Nationalised healthcare wouldn't work in the US because they are all unhealthy fat fucks

>sell house
>buy trailer
>declare bankruptcy and move on with life with your son alive thanks to modern medicine

There's a reason why they sell health insurance

welcome to regulation 101. this is what happens.

>Stupid son get bitten by snake and ruins the whole family heirloom
Makes my neurons trigger

>they are all unhealthy fat fucks

with the exception of Texas and the black people that inhabit the South, we're actually pretty healthy

One of the articles aid there were errors and they slashed like 700,000 off the bill.

This is the story of Dominic Devine. He's 10 years old and severely autistic. One night in July Dominic and his mom were visiting her parents at Lake Mathews. He followed her outside when he picked up a snake and waved in the air like it was a toy.

His mom heard some noise, saw him waving something in the air, heard a snake rattle and then heard the boy scream "OUCH". Being autistic his dad, David, says he didn't have a sense of fear or danger and that's why he grabbed the snake the way he did.

And the family better pay otherwise recreational nukes will fly.

And that is better than getting it for free how exactly?

Give this kid a 240 and put him in the sandbox, he's got what it takes to be a Marine.

>only 700,000

>400 grand for a hospital bill is adequate

carry on

>Being autistic his dad, David, says he didn't have a sense of fear or danger
Man this board makes so much more sense now

It may surprise you but someone has to pay for the treatment. Even in the Netherlands. All you need is an insurance.

The Director of Pharmacy Services at Riverside University Health Systems - Medical Center Greg Prouty says there was a mistake. A clerk overcharged. Without getting too complicated each vial of the antidote, which is only made by one company, is $14,000. On average, a snakebite victim might need between 18 to 24 vials. The actual vials cost the hospital $2500 each, but there are many costs added on including such things as storage, the market price and so forth.

To be even more specific, Prouty says: "It's the interaction of several different factors not the least of which is there is only one manufacturer on the market so they can literally charge whatever they want. The fact that it works and it works very well.

There are people who are alive today because they were able to have received it." The pharmacist also says, "health insurance companies demand discounts from providers so the price of products like this have to be marked up so discounts can be provided and, at the end of the day, you bring in more money than it cost to buy."

Prouty is extremely apologetic. He says there was a mistake and it was corrected. Actually, it was corrected twice. The first time it was reduced to $511,825.01. Then, the hospital reduced it to $350,000-plus. Devine's co-pay was in the neighborhood of $8,000, but the hospital decided for all his trouble they wouldn't make him pay that. Now, Devine is worried about the impact on his insurance coverage and his companies.

This is only phase 1

Why should a a life-saving cure be free? How much do you value your life? Is it free?

stupid should've gotten health care

He should have just been naturally selected. Truly this boy should not be alive.

Knowing Sup Forums, this thread will definitely conclude that the father deserves to have his life ruined because his autistic child needed medicine that probably only costs $20 to produce, not that the system is horribly exploitive and broken. God forbid we try to do something about it or people who are "lesser" might be able to live bearable lives.

overcharge a little vial by 600% because "storage".

You are a good leaf

Why didn't he have insurance? He deserves whatever consequences he gets.

Can you provide the link for said article, so that we can get the full picture, instead of a screenshot?
Can you also provide a more thoughtful insight about the question at hand, instead of snark or witty remarks in greentext?

I know you're just the next shill who came here to disrupt this board, with this old as shit picture, but I thought that maybe the other faggots who always bump threads like this need a refresher about what a thread needs to have in order to stay on Sup Forums.
Or at least what is should have, since mods like to suck dick and do nothing about this mess.

Sage and report, guys.

Are there people that actually pay their hospital bills? Like, yeah they ruin your life but you don't have to actually pay them. My parents got in a horrible car accident, the bill was close to or over $1 million when all was said and done. They just never paid that shit. Sure, we don't use credit cards anymore and probably can't do a lot of other things but life goes on.

lol

I'm English, so yeah

We don't have nationalised healthcare either, just insurance that works.

...

Not having health insurance is natural selection

Explains the eurocucks

Should've been more careful.
Tell him to say hi to natural selection on his way out.

>To be even more specific
>several different factors

truth be told, a lot of the newer motorhomes are much more luxurious and spacious than apartments these days.

plus you get to take your home with you anywhere you go.

youtube.com/watch?v=QdYQpoQxa88

They would have sued him and he would have lost the house anyway.

>getting it for free
Because it's never gotten for "free" you retard.

