There is no VP until a new one is sworn in. The chain of succession simply skips to the Speaker of the House if anything happens to the VP-turned-President.
It's worth noting that rules and reality aren't exactly the same. After Reagan was shot, George H.W. Bush was in the air on Air Force 2, and initially was told that Reagan was unharmed (he hadn't realized he was shot until he was already in the car, so the press initially reported that only the three agents had been hit) so he continued to Austin to give a speech. By the time they realized that Reagan was seriously injured and got the plane refueled to head back to Washington, people in DC had already started to take up roles to cope with Reagan being out of commission. This led the Secretary of State to essentially become the acting President for a few hours because he was the highest ranking member of the administration who was actually on the ground in Washington. That's not at all how succession is supposed to go, but it's what ended up happening because reality is complicated. By the time Bush was back in Washington, it was clear Reagan was going to be OK and so officially no succession ever took place.
Jaxson Sanchez
Hillary had 3000224 votes while Drumpf only had 304.

You may think you have the last laugh, but guess what? Trump supporters are coming out in DROVES saying they're regretting their vote! Just watch this video:
It's not too late for Hillary to win! She just needs Obama to demand another election by executive order. He can do that, right?

as in a term for what Pence could run later?
if Pence assumes Presidency in the first half of the term, then he can only run for reelection for 1 term (6 years total). If he assumes Presidency in the second half of the term, then he can run for reelection twice (10 years total)

No I don't. I agree with Trump that the college is a bad idea for both parties. Californian voters deserve the same rights as everyone else.

INTERESTING LEGAL NOTE
The 22nd amendment only prevents someone from being ELECTED more than twice.
There is, to my knowledge, no law forbidding a former two-term president from being nominated and confirmed as Vice President by the senate (not an election) then taking the office after the current president resigned. He simply couldn't run again.

I just meant VP's in general. I never really learned any of this in school. I had government for two semesters my senior year but I genuinely don't remember learning anything there. Sup Forums as taught me more in my 10 years here tha the public school system ever could.

YOU MEAN THE CHAOS EMERALDS?!
William Williams
All along, advertising and commercials have always been a sort of meme warfare on the public. You memorize their little slogans and their catchy commercial jingles and they often have various short campaigns where they reuse the same joke or character in various situations, much like a Pepe. Political campaigns associate their candidate with a short succinct line that people remember. Trump seized on all of this and his whole campaign was run that way, all evidenced in his rallies. He mentions one of his policies, the crowd whips out the proper chant for it. He boiled all his complex ideas and proposals into easy to understand bits that people could process quickly and repeat. Truly a masterful work of art. Hillary just couldn't compete, always changing her slogans that nobody ever understood and meant nothing.
Hunter Kelly
>Grow up kiddie
Xavier Ortiz
Okay then, well go win back the thousands of state legislature seats you've lost over the past 8 years, win dozens of governorships, a bicameral super majority at the Federal level, and the Presidency. Then you can TRY to amend the Constitution and change the electoral college.
Also it literally favors city dwellers in large states like California, the opposite of what you said. Democrats have an inherent advantage in the electoral college especially since California gets to count its illegals towards the census and gets extra electors. It's not perfect but its the best way to diffuse the power across the country rather than centralizing it in a handful of states. If you actually gave a shit about the Republic or the Constitution you'd know this and respect it.
Kayden Rogers
If you made an intelligent argument I'd respond likewise but you're just a child so I don't expect one.
Samuel Martinez

>Californian voters deserve the same rights as everyone else. Exactly, not MORE rights than everyone else. Deciding the election based on the popular vote would literally be saying that California's vote supercedes the votes of most other states in the union which voted for Trump. Also California already has extra rights regarding the electoral college because illegals are counted towards their number of electors.
Gavin Wright
The electoral college doesn't allow illegals and zombies to vote sorry if that's an inconvenience.
