Have you ever defended a black?

Yes. Yes, I have.

Thank you. Next question?

tell us things only people like you know

What do you do for work?

Have you ever got someone off when you knew they were guilty and if so, what crime and race

Are you one of those lawyers who defends the accused unable to afford a proper lawyer and get $80 for every case from the justice department?

>getting paid peanuts for (((pro bono)))

Ask an aerospace engineer anything.

In California, indecent exposure can be punished by life imprisonment if it is a second offense and the defendant has a 288 PC prior.

Also, Dutchmen do not know that we routinely call them, "Cloggies."

how often do cops lie on the stand in your area? my dad was a public defender here in calif for 40 years and caught every single duty officer in our town in some kind of huge lie -- planting evidence, tampering with witnesses, etc. none ever faced any repercussions. ever catch any whoppers?

Is the point of your job to win the case or apply the laws to the case that may or not benefit your client?

I'm a ... heyyyyy!

kill yourself

DO YOU MAKE OVER SIX FIGURES?

How many years did it take you to pass the bar? Im considering becoming a crim lawyer

Ask a leaf anything.

1. Do you read John Grisham Novels?

2. If so, which is your favorite?

would it be possible to get someone off of 2 felony assaults and 2 misdemeanor assaults with less than a month in jail if they were mentally ill?

Ninety-plus percent of defendants are essentially factually "guilty."

I have a mix of privately retained and indigent clients. I've never taken a case 100 percent pro-bono.

>a 288 PC prior.
a what?

tell us more shit that we don't know. bonus points if it's actually helpful in some way

if words are meaningless what is government

It's fairly uncommon now. LAPD body-cam rollout rates are about 80 percent now. Cops are on their best behavior. Recently caught a cop embeleshing the phrase "in plain view" but hardly earth shattering.

My dad worked at Nintendo for a period of years.

OP is just roleplaying

My job is to advance my client's interest regardless of the public policy implications.

Yes, but there isn't nearly as much money in criminal as in civil.

ask a unemployed shutin NEET everything

First time go. I met your Chief Justice Bev once, btw. Nice lady. Wrote a horrible opinion criminalizing drawings of lewd acts.

1. I do not. 2. Hawaii?

>Yes, but there isn't nearly as much money in criminal as in civil.

YOU CANT CROSSOVER THAT EASILY?

good answer

why are you on pol? shouldn't you be staying in your lane as a generic liberal professional?

If someone is NGI (not guilty by reason of insanity) they don't actually get sentenced to any time. Or if they are adjudicated incompetent before trial, proceedings are suspended.

The European Court of Human Right will not allow a country in Europe to extradite to a non-EU country that has solitary-confinement. Also, you arsenic-licorice is terrible.

I'm admitted to practice in civil courts, of course. I don't wish to because it's dull and I don't have the drive to learn a new practice area. I really enjoy crim.

My political views are too eclectic to be plotted on a one-dimensional scale.

A prior charge under Penal Code 288

Did you think criticism of Hillary's defense of the child rapist was valid, or are you a fucking scumbag who will do anything to win and then use "the right to a vigorous defense" as an excuse?

i like you

Hey, I recently got my kid back from DCFS of Kentucky, and the investigative case worker that took my kid with an ECO basically lied on the stand at family court, could I possibly bring up criminal charges such as perjury and medical kidnapping since she used the hospital we had him admitted to, to further her case against my husband and I?

I got a property 1 exam in 2 days, why does it suck, but contracts 1 is so good?

I've never run into anyone from Neil Shouse's practice in court, ever. But man that guy has a comprehensive website.

Ur okay bud

what state do you practice in

Ask an unemployed denbt anything

were your parents rich, or are you self-made?

You know she pleaded the dude guilty before trial, right? The crisis of our time is not people winning court cases - it's people not giving a shit, and not taking their jobs seriously. But she should be in jail for paying for Chelsea's wedding with Qatari arms money. I'll give her a pass for Ping Pong Pizza.

did he died

Stop leaving heroin needles laying around and that wouldn't happen

Nah, just a fleshwound

Sup OP?

So you say most of your defendants are in fact guilty.

Do you feel your role is contributing to justice or mocking it?

12 year old gets raped. Not a crisis.

