Is it true that the jobs won't be coming back even if we nix the free trade deals and start taxing imports?

All of the liberals seem to think that automation has already killed those jobs so there's nothing to bring back.

The same liberals who say that automation has killed all the jobs tell us we need Mexicans to do those jobs because Americans won't do them. Really makes you think.

Jobs may come back, but the cost of goods will skyrocket and offset any gains to the middle class.

Yep. Hillary promised training and education to low-skilled workers for them to get higher-paid and higher-skill work, but the workers instead chose to listen to Trump's empty promises of bringing the jobs back.

They're already coming back.

>liberals ... tell us we need Mexicans to do those jobs because Americans won't do them.
That's funny, I keep hearing that from conservatives.
Probably because they're the ones that hire most of the illegals to begin with.

This. You chose poorly plumber joe.

>but the workers instead chose to listen to Trump's empty promises of bringing the jobs back.
If assembly line work is the top of somebody's potential, I'd rather they followed the jobs south across the border.
Lets export the entire rust belt to Mexico, and trade them for whatever skilled workers they have.

lmaoooooooooooo good luck getting your "high skilled" work after college, cuck

>lmaoooooooooooo good luck getting your "high skilled" work after college, cuck
What's your alternative?
Americans should underbid 8-year-old Singapore children for manufacturing jobs?

tariffs

>tariffs
So...
Instead of going to college, I should raise tariffs?
I don't know if I've got enough weed to get so high that your answer makes sense.

Yeah, automation has always been about making the job doable with less people, it's been happening since the industrial revolution but with advances in small scale tech it's now cost effective to have machines do most shit now.

There's also already self driving trucks on the road doing pilot runs to see how well they work, when that happens haulage firms will buy them straight away. Imagine a truck that never has to stop for legal break time, a truck that can run almost 24/7 is an instant unemployment crisis.

Just wait until they manage an artificial intelligence that's as smart as a person.

not you in particular but for a 40-65 year-old worker with two kids and a wife to support? Yes. They didn't get screwed by the free market, they got screwed by shitty free trade deals that pits them in a race to the bottom against third-worlders

at least restore some semblance of balance in trade before we start thinking about more socialist education programs

2 simple arguments against this liberal lunacy:
- If these industries really represented no jobs then what would be the point of transfering the production to country with low-wages when these company would have to fit the bill to bring the production back?
- If these companies really represented no jobs, then high taxes are the reason. And who are the biggest tax-whores of them? Dat's right: LIBERALS.
In either case LEFTARDS LOSE.
Fuck them raw.

>they got screwed by shitty free trade deals that pits them in a race to the bottom against third-worlders
How is that different from the free market?

>at least restore some semblance of balance in trade before we start thinking about more socialist education programs
You do understand the US has a huge trade deficit, and imports FAR more than it exports, right?
And much of what we import is made by people who are nearly slaves.
We're already getting the better end of international trade, and the only way to get "more balance" is fr you to send your kids to a sweatshop 12 hours a day instead of school for 6-8 hours.
But if you're against "socialist education" you're opposed to K-12 education anyway, so no big deal.

Ever see hoarders?

People can amass obscene amounts of consumer garbage. These people are often poor.

It wouldn't matter if goods increased in price. Shit is already so cheap that it is disgusting.

>2 simple arguments against this liberal lunacy:
>liberal lunacy:
>implying vulture capitalists are lefties
Do you know how Mitt Romney made his money?
Oh, wait, I forgot... he's a liberal now, isn't hes?

>How is that different from the free market?

A free market assumes that all of the players are playing by the same rules. Businesses operating in China or Mexico play by a completely different set of rules than American businesses because they have radically different concepts of human rights, workers rights, intellectual property, living wages, etc.

> We're already getting the better end of international trade

Tell that to someone that just had their job outsourced. Low prices is not the end-all be all when the government has to pick up the slack in the form of social welfare (unemployment, food stamps, etc) not to mention the toll it takes on the local economies when you have thousand person layoffs.

Getting cheap chinese shit is not worth creating an entirely new unemployment class on top of poor blacks.

>mittens not getting tortured by God-Emperor.
>also implying leftism isn't such a cancer that even Lenin described it as an "infantile disease"
Lefties BTFO by their own leader, from beyond the grave.
caption about pizza :/

>Lefties BTFO by their own leader, from beyond the grave.
>implying communism wasn't just a sophistry front for a totalitarian dictatorship
Of course Lenin didn't like "leftism".
He wasn't a leftie any more than Hitler (despite being a nominal socialist).
Besides, what's that got to do with the fact that outsourcing is generally practiced by conservatives, not liberals?

Also, about Mittens...
>be Trump
>run on main talking point "I am an outsider, even the mainstream GOP hates me"
>Mitt Romney suddenly needs to speak out about how Trump is an outsider and even the mainstream GOP hates him.
>Trump becomes GOP nominee
Jesus, how many of you cucks actually drank the Kool-Aid?

Oh, I see. The sikrit russian conspiracy.
Just let's blow up together some BMW, da?
