Desk jobs

People that label desk jobs as "enslaving" are as moronic as those who look down manual labor:
>comfy chairs
>Air conditioning according to the current weather
>almost no chance of seriously harming yourself or dying in the workplace
>dress code makes you look suave and elegant as fuck depending on the employer
>able to browse Sup Forums, read news, etc
>free coffee, water
>clean bathrooms
>on average, great paychecks if you're good at what you do

Its not for everyone, sometimes its a stepping stone before entrepreneurship, some people do it 4lyf, yet I believe people should experience both blue and white collar jobs in order to know what's best for them and to understand the counterparts, but demonizing jobs that are actually the backbone of industry is what communists and hippies do

My favourite thing is it when white collars make fun of NEETs for being "USELESS SUBHUMANS" while they post in another Sup Forums thread about how they "get paid to shitpost, my job is so comfy LMAO 120k per year but I want MORE".

Depends on what you're doing. If you're just a shitter it's going to be shit but if you're mid to upper it's more comfortable

>tfw work as a systems admin
>read Sup Forums and watch videos for 6-7 hours. Take 90-120 minute lunch breaks.

I fucking love working in an office. If I was a NEET I would literally be doing the same thing.

>implying I said any of those things
the main topic is to honor all honest work, nice projecting you got there

people(Sup Forumstards) equate white collar folks to liberal weaklings, while blue collar folks are seen as honest hard werkin built ford tough patriots

>Go to work
>Sit at computer
>Go home
>Sit at computer/watch TV.

Repeat for 20 years.

get a real job, you are worthless

>while blue collar folks are seen as honest hard werkin built ford tough patriots
I am working in public utility and most of my coworkers are either non-political or socialist in nature.

exactly but neckbears on here who don't talk to anyone like to believe what they want.

Depends on what you do though. I'm lucky to have a desk job where I get to be creative. If I had to do spreadsheets and TPS reports I'd rather be a postman or something.

Yeah, done both though, I'd rather do some financial analysis and actual decision making than arranging boxes on warehouses, assembling cars or flipping burguers since its more of an intellectual/creative challenge, manual labor is honorable as any other job and essential for all business but there's a reason why its called grunt work, no disrespect

I work a desk job and it is totally un-natural and shit.

Sitting all day is literally wasting away, more cortisol, cancer causing hormones, all while being immobile.

High rates of stress, depression etc.

Active vs passive leisure
Switched to a pure office job recently
Yeah some politics and pople waiting to die.
However:
>Set hours m-f 9-5 Weekends always free
>26 days holiday + 8 bank holidys +5 free days
>pension + shares!
>sit at computer
>go home
>Not tired from lifting things and slaving all day.
>If its cold build things and carry out hobbies
>if its warm go running or for a hike or meet friends.
>in 4 years I should have enough for a house deposit as opposed to barely making rent.
Drones FTW

I hate my desk job. Though there's only one job I'd really like to do

If you dont compensate the office job lifestyle with proper food and physicial activity you're bound to become a cynical obese fuck, be thankful the odds of life put you in a position of having that job and not being born into some 3rd world shithole where the only employement around is picking vegetables in the field under the sun at gunpoint for

i wish i could see it that way

where/how do i get a desk job?

and not one where i talk to niggers wanting more entitlements for $10.25 an hour

>Graduate from college with STEM/ business degree
>meet basic computer prerequisites
>be white male
>apply
>Get desk job

SeeIt depends on your qualifications user, desk jobs range from low/mid skill call centers to banking or financial institutions

Whites are are obsesssed with blacks. Thread literally had nothing to do with blacks but there's the word "nigger".

I've been doing desk job for six years now writing software. I kinda want to give the blue collar thing a go too though, maybe if there is another oil boom.

Kek. When everyone wants to become a STEMfag, the job wont be valued anymore hahah suck on that normies

Nigger is a state of being rather than a physical trait, for example: you can act like a nigger but still be white, hence the urban slang "wigger"

>Econ degree good school
>entry level analyst position
>$35 per hour
>5 years later, $70 per hour
>long breaks, comfy cube, snazzy clothes, get to fuck around a lot

It really is the best work life. Best part is hitting the bars after looking snazzy af and having young wet bitches be interested in you

Entry level analyst?

I recently just graduated with my Econ degree, state school.
I just responded to an interview for $14/a hour for a children's farm home skills trainer position (kids with disabilities)

I dont know what the fuck to do with my econ degree. I like to study people and money is k00l

I am university educated and have worked white collar, but I didn't like it so I became an industrial electrician. The people (mostly men) I work with are not politically informed, but they are tough as nails. There's no political correctness, sugar coating, coddling etc happening on the factory floor. That is strictly an office/corporate thing. There's no doubt that office work is more suitable for liberals and bleeding hearts.

