can someone summarized what he said, i dont have headphones and in train

ITS A LIE.
its propaganda to
destroy the enthusiasm of imagination
disregard.

If I had made the nightmare fuel these autists came up with I would never, for example, show it to my family or friends because they would think I was a psychopath.

I'm a sperg, but these guys are next level. Miyazaki is pretty classy about handling it though.

WTF? I love Miyazaki now!

no disregard that post wrong thread god dammit'
i feel like we need to purge humanity of this FUCKING INFESTATION of TRANSHUMANISTIC MIND CONTROL

THIS IS THE MOST HEART BREAKING
VIDEO I HAVE EVER SEEN

its subtitled dude

The elders are wise

Someone tell that faggot to finish berserk

making a machine that can make drawings....

if you think about it, its kinda sad indeed.

>miyazaki misses the point entirely

wow what a dick

>Whoever creates this stuff has no idea what pain is whatsoever.

This is why the cultural output of the west is shit in the past 2 decades. Everything is produced by people whose entire life has consisted of nothing but consuming media, which they then regurgitate.

Man, I feel bad for his friend having to walk around using his head as a leg and not being able to high five.

Why the fuck would they show him this stuff ?

It's interesting but what were they hoping by showing some weird ass shit to some dude who makes family cartoons ?

literally who

>making a moral judgement of a computer program
Miyazaki is out of touch.

>implying we shouldn't model human movement because people hurt
Give me a fucking break.

Three(?) Japs come up with a neural network type thing that was designed to make a monster walk.

Only the computer has no concept of "don't bang your head on the ground" so it calculated the most efficient way to make the model walk and that was by using the models head as a foot. The designers thought they could use computers to come up with ideas that humans would not (Because walking with your head is fucking stupid, but not to a computer).

Then Miyazaki spergs out because a friend of his has a disability of some kind and finds it insulting. One of the designers tries to save the team some embarrassment by saying that it's just an experiment, only for one of his team mates to say that the end goal of their project is to make robots that can replace humans in animation.

Which, realistically, isn't that big of a leap because most cartoons are made by computers anyways, a human is just the one doing the thinking.

...

this is bad not because muh retarded friend but because they are producing AI to replace creativity and relevance to the times. this is the
Nu Males Sky attitude ruining substance in games. wtf i'm not even on Sup Forums

>Your artificially-generated zombie walking animation is bad because I have a disabled friend

What is the logic, I seriously can not understand
He just wants to be negative, for fun

>MUH CRIPPLE FRIEND
Miyazaki is an old cunt who made bad anime. I wanna see this shit in video games. It IS an insult to life itself, and that's the point.

they want project money, and just throwing ideas out until something sticks.

miyazaki is the nickelback of anime

only relevant in the 90s, and only in the most bland, pandering way.

Meanwhile, people with actual social commentary are embracing new tools.

...

>>Anonymous No. 102403914 misses the point entirely

Fix'd

Lol, what a bluepilled loser, doesn't take any consideration of what technology can do and why they showed this to him

>Everything is produced by people whose entire life has consisted of nothing but consuming media, which they then regurgitate.

You just described Japan you fucking moron. 80% of the fucks involved in making the gook cartoons you treasure are childless single people who are on the computer all day.

Go back to your shitty country, son of a fob trash.

kek

>buying into the technological jew
kek, enjoy being enslaved by AI and being called a synthphobe by self-hating organics

>I am utterly disgusted
>I strongly feel that this is an insult to life itself

so it's perfect for a horror game, as proposed by the presenter then?

he is just a butthurt old fuck, I've dealt with his type before, they're the old hipster fucks who are into literature, probably wears one of those artist berets often

this idea is fuckin cool

They're snake oil salesman, fuck them. Miyazaki was right to shit on them.

Miyazaki called anime an insult to life itself

>What is the logic, I seriously can not understand
>He just wants to be negative, for fun
don't underestimate the power of the weeb on Sup Forums

No, the cultural output of the west is shit because of Jews. I fully support consumers becoming producers in an endless content regurgitation loop. It seems like that would result in the content becoming more interesting and extreme over time. If all content is made by people who live genuine lives, they'd all make the same shit because life is rarely very exciting, and the tropes are well-known. Isolated feedback loops could very well drift into unknown territory.