Someone has to pay for it. It may be society, it may be the person that has to catch this special species of snake, then extract it's venom and then induce it's venom to a different species (most often horses) for them to build antibodies for it, so that we can take the blood of imunized horse and extract antibodies from it and give it to a retarded kid.

It's never free, you pakistani fuck

>There was a $700,000 error in your bill, but don't worry we fixed it!
>It was really only $400,000 for a snake bite treatment
I guess they also had to cure his cancer while he was receiving a hundred hours of surgery in the country's most renowned hospital

Someone wouldve been charged anyways? Why cant eurocucks understand basic economics?

>Sure, we don't use credit cards anymore and probably can't do a lot of other things but life goes on

I am suddenly very very thankful to be a fucking leaf

How come we don't see mass shootings in hospitals (targeting Drs) or in insurance companies offices??

Anti venom for some snakes can be incredibly hard to produce
Not a reason for ruining the fathers life obviously, but depending on what snake bites who, and in what geographical location, they may even need to fly that shit to the hospital or clinic.

>be canadian
>go to hospital
>get cure injection
>walk out
>pay $20 to dispensary for pain pills

feels goodman.jpg

you americans can have this too if you make america white again

>"First world"
>This

WEW LAD

It was a billing error you lying piece of eurotrash

It makes less sense.
And making less sense means it makes more sense in a way you just lack the capacity to comprehend.
>Eurocucks

Don't you have laws which can slap these things down as extortionate?

>357

listen to the man.

Keep in mind you just don't pay for the medical staff and material in 'merica. You have to pay the share of the Hospital (((goldberg))) lawyers that work day and night to prove thumbs are not fingers and therefore, not covered by your insurance.

The only reason I would be for this is because children are stupid shits.

Fuck that hospital, though. There's no way that shit really costed THAT much to the hospital itself.

While the price is ridiculous why is the guy freaking out if he was only paying $8,000 no matter what?

Pharacutical companies appreciate your shit, everyone else thinks you're retarded

>natural selection

>get extorted in a life or death situation by a quasi monopoly
murrika never change

The problem isn't that he had to pay for it. The problem is that it's way too much for an anti-venom. It's not like they are selling platinum rings.

>billing (((error)))

too bad housing in Canada is fucking expensive.

Neurons don't trigger, they spike

This.
Are we sure this kid's name isn't Trombley?

>simply don't be biten by snakes
>capitalism FTW

>(((free)))

The problem is that only one company makes it, even in a socialist system it would have cost the state upwards of 4.4 million for this treatment alone.

Do you know why it costs that much now? The Affordable Care Act went into play, allowing drug companies to charge whatever the fuck they wanted.

SO THEY DID JUST THAT ON DRUGS NOBODY FUCKING NEEDS EXCEPT FOR 1%

There, enjoy your fucking socialized medicine.

They are though, anti-venom is expensive and difficult to produce.

glad I moved to germany for them FREE healthcare.
u jealous murican??

He had insurance. Copay eventually worked out to $8k, and the hospital waived it.

>house in Redondo Beach
>less than $1M

>house in Redondo Beach
>no health insurance

so much bullshit in this one picture

>be a leaf
>get bit by snake you tried to fuck
>go to the hospital
>die in the ling line
>claimed it to be free, although paid your entire life for it via taxes.

>what is health insurance

If you're that stupid, you get no sympathy from me.

I mean if you're over 18, you should have one too, my dear Moroccoan.

TLDR
>One company, Bayer, has monopoly on antidote for rattle snake
>Charges 14K per vial that cost like $20 to produce
>Needs 18 to 24 vials to be saved
It's not even the private system that is the problem. It's big pharma as usual. Now guess who is running bayer.

Your whole economic system is fake, you steal the wealth of the nations.

Then there's no story and the system worked fine.

>implying a complete State takeover of healthcare wouldn't force the manufacturer to lower their costs

>Prouty is extremely apologetic.
He's extremely apologetic because this is bad PR for the hospital's investors. He wouldn't have said anything if there wasn't any backlash online.

>The first time it was reduced to $511,825.01. Then, the hospital reduced it to $350,000-plus.
Those margins aren't that easily reduciable unless they overcharged it like kikes in the first place.

>It may be society, it may be the person that has to catch this special species of snake

In other words, not me. So yeah, free

A nationalised healthcare system is serving a customer base of millions and millions of people, and they can force the drug company to lower the price or lose a ton of sales.

Until we see actual sources and evidence of what happened to this family is real, this thread and article is fucking bullshit.