Nope. They've shown in studies that people who do desk jobs cannot entirely compensate the damage done by working out afterwards.

These are just lies. White collar means cult-like ideological control, being on the clock 24 hours through your phone, submitting control of personal activities to your boss, and bizarre fake-emotion rituals. And an HR department and complaint investigation arm populated entirely by angry cat ladies. Browsing pol at a real white collar job? Ask yourself if you believe that for a second. The guy who co-inventrd Java was hounded from a white collar job because of a private political donation he had made years earlier.

>neckbears

>whatcha thinkin about?
>oh just jews and stuff.
>you're fired!

I agree. Try to wash cars for 10 hours and you'll understand that manual labor is just as enslaving.

An undergrad degree in econ is almost useless unless you have some internship experience or networking skills. You need at least a Master's to break into the job market otherwise.

While I really liked econ and thought it a nobler pursuit than accounting, I was being paid $14 per hour on my first accounting internship and easily found something paying $23 per hour right out of school. While in econ, I spent the summers either unemployed or working physical labour jobs. Don't get me wrong, accounting is absolutely fucking braindead work for people with zero creativity, but pretty much guaranteed you will never be unemployed and pays OK.

Thought quickbooks and other software threatened it's longevity?

I fucking hate my warehouse job

Relevent:

I get paid to shitpost. fuck off faggot.

Get a forklift certificate, or better yet learn a trade. It's easier to get an apprenticeship when you have experience as a laborer.

I've done both blue and white collar work and by far the worst part of working in an office is the bureaucratic bullshit, you are literally the bitch of some MBA waste of carbon and his upper management butt buddies who doesn't even understand what you do from a technical standpoint but you have to make the customers happy while adhering to an arbitrary set of rules

>comfy chairs
Lower back pain and neck pain and more than that spine deformation in general hurts like hell .
>free coffee
My ass you fcktard.
>clean bathrooms
Not true at all people shit like their dead after coffee inthe morning.
>great paycheck
Working for jews doesnt equal good paycheck.
All in all you're a kike.

I want to get paid to shitpost

>MBA waste of carbon and his upper management butt buddies who doesn't even understand what you do from a technical standpoint
I got my Bachelor in Business and Energy Engineering for that very reason. It's a link between technical and administrative branches.

I second this. I did the lowest possible blue collar work and it was still better than my desk jobs. If you're at all redpilled stay as far away from corporate america as possible. Do something that actually has tangible results. I code apps, it feels dehumanizing.

This is part of why office work is suitable for liberals. They want and need to be treated like children, preferably by a big government, but an office bureaucracy can act as a surrogate.

Its my goal for this year to learn a trade.
I want to be done with warehouses but have to guarantee a new job first

What trade are you looking to get into?

I have to see whats near me in terms of trade school or if there is a job that is willing to pay to train me.
If I had to pick a trade right now I would opt for plumbing, satellite dish installation or biomedical technician.

Big 4 accountant here. Accurate.

Maybe for individual accounting, but corporate-grade, enterprise-level accounting isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

>biomedical technician
I don't think that's considered a trade, I'm pretty sure that to get into that you need a 2-3 year diploma/associate degree in electronics engineering technology.

Trades, user.
>Be Me.
>HVAC service technician.
> 80 to 120k a year.
>work only summers (or winters, depending on climate location)
> Have 0 people telling me what to do, only asking politely.
> Can think, say, do pretty much as I please as long as I get results.

It's a good life, my friends. Master of your domain tier. If you combine controls knowledge and some programming skills you have unlimited earning potential, and it is basically 98 percent white men at the service level.

>9-5 on paper
>have to arrive early to start up computer and complete pre-work tasks
>calls diverted to mobile while on lunch breaks
>additional tasks filed at 16:45, forcing you to stay back
>expected to check work emails and track progress remotely from home
i'd rather get into blue collar work but im unskilled in it

I thought its just a certification. I still have to research. Taking it easy this week. All I know is being yelled at and breaking my back and being taken advantage of for being a hard worker really sucks. I want to work hard, but not impossible hard.

Tfw work in an office that isn't politically correct and almost everything is okay to say as long as you aren't full retard. We get complaints all the time from our neighbors.

