Why did America vote for Trump?

Just trying to figure this out like a child in my head because... well, I find that it helps me think. I'm not a U.S. citizen btw. I've visited, but never found the appeal like everyone else in the world seems to think it has.

I'm actually a whitehat hacker by profession (I'm legally authorized to find holes in computer systems), and the more I think about it the more I think that Trump is just a spam email.

I mean, think about it. If a spam e-mail is simply someone trying to sell you a story so they can make money, then isn't spam the same as a snake-oil salesmen? Someone who promises a product and never delivers.

Trump has never delivered on his promises with contracts (paper trail/legal system has all the records; online even!). The older he's gotten, the less he's delivered on 'contracts'.

He just uses the legal system to make problems go away. He's an expert at avoiding responsibility by promising you whatever.

And he made a 'Contract with the American People'.

So what is Trump if not spam? Like, in human form. Really. Didn't South Park do an episode about Advertising becoming human-form or something? Those are the thoughts running around my head and giving me an itch I gotta scratch. Somehow.

*sigh* this is actually something I'd really love an answer to or talk about it.

Any takers?

Because he's a meme and ironically got voted in.

And I'm legally allowed to call out faggotry and baiting

Le sigh

It doesn't help how inconsistent he's been on the issues. I always figured he was just saying whatever he thought would win. Doesn't really believe in anything.

Lots of people who normally vote Democrat did much worse under Obama, who acquiesced to powerful financial and security agents, which discouraged them from showing up. Meanwhile, Trump beat up the old and slow traditional Republican losers and energized the Republican base of middle class and wealthy white people.

But... that's... still what a spam e-mail does.

And Trump has a paper trail of never delivering on promises.

A spam e-mail doesn't care if one person hears it, it just goes for volume. That's what botnets do, they link computers and send out mass e-mails. And now... you all voted... for spam?

I mean. I can only think of Trump as NOT spam if I can see some shred of evidence that he has ever upheld his word/promise/contract?

So... wait, all you guys are saying really is that I'm right.

You are bought into it, because he found every hole the system before him had left behind. And he was a master at finding holes in systems.

And you guys still act like the United States? I mean, you all picked one person for different reasons. You all believed the same spam e-mail. But... there's nothing behind him. No proof.

Did you guys have such little faith in your country that you simply decided to throw yourselves under a bus? He has NUKE capabilities. The one man on the planet who has a direct chain-of-command to launch a nuke, and nobody is legally allowed to stop him.

That's true, yes? Or did I misinterpret something.

Look, can someone give me an opinion here that can't fall under the category of "Because he was better than the alternative."

It just makes me feel like you guys decided to commit collective suicide. But you all think you are saving each other, or at least...

Fuck me. Look, I'm an Aussie... you guys are in some serious fucking trouble. I've never seen 300 million people swan dive into death.

Uh... good luck?

I didn't vote for him or support him. Basically the country split on party lines and one party had less people show up.

You keep trying to use this spam email analogy but I don't really get it, it's probably because I don't work in the same field as you.

People like Trump aren't new, he actually represents a lot of groups that have been lurking around in America since it's inception

I'm really just saying he's completely apolitical and was a living meme that got voted in by people sick to death of the past 8 years. He picked the party going going into the election with an advantage (the GOP, going against the 2 year incumbent party which usually loses on the 3rd term) and rode that to victory.

People had all kinds of different reasons for voting for him. They hated hillary. They hated the far left BS that's infected American culture. They got fucked by Obamacare. They got fucked by a changing economy and dissapearing jobs. Plus many others.

I stopped following the election when Rand Paul dropped out. But with the consistent Trump memes and threads, that's pretty much the only reason he got elected. How can you be serious and vote for somebody who acts like a whiny liberal on twitter and feel good about yourself? Makes no sense to me either.

>He picked the party going going into the election with an advantage (the GOP, going against the 2 year incumbent party which usually loses on the 3rd term) and rode that to victory.

