Imagine a room full of dictators who use chemical weapons on women and children (Bashar al-Assad) and tyrants who’ve had political rivals and journalists murdered (Vladimir Putin), then toss in the KKK, David Duke (white nationalist and former Grand Wizard of the KKK), and neo-Nazis. Now ask yourself this: when has a group of people like that ever been on the right side of history?
The answer to that question is quite simple: Never.
However, those are some of the people and groups who all wanted to see Donald Trump elected president. Hell, Putin launched a cyber attack against this country to do just about everything he could to help make it happen, while David Duke and the KKK enthusiastically praised and celebrated his victory.
So, when Trump supporters proudly boast about his win, and staunchly defend their belief that he’s going to “make America great again,” what they’re also saying is that, for the first time ever, serial-killing tyrants, white supremacists, hate groups, Nazis, and dictators who use chemical weapons to slaughter women and children are going to be on the right side of history when it comes to backing Trump for president. Another way I’ve framed the question is by asking: If all I told you was that one candidate from an election you had no interest in was backed by those people, and you knew absolutely nothing else about that candidate, would you blindly support them?
That’s really what this all boils down to.
