I grew up in a small family, two siblings, mom, dad, and one grandmother who passed when I was in grade school... and that was it. No aunts to visit, no uncles to go camping with, no cousins to play with over the Summer, no family reunions, no big holiday get-togethers, nothing.
My siblings and I all agreed we wanted our kids and grandkids to have the kind of big, happy, extended family we never got to experience growing up... but good luck finding a woman whose interested in having more than one kid, let alone a big family. Almost all of the relationships I've been in ended for the same reason - as soon as we start talking seriously about the subject of kids, they turn out to be some "one-and-done" type or they only want to adopt.
