The situation in Palmyra is very confusing: >ISIS hasn't said that it entered the city >SOHR says most of the city is under ISIS control >some pro SAA say the city has falled, others say that ISIS hasn't entered the city
it's a mess but now ISIS took the abandonned division north of T4 which overlooks the Homs-Palmyra highway.
I don't think SAA got reinforcements to the city itself but i think the SAA will retreat towards the T4 to defend it if ISIS attacks.
Also, reports of clashes around al Qaryatayn city, north of Damascus between SAA and ISIS

>ISIS IN PALMYRA ARRESTING PEOPLE ALREADY If Russia allows Palmyra to fall, it will be a propaganda coup for Obongo and will have geopolitical ramifications.
Leith is a fucking retard I can't believe people take him seriously.
Launched 4 and counting Given Russia's shitty missile accuracy I doubt it will do much unless they're tactical nukes.
It won't help with the SAA holed up in Palmyra m8. Russian full commitment is coming TOO LATE to matter at this stage, I hope I'm wrong.
Palmyra gives ISIS access to attack from Homs to Damascus and links up their various holdings in the east. If it wasn't important they wouldn't be going all out like this.
Blake Thompson
>Syrian Democratic Forces: We will liberate Deir ez-Zor in the next phase of the Wrath of Euphrates campaign This confirms that the US intends to have ISIS death-rush Deir ez-Zour.
ISIS is throwing everything they have at Palmyra. SAA was not prepared for this.

Jesus christ why is their propaganda so retarded?
Nobody believes this shit.
Raqqa is even more defended than Mosul, and Mosul is being attacked by well equiped and atleast an actual millitary of a country army, and look how its going.
Meanwhile a rag tag militia thinks they can do more than that?

It would be a huge moral boost and good for recruiting new soldiers. Just imagine the outcry when they are staging new executions in the ancient ruins.
ISIS really does need a success at the moment. Palmyra is just the easiest front they have.
