The difference between women being empowered in anime compared to women being empowered in western cartoons is that in anime, strong female characters aren't written to prove a SJW message and there's plenty of strong male characters too. Strong anime women have more merit to them beyond being MUH STRONG INDEPENDENT DON'T NEED NO MAN and are still constrained to the fact that they're women and not """womxn""". In recent western cartoons, and a lot of western media in general, strong female characters only serve the purpose of forcing "SEE, SHE'S A STRONG WOMAN" down our throats, most of these characters don't have any merits to them and their character just revolves around being a strong woman who always overpower the men and are almost always perfect at what they do.
There is nothing inherently wrong with strong female characters, it's just that a lot of strong female characters in the west solely exist to spread a dumb SJW message.

If the whole world was white, or niggers just weren't fucking retarded, there probably wouldn't be any kind of SJW movement or even a reactionary conservative movement because diversity would just WORK. One of the more intersting things in many animes is that even though they often feature teen promiscuity, generally speaking people still have 2 or fewer partners and then get married, and relationships are healthier by default and one party has to actively work to destroy the relationship to end it. Additonally, these animes often promote healthy values of community, work ethic, friendship, monogamy, and family, as opposed to western rom-coms which are ABSOLUTELY DEGENERATE ten times out of ten.
Anime isn't exactly a niche genre, and there is literally something for everyone, from hellsing to toradora to dragonballs to k-on, and it is very easy to cherry pick aspects to criticize from the literally millions of different animes.
As with most of the good things found in anime, these things don't exist in real life and probably never will. Anime is a great way to escape and for me at least can stimulate my philosophical thought, but it is HIGHLY important that we distinguish anime from real life.
