Puerto Rico Files Bill in Quest to Obtain Statehood by 2025
Looks like that 60% is about to go down even more.
Holy shit that looks good.
its not going to work these things never work
Pass.
WTF is Puerto Rico and what possible reason should it be associated with the USA in any way?
with food like that maybe puerto rico should be a state
Honestly, what benefit is there to have PR as a state?
pay debts first
PR should be just another carribean shithole like Haiti that nobody gives a damn about with a tin pot dictator nobody ever heard of that grows bananas and cocaine.
This. This smells like a ploy for federal assistance.
Isn't this like the hundredth time they did this?
What are they teaching in schools? Anything? Is it really just glorified daycare at this point?
>ywn have a qt white woman to make you a pizza taco
why even live
That's a big part of it that they're open about, actually. Puerto Rico wants access to things like bankruptcy, which it currently isn't allowed to do.
It's a US territory. People born there are US citizens.
Was saying that rhetorically to illustrate just how little I care about PR as long as what happens in PR stays in PR.
tax revenue
I support this, actually. Puerto Ricans are good, hardworking people, they have fought in most conflicts the US has been a part of, and a sizable portion of them are in the military. Puerto Ricans are not Mexicans.
Puerto Rico has an outstanding debt of $170 BILLION, almost half of which is owed to the US.
The Philippines are more likely to ask to be reinstated as a US Commonwealth than Puerto Rico is to become a state.
>declare bankruptcy
>go into debt again because didn't learn anything the first time
>declare bankruptcy
pay debts
Too late now, maybe 30 years ago when Puerto Rico had industry and less debt. Now its just an island full of drug addicts, socialism, and mountains of debt
Are they beginning to have dynastic politicians? It makes me proud.
puerto ricans are not people
PR doesn't deserve statehood. It remains a commonwealth until its economy restores itself.
HELL NO! We neither want nor need you.
Puerto could've been a state a long time ago if they'd learn to speak fucking English.
Another blue state? While you're at it, might as well make DC a state as well.
> US Citizens
Well fuck. Ain't that a clusterfuck doggammit!
Does this mean cheaper coffee
Maybe they can be enticed to be their own country and take their citizens with them. How much to buy them off?
Where the fuck can I get one of these pizza tacos?!?!
>us citizens
>subject to most federal laws
>pay all federal taxes except income tax
>"""representation""" in congress, but can't say anything
>can't vote in presidential elections
Good question.
I remember HuffPo actually supporting Puerto Rican independence a few years ago, if you can get liberals on board with it, maybe they'll start pushing for it.
>Holy shit that looks good.
Right?! And I'm hungry...
>qt white woman
>caveman arms.
Guess again.
Don't want these fuckers. They'd hurt our economy more.
Imagine if Japan tried the same thing.
That looks like shit.
...
Fucking hell, we don't need these fucking spic leeches and another Democrat playing chit.
PR is fucking shitty. The last thing we need is for them to be a state. We need to give them independence and let them fuck off.
They're American citizens so they're already counted in the statistics.
Did you hack this picture, Ivan?
Second Hawaii.
>2035
>US flag has 57 stars
>Puerto Rico
>DC
>Guam/NMI
>A. Samoa
>Northern California
>UP
>NYC
shut up and go sip your wine and baguette
>implying we won't take all of Samoa
No thanks, I'll pass on Democrats getting 5 free reps, 2 senators, and 7 electoral votes.