It's that kind of thinking that makes us hate you.

nah, he's ok now.

I'm not admitted in Kentucky. Is testimony in family court sworn? Was it live testimony? My gut says you're probably out of luck and addled by a chronic methamphetamine addiction. But to be fair, it could be prescription pills.

I hope you're at an accredited school and you have your first job already lined up.

California

??? I don't do drugs, she took my kid without any evidence of FTT due to neglect. I got him back because the judge and the prosecutor went on with the pre-trial and denied me a fucking lawyer to represent myself until he had already ruled on the matter. They fucking gave me 2 days to find one and lawyers down where I live have YUGE caseloads.

I had to go to court and I don't think even my lawyer believed me but I was telling the truth. How often do you think your clients bullshit you?

Yeah, it was sworn testimony. I don't do drugs, She was a lying cunt and provided no scientific evidence to support her "claim" of FTT due to neglect. She literally took my kid away because "Oh, your son is cute, but he looks malnourished, and I KNOW you've been worried about it, but I'm going to make sure I investigate you and trap you in a corner by sending you hundreds of miles to this children's hospital"

Fucking women I hate being one of them.

Im at an accredited school, but they wont let me start searching until I finish my finals. I'll be doing the search over the break. Got any advice for summer jobs?

My dad put in street lights for 25 years. My mom worked a counter. I went to law school on GI Bill.

Fun fact: possessing hypodermic needles is essentially legal in California and they are sold over the counter without prescription pursuant to HS 11364

I'm not permitted to speak about my current or former clients. But consensus among my colleagues is 90 plus percent.

Cases cannot proceed without a defense attorney. Further, I truly think nearly all sentences in California are too harsh. And then there's the issue of affirmative defenses ...

If I kill a bunch of random people that have absolutely no connection to me, and there is no trace evidence left behind by me. What are the odds of me getting about tree fiddy?

Do you think DUIs are petty crimes meant to even out the numbers of dispriveliged and privileged people behind bars?

That pic almost made me vomit desu fampai.

How can people fap to shit like this (and how can people fap to stuff worse than this?)

Ever get a case dismissed on a probable cause motion? If so, what's the success rate for getting charges thrown out for lack of probable cause?

Asking for a friend.

Oh nice. USN? also: Pepperdine/UCLA?

what does your bar number start with?

Nobody goes into criminal law. They fall into it when their main options fall through.

If Anakin doesn't like sand, then why is he on a fucking beach? Answer that.

It happens from time to time. But I think it's because they're afraid I won't go to bat for them unless I think they're totally innocent. I typically have good rapport with them by the end of a case though. Honestly, our interests are synced up. I usually just take people at their word. I'm not the gatekeeper to their preferred defense.

Judge first summer. Firm second summer.

Awesome, thanks for the advice!

Why is a JD required in America, and not merely passing the bar exam?

Third year law student here -

Lawyers are absolute cucks - long hours, miserable work. Will be getting barred, but I will not be practicing.

How does this defender's experience compare to your own?

What do you do if you don't practice? Become a judge? Professor?

I am a law abiding citizen with no criminal record whatsoever.

why are states allowed to make laws pertaining to guns?

For example if i was arrested with a handgun in california couldnt i just claim 2nd amendment rights and they would be fucked?

for example. the tenth amendment states "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people"

which means that anything in the constitution is off limits for states to fuck with.

since the right to bear arms is a constitutional right how do states like California get away with shitting all over it?

where you bluepilled when you started? and if so how long did it take for you to become redpilled on niggers?

>Ninety-plus percent of defendants are essentially factually "guilty."

The problem with this thinking is the judge won't critically think about the evidence. You switch off their critical thinking.

Are you a shitty defense attorney?

>Will be getting barred, but I will not be practicing.
What's the point then?

I'm not sure at this point.

I'm considering the military - officer school - and I am applying to graduate schools. I live near Washington DC, so I may be able to get into the federal government via DC graduate school programs

>in america
It goes by state, first of all. And in California you can literally just be an apprentice at a law firm for a few years and take the bar, then you're the same lawyer as the other 300,000 of 'em.

Based on your intuition, how real is pizzagate?

