Year 2038

>year 2038
>humankind have had a colony on Mars for 5 years
>they finally bring back the news that life has been found on Mars

What do you think would happen to society if that was announced?

If they ain't American or part of God's green Earth, they can go fuck themselves.

They'd have to abandon the colony then, so humans don't interfere with the natural progression of life.

Quite a shitty policy if you ask me.

johj?

fpbp

People will ignore it as they continue to argue that the Mars colony is not diverse enough

Then some unqualified person will be sent to study it because they meet the quota

This only applies to intelligent life forms.

Nothing would change. Humanity has already dreamt and created ideas and creatures and fictions so strange that anything we could discover in the world we would already be prepared for. Think of all the alien movies in space travel movies and interdimensional time traveling shit we see on a daily basis.

We have already been exposed to ideas so strange that at this point we take them for granted. When alien life is discovered it will be big news for about a year and then no one will care

>some bacteria found on a rock far far away from earth

wowitsfuckingnothing.hqwebm

We'd find a reason to go to war with it.

How the fuck would it take them 5 years to figure that out if they were physically there on the planet?

>Mars colony is not diverse enough

Mars Colony has a 'one strike and you're out' rule. As in out the airlock without a suit. Of course it's not diverse.

how mad would you be if the first man on mars wasn't a white man?

The stint they use in the series is that it's dormant and mineral-like until it's exposed to water. They only find it when some of it gets blown into the water condensated on their transformers.

Meh. I don't get mad about hypotheticals.

I hope there is an invisible race of niggers already on Mars, so that when we land there they chimp out and rape all the astronauts, but it looks like its ghosts doing it.

Hiw is this Politically related at all?

Fuck off to the_donald.

pic extreamely relevant

Afraid the Brit is right.

Depends, if it's just some primitive microbes than probably not much. Though if scientists would be able to prove that life on Mars developed completely independently from Earth and not from the same source that would mean that the probability of life emerging from non-organic matter is relatively high which means that the universe should be full of alien life-forms.

Outraged that the traveler is a fucking white ball

It'll be some single celled organism. Nothing really, it was expected. Probably frozen in ice for millennia.

"let us marry aliens mr god emperor trump!"

also "fuck off were full"

If it's just bacteria, pretty much nothing. Nobody except nerds care about bacteria.

>it's a, we're going back home; to find out we are home episode.

We'll fuck this place up too.

douchebag

Mars is an orb of light, that shit ain't gonna happen kiddo.

Why would you say that?