He picked the GOP long before this election. He's been cultivating his credentials among the right for over a decade.

welcome to the club. he's simply inherited a large amount of money tied up in obscure legal procedures, and he needs america's tax dollars to set it free

Page one drive-by here

Trump is an amalgamation of middle class resentment for a political ruling class that has ignored them for decades instead focusing on proxy wars overseas in the interests of globalism. We are willing to break our government if it means stopping the runaway representation that only cares about its reelection rather than making good change. (Protip: change for the better in this country comes at a price, one that the middle class is rallying support in paying, and one that the political class is avoiding like the plague because it means job instability [term limits for congressmen as an example]).

it was the first time in their lives they got to say FUCK YOU to the liberal faggots, feels good man, who cares if Trump fucks shit up, fuck you feels sooooo gooood

put the pipe down

you don't understand because your image of America is through a media filter. I wouldn't pretend to understand Australian politics because I spent a week there.

>tech guy by profession
>anything other than an autistic lolburgtardian numbers processing machine who will never understand anything about human nature or affairs

I used to respect tech literate people so much but the more you grow up the more you realize their talents come as though on a scale. The more autistic technically specific-talented the less they are at understanding human interactions both interpersonally and in larger social structures.

So yeah the reason you don't see former scientists and mathematicians in government roles is not cause they have too much integrity for politics, and not cause they're persecuted by others who resent their tech prowess, but because they really are missing something as human beings.

no amount of college, novel reading, or even real world experience ever changes that in these people.

For more see the Laputians, a 1700s satire of these types of people in Gulliver's Travels.

My American rellies voted for Trump to dick with the US political system.

Since the 1980s they've seen their quality of life go down while the rich get richer, the poor and illegals seemingly get more and more concessions.

They were middle middle class, now upper lower class.

Trump sealed their votes with the "grab em by the pussy" thing. They're hoping for a major shake up of how politics is done.

You're either a proxy troll or I have more mouthbreathing faggots in my country than I had originally thought.

Day of the emu when?

That is exactly what he is; a trojan sent into the US government to crash it in order to force a reboot of the system. He's a legal "fuck you" to the establishment sent by the lower middle class and shitposters for being corrupt hypocrites. And because it's funny.

OP you should read "Inside the Spam Cartel"

it's from 2004 and a bit outdated but the spam problem was largely solved in 2005 with johnathan zdziarski's book (he invented iphone jailbreaking too)

trump actually reads like a spam email, complete with tiny white-font bible verses

Most Americans voted for Hilldawg though, the system chose Plumpf

no, trump recycles the same conversational phrases in a cadence that could easily be computer-generated. he's a walking meme, but only so because he acts as a bullshit generator that tries to sell you condos in manhattan

They're machines mate, you're not supposed to respect your toaster: you make your toaster do a task. Same thing with number crunchers, be they digital or biological.

Hey, happy libtard here. Frankly our first world life is getting too fuckin' expensive, and we forgot to pay our middle class more. Then the stupid ones told the influential ones that the best president of the modern era was a real crummy piece of shit because Fox News said so led to far too much partisanship.

Of course the Russians would figure out the power of the press and the internet and try to rig an election. There's literally no risk. They just feed our bored white people some shit on facebook and before you know it, you've captured the heart and soul of a majority.

We're too stupid to understand confirmation bias. We weren't taught that shit in high school, we were taught that in college. Most of us, anyway. We're not all fucking idiots, we just got hit right in the achilles heel. We're not objective enough, we take things too much at face. We don't think people are mean to us on purpose. We trust people at the outset well-enough, maybe a little too much.

I hope our goofy system of Democracy works. I'm really rooting for it. It's just going to require a lot of work.

I've never met a white hat that wasn't a spaz.

He is the first leader in 10 years who puts the needs of his country first, above the needs of foreign countries.

Also hillary Clinton was the worst candidate the democrats could have proposed. Incompetent corrupt and deeply ill.

he offered tax cuts in a sluggish recovery.
That and he had more charisma.

I voted for him because he promised to ban anime.

Because he destroyed what, 17 career politicians on the right in the Republican primaries?

Because he wasn't afraid to address the elephant in the room that is globalism= less jobs for Americans.

Because the best the Democrats could nominate was a socialist Jew who never held an actual job in his life or the anointed carpetbagging harpy who has been a corrupt abysmal failure in every office she's held.

Because he was the antithesis of degeneracy and PC culture that the liberal elite told us was "progress".

Because we saw thru the obvious shilling and witch hunts and fake news that Trump was racist, xenophobic and Islamophobic.