WHERE WILL THIS TECHNOLOGY TAKE US??

He is right

Wait is this a new Wolf Brigade adaptation?

Am I missing out on something?

I love Sup Forums

I'm not sure what they were thinking by showing him this. I'm not an anime fan but from what I've seen of his movies they are very beautiful. It's like taking him to Sup Forums and showing him gore videos. What the fuck were they expecting? Him to praise them for something revolting to look at?

>if only there were an example of isolated feedback loops that generate interesting variation

He's been saying shit like this for ages. He's a real bitter old man, who hates this following:
>muh consumerism meme

And seriously, have commies come up with anything in the last 50 years other than utopian circle jerks? No. Shut up you stupid old nipfuck. Be happy your children will live one with the shit ton of money you made making cartoons, even if you're hate them as well as the whole world now.

>attaching personal feelings to technological and scientific research and experiments
Bluepilled normie. There is no reason to attach your emotions to an experiment that has merit in technological progress.

Reminds me of a story Spumco vet Stephen Worth told of a furry artist he knew who went for a job interview. He didn't get the job and didn't understand why. So Worth asked to look through the portfolio the artist presented at the interview. The artwork he presented including two panther morphs in a graphic depiction of oral sex.

That idea is really cool though

Laziness. Its a plague infiltrating all creative output. Too lazy to study your subject matter, pain, disease, suffering?

The solution = be lazy and create a simulator that generates an exaggerated caricature of the human condition.

To lazy to learn how to draw?

The solution = create a machine that draws like a human.

>Draws like a human.
>A machine that draws like a human

What these nu males lack in social contributions. They don't want kids, they want computers. They ant to create computers to perform human roles. They want to create humans. They want kids. They don't have kids. They want computers.

Laziness is a plague. These people are to lazy to explore what it means to be human that they want to simulate humanity through computers, to then sell the product to humans, assuming everybody is autistic.

These people do not want to embrace humanity, the are failures as humans. They are trying to outsource what it means to be human. The are trying to outsource creation and the ability to create.

Laziness.

Or maybe they're just intrested in programming, algorithms and AI. You retarded armchair psychologist.

>too lazy to learn how to draw
>come up with tens if not hundreds of thousands of lines of code and algorithm that will simulate if not overcome humans ability to draw
A man sure must be really lazy to just do something like that, I mean he could learn the extremely difficult task of drawing lines and cute anime girls but that's too hard so he decides to do something like that. Pathetic!

>Miyazaki is a rabbit watching the wolves take over, of course he sees that as the end of times. it's not, but it sure does feel like it to the little rabbits among us

The guy doesn't say the program is shit, he says the use for the program is shit

Maybe AI should do something else than produce nightmare fuel

Overcome the humans ability to draw? Overcome? is the human ability to draw a hinderance? why did he not just learn how to draw? why does man need a machine to do a such a direct task? He's not lazy, he is screwing around.

Drawing is organic and somewhat subjective, how and why will you create a perfect machine capable of simulating human inconsistencies.

oh! memes! memes!

Did I answer correctly?

>2019
>1:1 scale Gundam will become functional

God help us

Anime was a mistake.

His program calculated a way to move more efficiently than a human, ignoring all of the other characteristics of a human, something a human would never be able to imagine himself.

Why do you think a machine can't overcome the ability to draw and why shouldn't someone thrive to do it?

I hate liberal arts students.

>wolves

>ignoring all of the other characteristics of a human
how is this good for humans?

What I believe is that many of you are too young and haven't had sufficient emotional experiences of critical substance in your life to understand what Miyazaki is talking about so you brush it off as a child would a parent who doesn't let the child eat cookies before dinner.

