Durkheim says it's because the law has become more restorative and less punitive as we moved towards organic solidarity.
Luis Harris
>solidarity unity or agreement of feeling or action, especially among individuals with a common interest; mutual support within a group.
Humanity has less solidarity nowadays than we used to.
Charles Taylor
We've probably become less restorative too.
We used to have hospitals for people with mental problems. Now we shut them down and send them to prisons.
Isaiah Rogers
How can one be pro abortion and anti death penalty or be anti abortion and pro death penalty? Both are murder.
Jack Williams
One is innocent. Another probably isn't.
Brayden Walker
The "one innocent man" agrument won over.
The US "justice system" like many others are just industries for elite now. G4S and SERCO are just Rothchild and Cavendish companies.... Tavestock is in there too!
Lincoln King
Personally, I don't find the Code of Hammurabi to be as harsh as some people make it out to be. In fact, in some of the rules, it is surprisingly "progressive," for how old it is. Here's a fine gem on an example: >If a woman quarrel with her husband, and say: "You are not congenial to me," the reasons for her prejudice must be presented. If she is guiltless, and there is no fault on her part, but he leaves and neglects her, then no guilt attaches to this woman, she shall take her dowry and go back to her father's house.
Henry Scott
>Medieval age Inquisitors were infamous for their torture methods. Before this there was the criminal vs victim legal battle instead of the criminal vs state on the behalf of the victim.
A simpler time where if you accused someone of murder and they were pronounced not guilty you were then charged with murder. But then the witch trials happened and the church allowed people to accuse others through the church.
Juan Watson
>Code of Hammurabi They knew about Jews!
"If a herdsman, to whose care cattle or sheep have been entrusted, be guilty of fraud and make false returns of the natural increase, or sell them for money, then shall he be convicted and pay the owner ten times the loss."
"If a merchant give an agent corn, wool, oil, or any other goods to transport, the agent shall give a receipt for the amount, and compensate the merchant therefor. Then he shall obtain a receipt from the merchant for the money that he gives the merchant."
Durkheim was based as fuck. I think he hit the nail with collective effervescence. Definitely felt it with the Trump rallies
Juan Nelson
Fear of condemning innocents.
Jack Perry
I believe in extending the death penalty to repeat offendors of crime. Literally kill off a good chunk of the black and mexican populations
Logan James
Death should be for murder, violent rape, repeated serious violence.
So many laws need scrapping.
Connor Johnson
Hangings at night would be a good thing for the whole family really!
Zachary Clark
We're too soft to like that now! Also when a civilian populace is used to accepted overt state violence they are more likely to use violence against the state!
The state tries to act humane but really they're just mollycodling us!
Blake Rodriguez
More efficient to use criminals as slaves. Also can be more profitable to have them around so you can receive more money from the state.
Isaiah Walker

Childhood is idolizing hangings. Adulthood is realizing firing squads make more sense.
Kayden Hughes
Hammurabi's Code was pretty just. It also commanded that the state pay for anything the offender didn't or couldn't pay for to the victim.
Ian Taylor
The reason medieval punishment was so severe was because of the complete lack of police to enforce the law and deter/prosecute crime. The death sentence was in place to make up for that in trying to deter criminals.
Robert Rodriguez
First of all we need to start dropping fags in boiling pots of excrement again
Andrew Butler
Is shit literally all you think about? This HAS to be some white kid in his mother's basement posting with a proxy.
Cameron Brooks
We need Pinochet helicopters to clean up the trash
Juan Hall
Being the state the main criminal organization, yes. We are too gentle with the criminal population