Because if the USA is great again, all western democracies see the truth and the light (Brexit)

trade

Why not join this new "upper lower class" with the poor and fight for a socialist revolution?

Basically, he got elected because the left is completely insufferable at this point in time.

Stupidity is the only possible explanation. Trump had the most support from the least educated. People have no idea what they were actually voting for, since Trump doesn't give a fuck and keeps changing his positions. American stupidity has produced the Russian-stooge leader that America deserves.
Source: Australiann just returned from living in America.

I voted for Trump because the only possible alternative was Hillary.

This was not a victory for Trump so much as it was an indictment of an American left that has abandoned the working class and any principles they may have had in favor of identity politics and corporate cronyism. Mandating people buy insurance they can't afford and setting up a government program that drastically drives up insurance premiums is not providing "affordable health care". And $800 billion bank bailouts and quantitative easing that deliberately drives down the value of the dollar in order to make investment more attractive for the rich is not serving the economic interests of the working class. Obama's drone strikes on 8 separate countries and the Clinton lead state department's disastrous interventions in Syria and Libya are not the policies of an anti-war party just as lying to the American people about the NSA and defending their warrant-less spying are not the policies of a party that values individual rights. This was the state of the Democratic party in 2016, a slew of neo-conservative, status quo policies helmed by a corrupt and scandal plagued candidate who haphazardly characterized anyone who opposed her as racist or sexist. The question to ask yourself isn't how could Trump win, its how did the Democrats think they could possibly win running on a platform like that?

Large part of this
It is nice to have some one who will say w/e is on his mind instead of having a team of psycho analyst plan out his ever move/gesture

aka it's nice having an idiot who shares his constantly shifting stream of consciousness, including reversals on his biggest campaign positions like "lock her up" and "Mexico is gunna pay for it." Doesn't the stupidity of this just irk you in some way? It's like saying that the rambling drunk at the bar is refreshing to hear because his stream of drivel is honest and non-stop.

Everyone that isn't a nigger or over 50 woman was sick of the same ole same ole bullshit that Hillary Clinton represented, and most didn't want things getting WORSE, which was likely, under a Madam President Clinton based on how stupid AND corrupt she was.

It is a different discussion about how Trump became the Republican candidate. That amounts to the majority of Republican voters splitting their vote too much between very similar candidates, leaving one of the stand out candidates (celebrity, entertainer, proven businessman, and outsider) to accumulate the rest of the votes to become the Republican candidate.

youtu.be/xjuBRb6GK-c

this is some shitty pasta regardless of how fresh it smells.

normally I'd agree with a shit posting aussie. It'd be business as usual and bantz. but today you are wrong mate

Trump knows how to pick who's in charge of what, it's pretty obvious in how he runs his shows. Look at his cabinet, nothing but pure 100% american win

That's not what spam is, spam is constantly getting shot you didn't ask for and don't want. Like liberal opinions.

the lesser of two evils. decline would continue no matter who is in office.. you need to realise that the goverment is just there to placate the masses but really has little control over world events.

also if you think trump is at all bad then you clearly have no knowledge of history.

weils blöd sind

take a look at his competition and the horrendous shit they were saying, and you will fully understand why Trump was elected. A lot of politicians pretty much fit the bill, and finding a politician to follow through on their plans is actually hard to come by these days.

Wouldn't Ron Paul have been a better choice for Treasury Secretary?

>Why did America vote for Trump?

Figure it out for yourself.

You are supposed to be the "elites" right?

He would, but there's the matter that Ron paul gave the entire RNC the big middle finger after they screwed him over and gave the nomination to Mitt the floating turd, and then instilled rules that would have made it damn ear impossible for somebody like Ron paul to run for the RNC nomination ever again.

A lot of different people voted for Donald Trump

The main reasons were:

>Illegal Immigration
For the last 15 years Americans have been clamoring for the State and Federal governments to stem the tide and deport the illegals. To date nobody has done it and few have even said they would. Trump was the first viable candidate to openly say what millions of Americans wanted in a blunt and straightforward manner.

>The Economy
This is why Trump won the rust belt. (global) free trade and globalism in general has destroyed the American manufacturing base, disenfranchising millions. International minded people like Clinton caused this mess and those hit hardest by the recession want a President who will fight to bring those jobs back home.

