They are the ONLY country in the western world with gun ownership as an ingrained right, yet their government is more tyranical. It spies on it's own citizens. It locks up more of its citizen, mostly for non-violent crimes, than Red China. It has government policy that is downright unconstitutional.

Compare the tyranny of the US vs other western countries. A tyrannical government has to go far slower when treading on rights because there's always going to be a good number of free speech advocates on both sides.
