division. I say we end it and allow them to live as they please.
Elijah Gomez
>until you try and take just a lil land from them
Well nobody likes to have their land taken from them, even if its just a "lil" bit.
That said, I'm pretty conflicted on this issue, cause obviously this infringes on the rights of these people, but at the same time, to my knowledge they're pretty small in number, and if we are to grow our economy and rely less on middle eastern oil, then we have to get our oil here at home, and by doing that, we are going to have a lot of instances such as Standing Rock.
I guess you can't make an omelette without cracking a few eggs, but still. I just put myself in the shoes of these protesters and I'd probably be doing the same thing if some big oil company thinks they can just come in here and fuck my land up for some profit.
Sounds naive, but maybe there's a way for this company to strike some sort of financial deal with these people and work towards a deal that'll make everyone happy, but I highly doubt this will happen. This is gonna get ugly, lads. Oil companies stop at nothing to protect their bottom line.
Nathan Brown
But that would mean no safe havens for appalachia casinos and daddy's not driving to Atlantic City to shoot craps, scout
Jackson Evans
So you think this is some sort of scheme run by the chiefs or something?
Oliver Davis
It's not their land, and the tribal leaders already gave the greenlight long before the protests started
Kayden White
Got a source to back up that claim? Not saying I don't believe you, but I would like to see/read this myself.
Jordan James
Youre kinda like a red man's Che Guavara, it seems
Brody Taylor
Reeeeeeee
THIS STORY PISSES ME OFF TO NO END
They had months to consult with the army, and Washington sent them tons of letters that they chose to ignore. Once the army built the billion dollar pipeline into their territory they started shitting their pants and demanding fire water. I hope the pipe blows up into their fucking stream
Camden Ramirez
Why do they have to culturally appropriate all the Commie shit? Red/Black colors, fist in the air shit.
Brayden Moore
bump
Brody Sanders
The oil company legally owns the property and the natives didn't care about it until warren buffet told them it was sacred. /thread.
Caleb Howard
I assure you the goons this crook sent were outfitted with a little finer than billy clubs. shameful. Never bring a tamohawk to a gun fight
Isaac Torres
Follow the money.
Berkshire Hathaway stands to lose alot of money when the oil starts to flow through the pipes instead of rolling down their rails.
That is the source of funding for this. The longer they can keep the useful idiots protesting the more money they will make.
Grayson Ramirez
NA's are the original commies when you think about it tho.. and the only successful commies at that, if you ignore the fact they never got past horse riding in their tech tree....
Kevin Williams
I sided with them until I found out they were negotiating with the company for payment and only started protesting when they asked too much and the company rerouted.
Adrian Rogers
Pipeline is closed, bitches
Christian Lopez
As far as I know the oil companies offered money to the injuns but they wanted more so the company decided to make the pipeline outside of the reservation. Now the injuns are mad that they are now getting no money.
Sebastian Parker
It might not have started like that, but they're sure going to lose a lot of money when the protests are over.
Liam Green
How so? I don't really have a horse in this race, I was just curious about what's happening over there.
Jesus Christ, you have to suck corporate cock or people here start calling you a commie.
Ayden Sullivan
Not that it's a contradiction to be on the side of the injuns and not on the side of those ranchers earlier this year, but it is annoying how some of the same people who are expressing outpouring of love support for the redskins were super pissed off and very mocking of the Oregon fags. It was creepy how much people hated these guys, even some people on Sup Forums were calling them white niggers. No surprise since Sup Forums is a bootlicking board these days.
Luis Thomas
I wouldn't say anybody greelighted it but it totally isn't in their land and their water complaints are pretty much complete bullshit as the water intake they are complaining about it being near is getting taken offline this month anyway as has been planned for most of a decade because the feds gave them almost $40 million to build a new plant 70 miles downstream.
you can hear about it if you're paying attention in appalachia, they do a thing called strip mining which ruins the local water supplies and debris can crash down on people
Colton Roberts
maybe a red man's Dick Cheney*
Angel Cooper
>I haven't seen too many threads about this >what do you all think?
Clearly we don't think it's worth comment. Commies and libcucks weep over muh injuns while the kikes run another ugly ass oil line through our beautiful country. It's a Sup Forums lose-lose so there's no point in debate.
Matthew Robinson
The pipeline was originally gonna be on the natives land but the only reason they did not allow it is cause they wanted more money. The water company said fuck you and decided to build the pipeline near the land instead of on it and now the natives are assmad
Jeremiah Gonzalez
Great video man. Thanks for that.
Jose Turner
Where's the source on that? All I've seen is an Infowars video quoting a secret source on that claim, despite Dakota Access publicly saying that no such offer was ever made.
Elijah Clark
That video hides the fact that the Dakota pipeline is being done for Canada, so they can sell oil to China. Trudeau just signed the trade agreement with China for the oil specifically from this pipeline. Trudeau has the U.S. build the pipeline because it allows Canada to break it's treaty it has with native Americans.
Why don't Canadians ever talk about that?
Brayden Ramirez
Ending the corrupt trainwrecks that are most tribal governments is probably the best thing that could happen to the natives.
Bentley Powell
Nigger I live in The People's Glorious Democratic Republic of East Cuckistan and we have at least three casinos each within an hour drive of where I'm sending my signal fires on this Sumerian Pictogram Tablet.