Art. Drawing is and should be a human being giving emotion, form, thought and experience to whatever medium is applicable. Communicative, well-rounded people make art that mimics life. Insular, selfish, unfeeling, fractured people make art like spaghettio-s coming out of their vagina and zombie crawling simulators.

The problem then becomes is that some of you and the people sitting across from Miyazaki are completely unwhole, broken human beings with a bizarre notion of what is okay or not. And you are so arrogant in yor assumed perception of reality, even though it is incomplete, that you hate Miyazaki for telling you, you are fucked up.

You can't possibly accept or fathom that you are the most broken, fractured humans to exist and you're angry.

It's interesting and allows for a new way to animate something that can be enjoyed by a human, as he said, in something like a zombie video game or something.

A human would have been able to think of that, but why would they have thought of that. The creature created was not human.

Why don't you post a video of yourself moving in such an imaginative way? Seeing as it is so very efficient.

Liberal arts students are very much for outsourcing creation of art, such is why there is no good art out there as all art nowadays has been manufactured outside the artists studio and assembled from these faraway parts of the world into galleries.

even if you teach a computer to draw, How do you teach it to be creative? If you go by general AI it will only draw something based on what it knows but nothing new.

but Miyazaki admitted that their art mimicked the life of his disabled friend

I think the endgame for a drawing computer would be something like a much better version of flash tweening. Instead of shipping your keyframes to SE asia to make inbetweens, you feed them into the program and it does it far cheaper.

isn't the enjoyment derived from the fact its spooky as hell?

like horror-porn

you got fucking raped by trips of truth, stitch up your bloody asshole on the way out

fag

being this is Sup Forums and i don't know if there's such a thing as horror-porn, and if there is, you probably have a folder of it, i meant that what the machine is producing is only "interesting" cause there's a market for "horror-porn" entertainment

aristotle said the same thing, older people will always think the upcoming generation is degenerate, and will never admit themseleves that their elders saw them the same way, it's just how history works.

I feel like certain things may have been lost in translation

mimicking the disability for use in entertainment games and masquerading it as a zombie to then de-humanize it is callous and twisted.

Making something awful, coating it in blood, saying it's dead but appearing to still be human is a cheap loophole to try to prove we aren't desensitized to misfortune and slaughter of the human form.

Anonymous Conservative pls.

>more efficiently.
>ignoring the weight of the body, the structure of the spine, and countless other things that make this type of movement utterly retarded.

How is it interesting? The thing that made zombie video games, horror games, movies and the like actually terrifying aren't things like this, they are things that are close enough to life that they might be able to happen.

you NEETard losers don't understand animation as a discipline kek, if you did you'd understand miyazaki's point entirely

it's not a "moral judgement" you do-nothing fucktard, they took the soul out of animating and tried to present it as some superior, innovative shit, when it's literally nothing but an affront to the very definition of "animating"

The fact that they decided to do the tech demo with a human body instead of just geometric shapes also implies they were trying to use the grotesque nature of their product to help sell it. they were trying to profit from the depictions of human suffering.

he knew exactly what they were doing and called them out on it

His response is unfounded and really dismissive of the work they've done. Someone with his level of creativity and prestige should give a more insightful analysis of the demo they've presented him without mischaracterizing it as an insult to disabled people.

Mimick does not mean perfectly captured. A shallow imitation of pain and suffering, he found it to be tasteless.

see Computer generation is being used in Anime, movies, music and films already. Anime isn't drawn frame by frame anymore so you can already say that a lot of these things are computer generated already, and CGI is a whole other level of Computer generation. Why wouldn't someone want to strive to automate the process that takes people thousands of hours to operate these programs? Why draw a tree for 3 hours when you have created a program that can draw that tree in a millisecond or at least use minimal time input of a human being?

Sup Forums is an insult to life itself

- Japmoot

We must kill the machines before they kill us

And the point of this was to depict how a being with no concept of pain and with the form of a human would move. An application for this in a story would be if a zombie or paranormal being took the dorm of a human body. The movement is alien and would not be recognizable to people.

Miyazaki being creeped out means IT WORKED.

