I am Mormon and even served a mission for the church. Ended up quitting early because of how awful we were being treated. We had an extremely high turnover rate in our mission because tons of us quit. Lots of my friends disassociated with the church after they went home. I'm even sitting in Utah Valley where the Mormon population is over 90% and see countless amount of people here going into inactivity and even removing their records from the church.

I'm Mormon. Mormon culture is great. Strong faith, strong families, everything. It's just a few spots in particular (Provo/Orem especially) that take being Mormon too far. They can get a bit Pharisaical there, a bit too self-righteous. This is a real danger in any organized religion, and this is why Jesus had to make such a big deal about living the spirit of the law. Hasn't sunk into everyone's heads, though.
