Honestly, at the time it happened it was 3 months in to my first real job after a year of unemployment and i was so ashamed to have been on centrelink that i just did not want to deal any more.

As for D&B they key is to just ignore them. They legally need too confirm your residence and identity before they can proceed with collection. They hounded me for over a year trying to reclaim a $900 dollar debt that i could have easily paid but fuck the cunts. Think of it as a court summons, they cant proceed if you haven t been summonsed and they need ot verify your details before they can send it out.

Sending me vouches that i need to call in to redeem
sending me a Christmas card

maybe 20+ threatening letter of various colors.