On the one hand, DUI is something nearly all adults will do at least once in their lives, so I think it's sometimes over-moralized. On the other hand, it's troubling how many white people cannot fathom why their DUIs were not dismissed before the first arraignment ....

Yes. It happens with some regularity (Usually a 1538.5 motion in California). More so if the case came from a traffic stop. On foot weapons pat downs, and searches pursuant to warrants are less likely to get tossed for bad PC.

I remain your humble user.

Two. Anything that starts with three means newfriend.

I respectfully disagree. Though in the recent past, your super-dregs did become public defenders.

Because you're not an attorney if you're not barred. And if you're not an attorney, then you don't get the social status that accompanies being an attorney. So, I'm going to get barred.

>Anything that starts with three means newfriend.
>anyone from the early 60s is a newfriend
What county are you in?

Do you have a Designated shitting street.

Did you start out as a public pretender? Or did you get hooked up at a firm straight out of law school?

No evidence left behind? You'd one hundred percent get away with it, especially people you have no connection too.

So you're essentially passing the bar for the social status?

It's not. But I've never met a lawyer who didn't go to law school.

I think most lawyers are unhappy. But you should still pass the bar and then decide.

In my experience, people won't read something that long on FORCH.com

how many niggers and spics have you defended?

what laws would be violated by invading a small Polynesian Island nation for the glory of Kek?

Of course. When I go to an employer or a graduate school and tell them I am a licensed attorney - as a opposed to a law school graduate - I have a better chance of landing a job or being accepted with a scholarship, because I have more social status.

We'll see. There's still a chance, but I'll probably avoid practicing. It's just not for me. I've seen the work. I've worked with attorneys. It's just not my thing. Should've never went, desu senpai.

what kind of porn do you watch? what is your favorite?

>Yes. It happens with some regularity (Usually a 1538.5 motion in California). More so if the case came from a traffic stop. On foot weapons pat downs, and searches pursuant to warrants are less likely to get tossed for bad PC.

How about for more... serious offenses? Like where the state obviously over-charged on some tenuous evidence from a criminal complaint and has nothing else to go on?

Do you regret going to law school?

What kind of industry are you aiming towards then?

Which state do you practice in?

10th amendment doesn't matter anymore

There is virtually no caselaw that turns on the Tenth Amendment for reasons that have never been fully explained. Spoiler: SCOTUS has just been making stuff up since FDR.

I take the correct pill for the correct situation. At the end of the day, folks are folks.

Bench trials are rare. Generally a jury is the finder of fact.

Probably 98 percent chance that it is complete fancy. Something you lads forget, it's extremely rare for women to commit child sex crimes. So Hill wasn't taping kids to tables in pizzarias. (While I'm riffing, I think that blonde lady saying she got abducted by to Latinas in a van in CA last week has something to hide.)

Bar numbers are issued by each state. I was referring to California, which only recently went over 300,000.

>In my experience, people won't read something that long on FORCH.com

Weak.

Just go back to saying "California" to the next 20 "what state are you in?" posts, then.

I one hundred percent regret going. It's miserable. I just finished my last final yesterday. It's fucking brutal. I'm sure OP can tell you that. I went because my family wanted me to go. Frankly, I wanted to go to graduate school for history or philosophy. I'm into 'impractical' subjects, unlike the law.

I am looking into the military (officer school) or graduate school in Washington DC as a way to get into the federal government. DC schools have programs that'll get you hooked up.

Going to infiltrate for Sup Forums

If you get arrested in California for a concealed pistol, and get a felony on your record under their state law, then you move to a state like WY where carrying a pistol is not only not a felony, but is legally allowed by residents of the state, what is the legality of carrying a concealed pistol in WY if you have that on your record from California?

What tier was your law school? Was it hard to get a job?

>Why is a JD required in America, and not merely passing the bar exam?
It's not in some states, but it functions as a guild, to keep the membership low and wages high.
.
same with the AMA, restricts amount of people that are let into medical school, decreasing your total amount of doctors in society. In fact in the early 90s they misprojected the amount of doctors needed and their was a huge crunch in the late 90s and naughts.
And it's a guild because they restrict access on mostly arbitrary grounds.

What is it like to defend street scum? This was probably asked already, but I'm too lazy to scroll and find it