I work at a college

>work at a call center for tech support
>literally everything blocked on the internet, so much so that it deters us from even trying to use the internet to solve an issue
>wifi for the upper echelon only
>phones get you fired on the spot
>forced to shill for shitty products on tech support calls
>keep the call under 16 min or get punished
>no breaks between calls
>not allowed to call back if it drops, just fuck 'em and move along
>this just pisses them off even more when they do call back
>2 10 min breaks
>unpaid lunch
>chairs that seemed really nice when they were new started breaking within a year
>couple injuries from the metal plate in the back scratching people's backs when it busted and they fell over
>worked there for 3 years

yeah it's sooooooo great

People who genuinely complain about comfy desk jobs either work as telemarketers or are incredibly entitled.

Try working with physical labor, sick people, cashier, anything dirty, cold or hot. Then come back to me and complain how rough it is to sit in a comfy office often in a central location.

I'm getting a networking degree JUST to work in a comfy office.

>Call center
>White collar

You are literally a tier below fast food workers.

nah I'd consider it a tier above them because we got paid $12/hr while fast food in the area only does $8.50

I'm doing computer science what are my chances of getting paid to shitpost?

>working in logistics. Driving forklift and packaging some stuff + some computer work.
>free coffee
>free wifi and mostly unblocked internet
>doing 1-1,5 hours lunchbreaks but only note 0,5
>smoke when i want
>no one gives me shit as long everything runs smooth
>get paid as much as all the basic officefags

Haha officefags BTFO!

Lol networking. Enjoy being unemployed

100% if you can manage to carve out freelance work for yourself. DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT get a job with a big corporation, as you will be surrounded by SJWs, diversity hires, and wymins in tech (entitled, retarded belugas). I used to bag groceries and I liked that work environment better.

Fucking this. Nice hours, often free weekends because business is closed. No lifting.

Won't ruin my back by the time I turn 30, won't get run over by a for lift of have some heavy shit dropped on me. Got two friends who worked at the same warehouse. One ruined his knee, one ruined his back. Props for them, working so hard, but fuck that shit.

>have friends who are all working class
>repairmen, mechanics, plumbers
>be VP of a whole state reporting segment
>no one ever asks about my job or finds it interesting
>everyone thinks it is easy and that I am lazy because I don't work with tools
>have to work 2 hours OT because deadlines
>get shit for it from wife

Really not much respect given for desk jobs, but it pays the bills

I went to school for network administration, I find myself wanting to get back into it just so I can say I am IT, because people can at least relate to the IT department.

Kek, everyone I've talked to who went to the same school got jobs before or right when they graduated.
We don't have a horde of poo in loos who take all IT jobs.

Half my job is spent on fixing Quick books fuck ups. The thing that really worries me is AI. Which is why I am trying to get out of audit and into tax.

I spent a year with a Big 4 firm and I couldn't handle it. Literally the worst time of my life. With a national firm now and suddenly I've discovered all sorts of time I never had. My sympathies.

>implying teaching isnt the best job
fucking plebs

>work 25 hours a week in school, the rest is done at home
>I am literally my own boss, unless I fuck up big time nobody will ever bother me
>kids are always fun to work with, other than your average dead-inside wageslave
>half the work is done in my cozy homeoffice whenever I want
>fucking school holidays
>no late hours, always at home when my kids come back from school so I won't miss out on them growing up
>If I feel sick or have a bad day I can simply watch a movie with the class without the boss getting mad
>I get the chance to influence and redpill hundreds of kids in my lifetime

The only downside is if you are not made for the job it is literally hell on earth. However, If you enjoy it like I do it is heaven.

I honestly want to know how people can tolerate sitting in 1 spot for 8 hours looking at the same computer screen. Drives me nuts.

Is there a job that isnt groundhogs day?

Shit, and I thought my desk job was bad...
Maybe teachers have good working conditions in Germany, but here it is not so nice, low salaries, high stress and extra workloads. About 1/3 quit within their first year

Econ from a non-target school is suicide tier

H-how?

Do you own your own business?

pls this
i count boxes in a fucking warehouse and i want to kill myself i'm so bored

>Implying browsing Sup Forums for 2 hours per week makes you a non-productive individual when you put out 80+ billable hours per week

Go play forklift simulator or something, Hans.

>work in call center
>call time 3 minutes
>Bonus if you have the shortest call time
>get my call time down to 1 min 45 seconds
>get a talker on the line
>call goes on for 9 minutes
>that crushing feeling as realize you are dying inside and this crazy old cat lady is poisoning you for no other reason than because she is lonely

I remember call centers, I said fuck that and became a manager, then moved to back office operations. Find a better placement.

