The reason why pirates aren't allowed is that Authme has zero protections against brute forcing, and last time they were allowed an admin account got cracked and they went ham with worldedit.
Basically Authme doesn't check if a mineman account is even legitimate or not, so someone else can log in as you on the cracked server.
Without Authme, there's no way to tie pirates to a single UUID or name, which would break Factions.
