The FBI kept a file on him because of this book. The American government literally acted like Soviet secret police because this man dared to question the romanticizing of the past in which white men were infallible heroes bringing goodness and civilization to a backward people

He omitted sources that didn't fit his narrative and included sources that did.

His incorrect moral stance distorted his ability to properly evaluate history.

>America is Evil and Racist: The Book
> by (((Howard Zinn)))

Like what?
And what would be the correct moral stance to appraise history properly?
Not an argument

One of the first political books i read as a teen, made me a Republican. Haha nice try socialist scums

That book doesn't have any sources and is comically bad history. I loved it as a young leftist because it's a series of pornographically one-sided emotional appeals. There is no logic anywhere in it. He defends the Rosenbergs for crying out loud.

>the diary of Bartolome de Las Casas is not a source
Ok

Yeah, fuck him.
Subversive marxist faggot. Disinformation.
Fake and gay and sage.

butthurt stormweenie, you're too comfy in this safe space

Your thread has been infested with Jewish concern trolls

This book was life changing

>jew blows the latent jewry in American history way the fuk out in the open
>nose prevents large swaths of anti-corruption stormfronters from ever even considering his work
I would feel bad for you if I cared at all

might makes right
zinn is the one with the moralfagging romanticism

I'm not even trying to be a subversive kike, communist, socialist or whatever else flak I'll catch; I just want Sup Forums to realize that their idealization of the past is dangerous and that people and history are much complex than right or wrong, good or evil

But fuck me, right?

I don't disagree with the right of conquest, but I question the dehumanization of people. Why couldn't the colonial powers adopt conquered people into assimilation as the Romans did?

>The FBI kept a file on him because of this book.
LOL, not because it was truthful you dumb fuck, but because it was subversive commie misinformation. Jesus, how new are you that you don't know about Yuri Bezmenov yet?

Well for example mentioning Castro's education system while failing to mention his network of gulags. Or, mentioning the atrocities committed in Korea without mentioning the fact that the Korean War was integral to Korean democracy. No mention of Pol Pot except for a few sentences. Numerous praise for communists and communist sympathizers, complete non-mention of the heroes of capitalism. I could go on...

I mean, how stupid can you be? You realize people don't have to directly lie to paint a narrative; they can simply omit the truth. This has been a popular leftist tactic for centuries. Don't get swept up in the emotional prose.

>babby's first philosophy

Mate I'm going to go ahead and give you spoiler on philosophy and tell you that there is no end answer therefore all answers are wrong. Philosophy has no sort of universal implication and because of that it has no merit in our society except for providing relative comfort and tradition to a homogeneous people.

One culture will found self loathing history to be beneficial while the other will not. In the end, whichever culture conquers the other has the last say.

Here shithead, read a book that doesn't have to lie to you.

>I just want Sup Forums to realize that their idealization of the past is dangerous and that people and history are much complex than right or wrong, good or evil

Yes, you dumb faggot. /r/im14andthisisdeep is that way.

The only one idealizing the past here is you. You're idealizing some sort of alternate history where the winners were not the winners. Yes, people are much more complex. Yes, in the present right is right and wrong is wrong, good is good and evil is evil and in the future, history may show them switched or changed or whatever. We won't be able to truly reflect on the history of our present for a minimum of 30 years and, even then, it will just barely be coming into focus.

Stop idealizing. Live in the now. Hope you make the right choice. That's all you can do.

Now fuck off, you dumb faggot. You have your first semester of History 101 final tomorrow. Get to sleep.

Oh and you're welcome

-oldfag.

This was mandatory reading for us in highschool, isnt the edgy profound shit you think it is. It's standard curriculum

Nice meme book faggot

Downloading all 4 GBs
Thanks, I guess

Oh and by the way the FBI did not have a record on him because of that book, they had a record on him because he was a subversive leftist radical with ties to known communists and an advocate for violence.

Nothing good can come from the belief that those who advanced our society are pure evil.

Was going to war with the natives regrettable?
Yes. But it had to be done.

It's people like Zinn who turn our society against itself.

I seriously don't get it when you guys do this.

So are you in support of safe spaces or not? You're aping on your own ideology by using the insult ironically. Surely through the mental gymnastics you can understand how ridiculous the concept of a 'safe space' is if you're willing to use it as a term of mockery?

the spanish interbred and assimilated (zealous after reconquista)
the french interbred, but didn't assimilate (cynical after wars of religion)
the english expelled and exterminated (settlers were the sjws of their time, saw themselves as the vanguard of humanity)

there were lots of exceptions, but that was generally the rule

>kept a file on somebody is the same thing as arresting you, putting you in a gulag or executing you

fuck off

His book is anti-white, not anti-jew.

Hmm, this sounds familiar. Where have I heard about this before? Oh, I remember...

>So are you in support of safe spaces or not?
It's simple:
>if you reply to bait, shitposters win
>stop fucking replying to obvious bait, asshole
Don't be a naive literalist on an anonymous mongolian wedding cake forum

Rome failed.

Because the people that the Romans conquered already had some semblance of civilization.

The niggers, mudshits, and spics that the Old World conquered were low IQ animals who lived in straw huts and hadn't even invented the wheel. They had to be dominated in order to be civilized; peaceful assimilation was not an option.

I just think people would take you a lot more seriously if you didn't post the most misleading peace of historical propaganda published in the last 25 years as your source. The guy was a communist and disregards the fact communism killed tens of million. He fancies himself and intellectual yet doesn't even realize all that atheistic socialism and communism does is replace God with man, and the various horrors and flavors are what follows

All that we call human history--money, poverty, ambition, war, prostitution, classes, empires, slavery- is the long terrible story of man trying to find something other than God which will make him happy. That's the real history lesson these atheist "intellectuals" don't want to admit. That book will not be welcome here because most of us realize this. You will not be welcome here because you are a dumbass

I read it as a kid and remember really liking it. I wonder what it would be like to read now. I also remember reading (from the same aisle in the bookstore) Cocaine: An Unauthorized Biography. Anyone read that one?

I have it but didn't finish it

>All that we call human history--money, poverty, ambition, war, prostitution, classes, empires, slavery- is the long terrible story of man trying to find something other than God which will make him happy.

Well, duh. He cast me out of that ultimate comfy Garden of Eden where I was gettin' all them perfect blowjobs from perfect Eve all day.

Like, wtf dude?!
