How much support is here in Sup Forums for classical liberalism?
I understand, it may be a little confusing for some Americans as for them, the term "Liberalism" automatically refers to those "progressive" freaks.
Classical liberalism is different.
Conservatives may even like us, to a degree.
Many of us have classical liberal sentiments, but the overwhelming consensus is that its too toothless to fight the insane monster, the mad beast that is progressivism, social justice, and internationalism.
Nationalism is the guiding light in that fight, and the only place 'classical liberalism' has is that we also want to defend our liberties. But we're not near so autistic in wanting some elegant pseudo-libertarianism to justify it. Many of us are more pragmatic then that.
Tempered classical liberalism. There are certain ideas that should not be allowed free reign, because if they are, you'll have ISIS jihadists bombing your cities and feminist landwhales sitting on your cis white face to end the oppression of their hairy, sweat-stained muffs.

You are 100% correct and some don't realize the word "liberal" was hijacked by progressives in the US and that's why actual liberals had to call themselves libertarians.

Liberalism is the bottom half of the political square, opposing Authoritarianism (which you are very familiar with). Progressivism is the left half, opposing Conservatism.
There is a difference between "thinking" and actually "doing".
If a Muslim praises some ISIS nonsense, he may be free to do so. It is our duty as opponents of this ideology to debunk it, and bring people on the right path. Eventually he will have little to no support.
Should he ACT upon his beliefs, he must of course be stopped, either by a gun-owning citizen or a law enforcer.
Just like a politician who says he will deport all mexicans. He should be free to say it. To shut him up opposes freedom of speech. If he finds lots of support for it, then congrats. If the actual madman does it and pulls it off, then congrats for honoring your program.