It's really not, the overweight rate is very high across the USA. It just ranges from "fatties are common" areas to "holy fuck everyone is so fucking fat" areas. Besides, that doesn't negate his point as healthcare has to cover everyone, not excluding any groups

Shitposting and "country banter/role play" is the nu-Sup Forums. I assume the thread is directed at any defenders/apologists of privatized healthcare, if there even are any. As far as I know only neoliberals, ancaps and kosher conservatives support private healthcare

$100-$5000 depending on the type sure. $400k-$1.1mil is just taking the piss.
It's expensive but not that expensive.

>for free

It is not free you dumb cunt. There is no such thing as free health care. Tax payers will always pay for it.

He would have died in the uk or Canada

>be user
>anons mom gets breast cancer
>stage II triple-receptor negative doubling in size in 3 weeks
>cue months of chemo
>cue months of more chemo
>cue surgery
>cue months of radiation
>cue restoration surgery
>user still has a mom two years later, declared NED (no evidence of disease)

Dad said the total bills came in at around $1m. Insurance covered everything except for one $83 dollar charge because they bought something over the allowed amount.

Kike IP ban when ?

>pay thousands in taxes every years for public healthcare whether you use it or not.
>''heathcare so cheap in Canada"

We don't want your commie bullshit.

This

SHOULD HAVE NOT GONE TO BIG PHARMA

scidev.net/south-asia/health/news/indian-herbal-snakebite-cure-scientifically-validated.html

Last time I checked my taxes didn't amount to 7 figures

"free" there is no such thing as a free lunch you faggot.

>implying the cure didn't cost like $30 to produce
>implying it took more than 10 minutes to administer the anti-venom to the kid and give him a sucker when it's over
Insurance or not, this is irrelevant. There is no reason that this should cost a million bucks, 700k, 400k, 100k or even two thousand dollaridoos. Yes, a portion of Sup Forums will agree with the hospital bill. However, the more sensible people here would see the insanity in ruining a hard working man and his family's lives for a single shot of anti-venom.

Hey, hey, easy there Irish, or we may rethink looking at your half in the bag nation and its "resources" (ie potatoes)

>the country with socialist programs out the ass doesn't want to add one more
>arguably the most important one

right, you show those commies you dense fucker

>free
This fucking meme again

I don't know the specifics for this anti venom...but in general medicines are highly guarded, and storage highly regulated.

Couple million a year for the main warehouse in rent, climate controlled. Thousands of dollars to ship per load (Im a truck driver that does these a lot..costs 3 to 5 dollars per mile on the cheap side, and it's usually only a pallet or two).
Then you need a guarded, climate controlled space constructed at your hospital.

Factoring in that it's usually handled(warehouse/transport/repacked by trained personnel) 3-5+ times from manufacturer to delivery....600% seems cheep.

Just sell the house and everything you own to a trusted friend and go bankrupt. If the wealthy can use the system to their advantage, there is nothing wrong with doing the same.

Yeah, whatever whore.

nonsense, big pharma apologist. you dont build all of this just for a couple vials

And how does that relate to this in any way?

You said it is free. It is not free you fucking idiot.

Did you know that there are numbers between 0 and 1,000,000?

Which part of the constitution was that written in?

The hospital will often sell your debt to a credit collect whose career is to bother getting legal matters together to sue you and garnish your wages, as hospitals tend not to bother with those matters as it's hard to get all the resources conscripted for, but these collectors have them in place all the time because that's how they make their butter. Your credit will also be ruined if you don't bother with the credit collectors--your house will get taken and you will have trouble buying another one or renting one.
Obamacare stopped medical bills affecting your credit score, but I think that can be bypassed if hospitals sell off your debt to debt collectors. Medical bankruptcies constitute like 70% of all bankruptcies here. Most of which people had insurance. Some faggots here will probably say "BUT MUH JAMAL AND PEDRO I DONT WANT TO PAY FOR MOOP DA DIDDY DO!", but guess what? Jamal and Pedro are often on Medicaid which just waivers these costs because the Government can do that and they often don't have anything to lose, as they often have nothing. Do you know what these healthcare usury practices do hurt? The Working and middle-class whites who don't get qualified for that if they exceed the requirements and will often lose everything they worked for in their lives--even if they have had insurance.

For all americans not understanding nationalized healthcare let me explain it:
>Everyone pay for it via taxes
>No one pay upfront for healthcare
>The country digs deeper in debts when they realize even if everyone paid 100% of their income they still would not have enough money to cover the country's healthcare need
It's basically a trick to keep a country stable by forcing debts on it.

Now americans think we are stupid forcing our country to give healthcare at no upfront charge for the user but please keep in mind the US spends 10 times more arming terrorist in syria.
