Actually, we have already deported 160,000 in 2015 and 2016. And we are ramping up the deportations and "voluntary sponsored departures". About 500,000 will be rejected asylum seekers at the end of 2017. The plan is to get them all out next year and 2018. I think that is very reasonable. To allow asylum with requirements, like constant employment with no more than 1 month of being unemployed a year, and absolutely no major convictions. The reason they also deport those who aren't trouble makers, even in the initial stage when there would be enough that deserved the deportation more, is because it's easier.
Deporting someone who gave you the right address to their residence, regularly filed paperwork, does not suddenly disappear when you announce the deportation and so on is much easier to deport than someone who refuses to comply.