IT WORKED AND THEREFOR IS WORTH MONEY

TIME FOR THE NEXT ANIMATION

A DOG FUCKING A CHILD
THE A.I. DOESNT KNOW ITS A DOG OR A CHILD

BUT RENDERS THEM FUCKING NONETHELESS

WE CAN SELL IT

>Miyazaki, whose films include “Princess Mononoke,” “Howl’s Moving Castle” and “My Neighbor Totoro,” has used computer animation to embellish hand-drawn images. But before “Ponyo” went into production, he shut down the computer-graphics department at his Studio Ghibli, opting to work solely in hand-drawn images.
>“I realized that by using computers, what we were doing is that people who could draw by hand, the computer somehow entered in their heads,” Miyazaki said through a translator during an interview. “So they were starting to draw to fit the computer images, and I thought that was the wrong way to go.”

today.com/id/32418811/ns/today-today_entertainment/t/miyazaki-still-loves-hand-drawn-animation/

ANYONE WHO IS OFFENDED IS NOT A VISIONARY

AND IS OLD AND STUPID HAHA

WHAT A FAGGOT

ITS JUST AN ANIMATION OF JAMMING DICKS INTO A BLENDER

WHY SO SERIOUS MIYAZAKI?!

i'll put it in terms you autists can understand:
>be miyazaki
>master art of making Coca Cola
>your Cola has worldwide renown, because you don't cut corners and make it fucking right, with fresh, hand-picked, natural ingredients every time
>sit down to have Diet Coke pitched to you
>the pitch starts with, "it has this weird, unnatural taste - because we used weird, unnatural ingredients; it's great!"

it's not a moral judgement you fucking retards, it's not "bawww it mimicked my friend" you fucking idiots, his entire point is literally "it's not good animation, good animation mimics life; this is diet coke"

there's nothing worse than retards trying to have fucking opinions on shit they know nothing about, fuck off you NEET autist trash

Nope, Miyazaki is just an idiot moralist. He always have been. I like his work. But he idolizes women and have pretty feminine values. Saying he doesn't like a technology because muh feelings is pretty idiotic.

There's been AI breeding programs that way outclass this for awhile now. He's right that the zombie gore shit can get kind of psychotic, but this was just them trying to find a way to use their chaotic software experiment.

He is right to be angry at the changing of times and he is right about literally everything, but he is directing that rage at the wrong people in this specific instance.

>but this was just them trying to find a way to use their chaotic software experiment to make money.

>master art of making coca cola

the guy makes kids movies about japanese zeroes used to kamikaze pearl harbor with no guns and portays them in a positive light.

I'm gonna go ahead and say "yeah, fuck this old stodgy nip."

oh how rare, a dumb spic who doesn't know what the fuck he's talking about, never seen that before!!!

Shocking, isn't it? Anime isn't a charity, and everyone is in it for money. Some people are lucky enough to have made a huge name for themselves when anime was cheap to produce and can pass sweeping judgements on the products of people who grew up once the industry collapsed, some aren't.

Someone tell that faggot to make Bloodborne 2

It's not that image is scary. Miyazaki has made plenty of images that are scary. It's that the image is inhuman. When he would animate something grotesque, such as the hunters using skinned boars as camouflage in Princess Monanoke, there was always a human connection to the horror occuring on screen, as it had been animated by a human. A human being with empathy could comprehend how horrible an action was, and thus give the animation a sense of life or soul. Here however, animation was being done by an alien robot who had no concept of pain, no appreciation of life. The fact that the end result was so terrible only accentuates the point; what they made was an abomination.

yes life isn't fair, so what

okay, but that has nothing to do with the fact that his animation has worldwide renown for its human-like motion, so don't delude yourself into thinking your dumb, nigger opinion matters

>bitter old man
I love Miyazaki but he's be a bitter ass.

>humans no longer believe in themselves
>shits all over these young people trying to create something new

>out of touch
Kike meme

old dumbass should die already and stop ruining progress with his ignorance

An coherent and well explained argument I'm impressed!!

(No)