I for one work at GMF Mexico's branch and there's literally zero political correctness issues and maximum bantz so people get along, everyone knows what they're doing and nobody barks orders since productivity is through the roof atm, there's a good balance between men and women in the office even in higher level positions, we get fucking coffee and cookies refilled the second they run out of the individual kitchen each area has, the whole building is aesthethic and clean as fuck unlike the typical depressing 80's like offices, chairs are orthopedic for all employees regardless of level and the money is way above the national average.

I do know that many companies offer shit bureaucratic workplaces that fit to those stereotypes but I guess I was fortunate enough to land a nice blue collar job, pretty much the exact same situation as op, feels fucking good man

Fuck this shit. I had a desk job for 6 years before I joined the military and it was basically what said except that I would've had 40 years ahead.
It was comfortable but I can still do it when I'm old.

Cuck

Should we feel bad for you because you live in a poor country that doesn't have white collar jobs?

woops, I meant nice white collar job*

Honest question to non-millionaires NEETs, do you honestly think you can live off bennies indefinitely?

retirement age for me will be 71, so make that 47 years D:

Another point I forgot to mention about non-productive individuals: they are often blue collar. I grew up in a poor rural area. I worked in a factory about ten years ago (2 years of employment) and in the oil field for a year before going to school.

Many of my coworkers were not "true patriots" or anything. They'd mouth cuckservative slogans but were mostly useless alcoholics and drooling retards.

This isn't an indictment of manual labour jobs. Most of my family and friends work manual labour jobs. My point is simply that useless non-productive faggots, degenerates, and retards are found in basically every career. I've met lawyers and doctors who were absolutely useless (fuckin' affirmative action). I've met many, many rig workers who blow 80% or more of their cheques on alcohol and drugs.

tl;dr OP is right but there are retards everywhere

>tfw work in an enclosed server room area with a secured entrance with a few other men ranging from 30's to early 60's
>tfw not politically correct at all

Depends on the office entirely if you can get a small office area that is isolated from other areas and have all men you can get blue collar tier banter.

I agree, I'm happy as long as someone is working. I just can't stand welfare leeches

Unfortunately if you get a job in the US with any sort of government service you will deal almost exclusively with retarded blacks so his complaint is valid.

Nice going contradicting yourself there!

> A white person acting like a nigger is not a nigger, but a wigger.
Therefore niggers can only be black.

Sounds pretty comfy desu

Write engineering web content for an online engineering training platform. Told them it makes no sense to come in and sit behind a desk to do that. They let me work from home 4 out of 5 days. Fucking heaven. Equivalent of $900 a month. Desk job, but it's my home desk so its fucking awesome. Become a remote worker, man.

There is no shame in honest labor, but sometimes it feels like there ought to be. Anyone who does their job well and seeks to better their performance earns my respect, whether they are a plumber or a brain surgeon. Laziness is for niggers and elitism is for kikes. Respect your fellow working white man, Sup Forums.

I work at a desk and think the most difficult part is getting out of bed at 6:30am and dealing with traffic. Actually being at work it's fine.

Also, I did a dubious calculation that once you've you've removed, weekends, eight bank holidays, 30 days annual leave, and the five hours in the evening, I'm only at work for about 40% of the time!

How do I get a blue collar job though? I don't mind starting from the bottom

>30 days annual leave

Paid?

To be technical, I get 28 days paid leave and I'm allowed to carry 5 if I don't use them all. I'm still carrying my maximum 5 from when I started, so I had 33 days paid leave this year, but I will carry 5 again!

>dubious

I love this word. Just thought I'd share. Carry on.

Nice man. I get roughly 13-14 annual paid leave a day... not counting sick time and paid holidays of course.

I also get unofficial comp time which probably adds about 4-5 extra days a year of paid time off.

Could be worse I guess. 30 days paid leave would be nice. That is two long ass vacations per year.

>That is two long ass vacations per year.

I don't do that. I try to always have time off to look forward to. A week here, a long weekend there. If you have long holidays you'll have to work three or four months without a break - that would be a killer!

Same. I usually use my vacation time to extend my weekends (take off a monday here or there).

I think the longest I have taken off in a row at my job is one week straight for a family vacation.

I do have a residential business, but I am giving an average tech's salary. Let me say this is based on Florida, Texas and California the top paying places. It is based on things like you upselling on parts and services as well as systems if you are selling those. It is not an outlying number though, almost all HvAC techs are pulling in large numbers in the states I mentioned