>Clinton looked very dishonest
The leaks and her poor handling of it made her seem phony, as well as her lack of charisma. Trump may be polarizing but people either do LOVE him if they don't hate him, in many cases. Clinton is just awkward and out of touch.

>People are sick of the government
The Establishment has been ignoring the citizens for decades and people are tired of it. The economy gets worse, the future looks more bleak, but the government refuses to do anything different. It just chugs along ignoring the voters and wasting money whilst being bought by special interests. Trump maybe rich but the Republican Party and the media going so hard against him legitimized his claim that he was a genuine outsider. Ironically, all the criticisms and attacks against him citing his 'lack of experience' with governing or his uncomfortable demeanor at the debates, probably helped cement in people's minds that he was NOT a career politician and was thus more genuine. if nothing else, a vote for Trump was a big FU to the government.

Because fuck the world

sage

Okay, I see all these reasons. But they still fall under what I would call a cyclical argument. Y'all didn't talk, and still aren't.

I'm really only hearing this, from the Americans, "Out of 300,000,000 of our people, we're idiots and decided it'd be funnier to make Donald Trump the man we want in charge of our Nuclear Arsenal."

So... you decided to give Trump the SHORTEST possible distance to a nuclear launch and Command-In-Chief of the U.S. Armed Forces. All because nobody was talking to anybody else.

...*shrug*, thank fuck I'm in Australia. The U.S. needs us as we are geographically necessary for your nuclear defense and nobody gives a fuck about us. Weird. We get to watch you guys either kill us all, yourself, or whatever.

We still get to have a tinnie though.

Unless you guys use the REALLY big things and start punching holes through the ozone layer (see attached)

Trump lost the popular vote but the same people who regularly fall for amway schemes are spread out more so electoral college said "fuck them city folk we electing the american bersculoni because he gunna build a wall and make them euros cry and get rid of them nigger health care my 4 kiddies live off of"

Just hide out in the outback or something. New Zealand will be the new athens and have to fight off the chinese hordes that leads to a new golden age,

Haha! I think I just figured out a pretty concise way to sum this whole thing up.

Y'all forgot that 'muh freedom!' is something you fight 'with' someone, not 'against' someone.

Fucking yanks.

To prevent the ethnic replacement of Whites by Hispanics, and the loss of their country to Latin America. It was the last chance to save their country from becoming Mexico/Brazil 2.0, like has already happended to California.

Build the wall, deport them all. Read/watch anything by Ann Coulter the past 18 months to understand.

Fuck, a fellow cunt.

Not sure where you're heading there though mate. We slaughtered the abbos much worse than the yanks did their american indians.

Or are you also 'these fucking refugees' types? I mean it's cool if you are man, but, if England and the U.S. is gonna crash and burn, I don't see how a bunch of white aussies are gonna make a fucking different.

Just lay low. Like the jews I guess, who cares? Life goes on. So long as I get my holidays.

The culture needed to change.

There's just about nothing Trump can do that would make me wish we let the left continue to become more more arrogant, more stagnant, and more controlling. They needed to be humbled.

Wacth Ann Coulter speech here to understand what was at stake:
fagbook.com/story.php?story_fbid=829707260472423&id=695526053890545

Trump isn't going to stop that. He may throw out illegals but he'd have to do retroactive citizenship for a full blown race purge.

And no one will do this, congress will oppose him (Ted Cruz would be deported, half the dems would be deported, some republicans would be deported...) and he'd have to basically deport 1/5th the whole country, crash multiple state economies, risk a civil war, have to deal with tons of "race traitors", have to deal with big businesses, international sanctions and more.

America didn't vote for Donald Trump. The Republicans and the Working Class voted for Trump.

This outweighed the Democrats and the Minorities

Oh hey, maybe some of you can tell what's right in front of your face.

I'm just sorry you got to live through that shitshow.

Aussie culture is pretty much if you aren't joining in the party, ya can just fuck right off. Leave your job at the door and have a beer, bong, or some shrooms if you got a bush fella.

Trump won because Hillary was just so fucking awful.

She had the entire establishment with her, the media, celebrities, everyone, and still lost because she was such a horrible candidate.

Almost anyone could have beaten her.

If their tactic works you adapt it, nigger. Or be a principeled cuckservative and lose everything.

REDDIT OUT!!!!! REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
